Sept 2018 - Scheduled Nov 7th appt w/Dr McMullen. Before doing this I had to find and make an appt w/a PCP per office of McMullen's refusal to accept a referral from my OBGYN
Nov 5th Called office was on hold 15 min hung up thinking maybe they were on lunch
Nov 6th Called office after hold time of 12 min call was taken, told blood work had not been received
Later Nov 6th Called office (to find out fax # for blood work) hung up after 20 min hold time deciding I'd just google it
Evening of Nov 6th Received awkward automated call from office reminding me of appt. Felt upset that a human had not taken 30 seconds to make this call. Looked up directions to office, GPS said 38 min
Nov 7th Decided to give myself one hour rather than 38 min in case of traffic for 8:15am appt time. Got into car at 7:15am. GPS stated arrival time of 8:12am (per traffic). Felt upset, wanted more time for parking/finding office. Traffic pattern worsened (rush hour + auto accident resulting in 4 lane closure on 50). Parking was problematic (there are numerous parking garages that have arrows for Sutter parking). Parked in wrong garage, wandered around confused looking for 1020 address, feared for personal safety per ominous glances from those residing in homeless tent camp about 100 feet from office entrance. Walked into office at 8:32am. Training staff not ready for me was told to wait until other staff got off phone to help. Was called up at 8:45am and told that I could not be seen per office late policy. Tried to explain why I was late and suggest that morning clients coming from out of town (I live in Lodi) be advised of rush hour traffic patterns in Sacramento. Staff stated "I cannot be held responsible for traffic" and told me I was welcome to reschedule. Responded "Absolutely not!" Left office of Dr. Ginger McMullen never to return again.
Take away: Including drive time, phone wait time and sitting in their waiting room this office wasted over 2 hrs. and 17 minutes of my time but was unwilling to wait 15 min for me. That 2 hrs and 17 min is time I will never get back. Per previous reviews Dr McMullen sounds like a caring human who knows her trade well. Sadly, after two months of waiting and an extremely frustrating experience arriving to her office, I was not given the opportunity to see her. Until she addresses staffing and office policy issues anyone who does not have masochistic tendencies should schedule with this office only as an absolute last resort. I will not make the mistake of doing so again. read more
