Service was non-existent once we finally received our food. My son actually went to the car and got his water bottle, poured it in his cup, and still no one came over to ask if anyone needed refills. I had the beef pho and the broth tasted like noodle water, the noodles were over-cooked mush, and there were maybe four pieces of beef in the bowl. Very tasty! -Half Stracciatella (chocolate chip) and half lemon cup of gelato ($4.95/cup): I've never seen a Thai place have gelato but anywhere there is gelato you get points from me. The flavors were excellent and the sweet, creamy goodness of that gelato was on point. -Crab ragoons ($5.95) I believe that there were 5 ragoons in the order. The crab flavor is not overwhelming and it is served with a sweet sauce on the side for dipping. -Pad Se Ew with beef ($10.95) This dish has thick, flat noodles with egg and broccoli in a sweet soy based sauce. -Pad Thai with chicken ($9.95) Although a standard Thai favorite, this dish was flavorful and a good portion. Service: 6/5 Okay so a 6 out of 5 is not mathematically possible, I get it. However, the service here is so great that I thought that number would show how nice there are here. We were greeted with a warm, friendly smile to get our takeout order. Then we decided to spend some time ordering a drink and some gelato once we got there and realized how great it all looked. After our amazing first experience we had with Ginger Thai and especially the service we received from Lena and Linda, we were so excited to go back here so we went there for dinner tonight and I am really saddened to change my 5 stars to 1 but it has to be done. When we walked in the server, Ant (that is the name that was on our check)had a can't even be bothered attitude. She sat us but looked kind of annoyed. I cheerfully asked her if Linda or Lena was working and told her we had such a good experience the first time. She said Linda was working but Lena was off. I don't know if me asking her upset her even more, but the service was so weird and awkward even more from there on. We ordered a Tom Kha Gai soup for my baby. We were looking to order fried rice and the rice we chose, the server seemed annoyed that we were asking for it mild. We explained to her that baby would be eating it and she said she couldn't change it and told us to order something else so we ended up ordered the basil fried rice. My husband ordered pork green curry, Thai hot where as me who has been watching a lot of Mark Wiens on YouTube wanted to desperately try his favorite Pad Ka Prow so I ordered Shrimp Pad Ka Prow, also Thai hot. First thing we both noticed when our dishes appeared was that they were both loaded with green bell peppers. My husband commented that maybe green bell pepper was on sale today as both our dishes were overwhelmed with it. My husband said his green curry was so watery it felt like a soup rather than curry and didn't have any flavor at all. My Pad Ka Prow was unlike anything I have seen Mark Wiens eating or the various recipes I have seen online. It was again loaded with green bell peppers and very little of anything else. We got the fish cake appetizer which wasn't that great imo. I found it too oily & rubbery. The shrimp pad Thai was really good & they were very generous with the amount of shrimps & the shrimp tails were already removed. My husband ordered a cat fish dish and that was also very good. The portion was a good amount and perfectly spiced. There was a lot of options on the menu and I find them comparable to Thai restaurants in NYC. Price was very reasonable for the portion size. Ginger Thai offers pretty good Thai food in a strip-mall setting. One of my go-to cuisines on the road is Thai, and Ginger Thai did not disappoint. The atmosphere is very informal. I sense they do a good deal of lunch-time and carry-out business. The setting is not going to 'wow' your clients or a first date: comfortably casual I'd say. The service was prompt and attentive. I've been to Ginger Thai a few times and just recently went back for some take out food. I ordered the fresh spring rolls and the Pad Kee Mow, spicy noodle dish, with chicken. I was pleased to see that the portion was HUGE and there was plenty of food. It was spicy and had a great flavor, definitely a fan! I've had better spring rolls, but they were OK. It looks like they have added some space since I last was here and it used to be BYOB minus beer, but I think now they sell wine and beer. Cool. Take out was fast, tasty, and they are a solid option! When our trek to house of kabob failed due to them being closed for observance of Eid, the bf and I decided to detour to the closest acceptable restaurant around the corner, Ginger Thai. I guess fate or just life has a way of knowing what's best for you because this place delivered! We came on a Sunday around 11:30 am so the restaurant was still quiet. We seated ourselves and, after looking at the fairly extensive menu, ordered the Thai style papaya salad, duck curry and some pho/ramen like broth with vermicelli noodles called sukiyaki. All were ordered very spicy. The Papaya salad was flavorful, with both the spice and pungent fish sauce coming through. It comes with a bit of raw cabbage to ease the hot. The duck curry was delicious--broth was very satisfying and spicy, and I kept going back for more. The only critique I had was that the duck wasn't as tender as I hoped and was also pretty fatty. My bf seemed to enjoy his noodle dish. Price for both was around $40, so pretty standard fair if not a little higher than most Thai places. Thai food at it's best! But don't be fooled by the location. The ambience inside is well worth the trouble it takes to get here the first time. Hint: Look for the shady food truck at the corner gas station and you're right on track. Then make a sharp left turn into a semi abandoned parking lot and you're there! Once you're safely inside...the world of Thai food is yours! The staff is very welcoming and genuinely happy to see their regulars walk in. It always surprises me when they remember what I ordered last time, especially because I don't remember what I had for breakfast this morning. I don't even really remember what we were talking about....Oh yeah, Thai food! You can't go wrong with the classic Pad Thai, but I'm assuming that you were able to safely navigate your way to this restaurant, and that means that you are grown enough to venture outside of the box. So try a veggie spring roll or egg roll with delicious sauce. Dip your fingers in it, I dare you. Make sure to err on the safe side when choosing your level of spice. It always comes out hotter than you think it will be. My suggestion is to get the spice rack tray for the table, that way you can add it to your liking. After you have tried the classics, go for one of the curry dishes or papaya salad. I was graciously warned that the papaya salad had a strong fish or soy sauce smell. I told them it was fine, after all I am single. The tofu is organic, steamed, and great with any dish. I know this because I'm cheap and I love to eat off people's plates! The one thing I will spring for is a pot of ginger tea. It's smooth, sweet, and made with real ginger crystals that give it a zing. Share it with a group or drink every drop yourself. A friend and I made plans to meet for lunch, and he suggested Ginger Thai. I've never been before, and after glancing at the reviews, it seems like an okay place. I'm always up for Thai food and usually look for places I've never tried before. He arrived ahead of me, and went in to grab a table and something to drink. I arrived about 10 minutes after he did. I went over to the table, and he remarked about how easy it was to be seated because generally the lunch crowd is heavier than it was. Two people working there saw me come in and sit down, but neither bothered to greet me. Strike one. After 10 minutes of waiting to place my drink order we finally flagged someone over. Strike two. The food came out very quickly. I ordered fresh rolls with shrimp as an appetizer for us to share. The vegetables and shrimp were fresh, but I thought the peanut dipping sauce was a little lacking. My lunch entree was pad pak with pork, and it was very good, with just the right amount of heat for the middle of the day. Generally I like a hotter spice level, and will probably ask for it to be bumped up a notch next time. (Yes, Virginia, there WILL be a next time.) My friend said he usually ordered chicken pad thai, and said his was good. After the meal we sat and visited for a while, and I kept glancing over at the gelato. Italian dessert in a Thai restaurant? That's a really great idea! I found the juxtaposition of Asian and European to be an interesting combination. While I didn't order gelato, I think I'll do so in the future. So even though Ginger Thai started out with two strikes, my first impression is favorable because they redeemed themselves on the food. Had the service been a little better, my four star rating would have been a five. Note to the management: never underestimate the value of a good first impression. Greet your customers as they come through the door, and for heaven's sake, don't make them wait 10 minutes before you come get their drink order. I'm willing to give second chances, but a lot of people aren't, so you want to start off on the right foot. I asked for Thai hot (as I love spicy but most places don't make the food spicy). There was 0 flavor just red in color and not spicy. Not sure you can even call this drunken noodle. More like noodle with red sauce. I was disappointed my order was wrong but even more disappointed the one entree I did get was so messed up and horrible tasting. I was feeling adventurous last night, and thought to myself "ok, I'm getting a bit burned out on my regular thai joint (Phootket) lets try something new!" so after reading some yelp reviews, I headed to Ginger Thai based solely on Yelp! Reviews. Well, golly, you guys were on RIGHT ON. What a nice change up! It is a bit challenging to find, so just look for the Phillips 66 gas station, and turn in and its right there. There are only about 8 tables, and I got the last one (sign of a good restaurant). The place is very clean and I was greeted right away. It looks to be in a 'new' strip mall. The menu has some variety of choices, and some new Thai/Vietnamese dishes I hadn't heard of it, but I went with Pad Prik Pow (Pepper, Onion, Basil in spicy sauce) for $8.95 with chicken. The dish came out smelling of spicy fresh aromas on this super cute square bright white plate with the cutest little flower carrot on top (see pic). I took a bite, and was just amazed. I could taste the onion sweet, and the pepper spicy, I ordered "medium" and it was just that. A little kick! The sticky rice was so good, I gobbled it up so fast I ordered another helping! It seemed like everyone got their food in a timely manner, I counted 4 to-go orders as I was there and this wait staff was on it. They have a lower lunch prices on some limited choices starting at $6.95. I dunno about you but I get on these thai kicks and this one has shifted that kick into overdrive. read more

I love Ginger Thai! It's right around the corner from my house so I Uber Eats them more often than I'd like to admit.... I've had the pleasure of trying quite a few things on the menu including the pad Thai (Thai hot of course), basil pepper chicken, drunken noodles, and a bunch of other great entrees and soups! This place has the best larb I think I've ever had. Their Larb Gai is outstanding. It has a perfect blend of spices and ingredients... almost like every bite lets you taste each one in perfect harmony. Try it... you won't be disappointed. Their Mussamun curry is phenomenal. Perfect consistency and flavor all around. I like sticky rice instead of regular rice with my curry. While they have it, it isn't the best in Nashville... sometimes too wet, or not enough in my katip (little bamboo rice container). The chicken wings are good, but I'm not a huge fan of sauce on my wings. It was a good flavor, just not my preference. The papaya salad is available in both Laos and Thai style. The Laos is too fishy and the Thai is too bland. I'll stick with the papaya salad at King Market and Thaistar. One gripe I have here is the spiciness. I like things generally spicy, but not everyone I eat with does. Two times when I've eaten here and we've had different spicy levels requested on different dishes, the waitress has either confused them, or (I feel like)not even told the kitchen anything should be spicy. Next time I go here I need to try the pho and the lard nah. That should give me a better idea of this place on the whole. read more

Consistently delicious! Try the pad se-ew!! Even during the lunch rush the food is always amazing and the portions are great, especially the dinner size. We've gone in with a party of 8 or 9 and they never give us any grief when we request separate checks for all. Drinks are kept full and I've always been well taken care of. I also recommend the broccoli with chicken if you're looking for a slightly healthier option. After reading reviews on Yelp, I came here for a try. Whenever I come to a Thai restaurant for the first time, I gotta order a Thai tea. I tried different Thai tea at different restaurants before and they didn't cut it for me. However, the Thai tea at Ginger is quite yummy and refreshing, exactly what I was looking for! We ordered a fried fish (you can see it in the photos section), red curry, and papaya salad (regular one). The fried fish was good and crunchy. Red curry was average (I had better curry at Peter Thai and Sushi). I made a wrong choice by ordering the regular papaya salad, instead of the one with crab. I didn't like the taste of the regular papaya salad, I think I could make better one at home. For this I'm taking one star off. Parking wasn't a problem for me and service was excellent. Wednesday June 18th, Noel and I were both off today. So we went shopping for some much needed items for her new job..she has to wear business attire so we went to get her some new clothing for work and some new shoes. Tony stayed home to watch the kittens and Sammy, so we enjoyed a new adventure for lunch. We both are very adventuresome and we wanted to try some new cuisine...so we decided on Thai..so we stopped at "Ginger Thai" on Thompson Lane about a 1 mile from the home. I opted for "Chicken Thai Pad" something like that...lol!!! It's a rice noodle dish with bean sprouts, corn, chicken, cilantro and thai spices..she asked me if I wanted spicy, regular or authenic thai spicy..I said give me authenic thai spicy...she said "REALLY"..and I said YES ..she said "YOU SURE?"..I said..oh yeah I like spicy..Noel went with a PHO Soup with wide rice noodles, chicken and pork with spices..very yummy...when they brought the large bowl of soup we were like "OMG"...this Very Large...but it was EXTREMELY good..it all was.. We both went with sodas and ordered some Fresh Spring Rolls with shrimp and raw veggies, cilantro and lemongrass...very good with a sweet plum duck sauce..very good!!! Noel and I really enjoyed the food so much but the portions were so large, we had to bring it home...Leftovers for Dinner...it was very reasonable..$25 with taxes plus tip...awesome food, awesome service..we will definitely be back..I am so glad our First Thai experience was a GREAT ONE !!!
