I heard a voicemail message that the staff was either out to lunch or busy on other calls, so I left my name and number, but haven't heard back as of 3/15/21. He is my moms doctor and my mom adores him. She has some rare chronic illnesses and was just diagnosed extensive stage cancer. He is amazing and so are the other docs. If he can't see my mom one of them will, we have never had an issue getting anything filled in fact my mom had an issue on vacation with meds and I was terrified but his office took care of it. If I didn't have kaiser for myself I would switch to him immediately. They are all down to earth and caring. When the time comes for my mom to go on hospice Dr. Quinto said he would take care of her. I was a patient of Dr. Ernesto Quinto for a few years until he dropped me. We lost our insurance during COVID, but hope to regain it once my husband goes back to work. In the meantime, I needed a refill precription for my inhaler. They would not give me a refil without seeing me first. Because I had no insurance since Feb. 2021 they dropped me. Nor would see me without it. No CASH patients, I was told. Once my insurance is reinstated they would gladdly see me. In the meantime, I did not know how to go about getting an inhaler and I was struggling with shortness of breathe. I begged, please all I need is for you to send a precription a particular pharmacy. I have been your patient for years, please. No deal. No insurance. I was worthless to them. At least that is how they made me feel. We were looking for a Primary Physician with Osteopathy training and education. My wife has not had a primary physician since moving to California over 5 years ago. Her need was to find a physician that would refer her to specialists when necessary, listen well and provide caring, common sense treatment without the usual," this happens with age" attitude or mentality. Comments: Dr Quinto's staff was extremely courteous, both in person and on the telephone. The appointment was made one week from the date I called. The office waiting room was full, staff was exceptionally pleasant. She was seen within 10 minutes of the scheduled appointment time.(mid morning appointment) My Wife is very critical of western medicine, very hard to please when it comes to physicians. This is an exact description of her comments after seeing Dr Quinto. He is a very pleasant man. He listens well and asks numerous questions, felt that a referral to the best endocrinologist in the area would be wise. The best part of this experience is my wife wants Dr Quinto to be her Primary Physician now and in the future. My mother has been his patient for many years, so when it was time for me to leave my beloved pediatrician I made the switch. I am actually reviewing his physicians assistant Rich Bowling. I only call into the doc when I am really sick and want to get better ASAP. So it has been that Rich is available when Dr. Quinto is not. I love Rich. He is very personable, and you feel that he is really listening to you, and really cares about you as a patient and a person. I now request to see Rich, and rarely see Dr. Quinto. P.S. don't be put off by the front desk, it took years for me to realize that they actually aren't rude, but really efficient. While fearful that the need to change doctors might be tough, was so lucky Dr. Quinto was taking patients at that time. Probably 10 plus years ago. Very happy there. Update to previous review. Richard Bolling is great. I always appreciate his professionalism. It seems like the office staff is making changes. In my recent experience they were very punctual and courteous. My prior experience must have been a flute. We all have bad days. I haven't seen Dr Quinto for some time but he has in the past been very professional and helpful. I will say that his military background could be read as a lack of caring but I really think it is just his training. I trust him in his medical decisions. read more

You know when you actually speak with Dr Quinto he's a nice guy and a good doc. But dealing with his office is just a fricken mess. Bad office management, lack of communication between office workers. Referrals from Dr Quinto's office to other specialists NEVER go though smoothly. Where to start? The unwillingness to continue treatment plan due to insurance change (I was willing to pay cash). The decision to abandon me and the treatment plan in place during the time I had between them dropping me and being told they would no longer see me and finding new doc(This was last month,February 2018) when they told me they would no longer treat me without insurance...keep in mind it's now March. When I was unable to find a doctor for me within a month, the refusal to prescribe meds for a week until my new primary doc could see me......Quinto's office had seen me for 3 years after prior doc of (13 years retired) and I was referred to Quinto. My new doc said I was lucky I did not have a seizure during time without meds. Doctor oath: First, Do no harm ......well that oath flew out of the window. read more

After reading the reviews, I felt compelled to chip in. I have been with Dr. Quinto and staff for about 8 years. What I find, is mostly, problems lie in the HMO protocols. This Dr. and his staff must follow the volumes of rules put in place by not only the Group, mine is Hill, but Dignity Health, the FDA, and the Law. Doctors have lost the ability to treat freely. This office is not perfect, I've had issues also. But, as a patient, we need to follow up on our Health. Our Blood tests, our Diagnostics. Our Appt Reminders. Sadly, those that are too sick to do so, do suffer. But, having Chronic illnesses, working as a Caregiver, and having sick family, I have had more than my share working with many Doctors here in Sacramento. And in comparison, I must give Dr. Quinto and his staff.. 5 Stars. read more

PROS: My family and I have been patients here for about 8 years. I like the location and convenience. Dr. Richard Bowling is perhaps the most amazing part of this office and we always try to get him. Dr. Quinto is an accomplished person and I believe he probably well liked by the AMA, the DEA, and other agencies that regulate health care because he is probably the type who toes the line with them. I believe Dr. Quinto is probably a very good entrepreneur as well having made many improvements to his office including an office expansion. CONS: Neither being a good entrepreneur nor being good at bureaucracy are synonymous with being a good doctor. Dr. Quinto is not empathetic and when he tries to be, it comes across like a used car salesman or a jock on the golf course. At times, he's just a downright ass. Worse, either he or his staff constantly get details wrong. I know that our medical system is in shambles due to over regulation and the flaws of Obamacare. I know that this has increased workloads and also mistakes. I know that folks like Dr. Q are in a bad position because of this. However, when I call to point out mistakes and ask that they are brought to the Dr's attention, I often get a call back from Dr. Quinto with gaslighting or explanations as if the mistake was my fault or that I was incorrect. Although it is admirable to defend his staff, it is another thing to believe himself infallible. The worst is how unfamiliar he is with my records. Example, I was taking a heart medicine that stated DO NOT TAKE Ibuprofen. Nonetheless, Quinto would regularly advise me to take it. If I was not so diligent and able to remind him, the combination could have given me a stroke or killed me. Another example, I take a medicine that says DO NOT SPLIT OR CRUSH. Dr. Quinto has regularly advised me to split the pill. Again, without my reminders that this was incorrect advice, the effects could be serious to fatal. I have many more examples. I need to find a new Dr. like Richard Bowling, but what if I get someone worse? read more

I have had Dr. Ernesto Quinto as my primary treating physician(PTP) for the past ten years or thereabouts. Dr. Quinto is a great PTP. He has always been able to figure out what is going on, when necessary, to refer me to specialists. When he advises me he/his staff will arrange this or that, i.e. referral to a doctor, diagnostic tests, they always do it. My PTP would not. I highly recommend Dr. Quinto, assuming you want an intelligent doctor. I should add that Dr. Quinto served in the mid-east, taking care of our troops in the region. Do not use this practice. I used to LOVE this practice until they got a new phone system and hired a VERY BAD referral person. They now answer their phone and fired that staffer but the staff still are untrained. I referred a friend Quinto and it took over 4 months to get a referral. My friend had to babysit his staff every step of the way, hand delivering documents to the specialist and making numerous follow up phone calls because there was ZERO trust the work would be done even w/ constant handholding!! What Dr. Quinto needs to do is what other Sacramento doctors, (Dr. Parsons & Dr. Sierra) did when they got a new phone system; close for a day or more to THOROUGHLY train his millenial staff. FIRST THOUGH HE NEEDS TO HIRE A BALLS-ON-FIRE OFFICE MANAGER. When my friend brought back the empty referral form from the specialist, my friend stood there while the office manager and the staff person tried to figure out the protocol for getting a referral. Wouldn't the office manager know that? Referrals are 80 percent (my guess) of what internists/general practitioners do! There is a disconnect with Quinto's office and electronic chart information. I worry about the patients who trust doctors and their staff and patients who do not have good follow-through skills. read more

Based on reviews, I called Dr. Quinto's office to make a new patient appointment. I was excited with the possibility of getting in to see him or his PA within a week as reviews said, as I had to get in asap. There was no answer, I left a vmm. Mark called me back. He said he would make an appointment but had question/s for me. The first thing he asked was, did I take anti-depressants? I said yes. He said Dr. Quinto did not prescribe anti-depressants. I said that was ok even as I thought "what?". At that point, instead of making an appointment, he said he would talk to the dr. and call me back. He did not. I gave it a couple days and called back. No answer again, which is not good for a PCP's office. Left a msg. for Mark, he never called back. So if you take anti-depressants, be warned: for some strange and weird reason, the dr. will not take you as a patient. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I agree, this doctor does not seem to have any compasion for his patients, especially those over 50 years old. All ailments are not age related as implied by this physician. When concerns of serious health complications arose, he just attributed it to age. Maybe a little bit more concern and less sarcasm would be more appropriate. read more
