Gregory Gerald Smith is listed on the On-Site MD website located at https://www.medicarelist.com/primary-care/on-site-mds-inc-sacramento-ca/. This doctor has a public letter of reprimand on file from 2020. I didn't verify any further business information because no one here solicited any business from On-Site MD. I suggest that if you are being called out of the blue or if you are a patient and have any concerns about the quality of your care, you reach out to the Medical Board or to your Medical Plan to discuss them. I was recently discharged from the hospital with two painful cellulitis/MRSA abscesses and trying to follow up with my PCP. I called on July 10th because I was in pain, on antibiotics, and struggling to walk. The woman who answered the phone had a foreign accent (I didn't catch her name), and when I explained what was going on and asked if I could be seen sooner than July 15th, she rudely told me to "just go back to the ER." This wasn't just frustrating, it was dangerous and completely dismissive. I left the call feeling scared and helpless, and this isn't the first time I've had a bad experience. Most of the time, the phone isn't even answered, which is why I usually avoid contacting my PCP at all. Because of this, I've decided to switch providers. Patients recovering from serious infections shouldn't be treated like they're a burden. I hope this office reflects on how urgent situations like this are handled going forward. read more

When I tried to call him and discuss my test he said he was out to lunch to call the office. I have no idea how to contact the office since they keep changing their menu and their office location, all of this after he initially called me a few weeks ago and told me that he didn't want me to be upset because my regular doctor wasn't seeing me even though I was making appointments and having to see other different doctors. They never seem to answer and then their voicemail states they'll give you a call back less than 24 hours but I never get a call back. On site MD.. medical staff seems to change a lot. If you need a referral, good luck with getting it completed. I have called and left several messages for Gracie their referral coordinator about optometry referral. She or no one from this office returns calls. Which is ridiculous when their voice message says their with patients and return call in 24 to 48 hours. Not the case, we had an appointment on September 25th whe the doctor stated he was sending the referral. To call in a week if we didn't hear anything. I have been leaving messages since then with still no call back or referral. Horrible patient care, holding up and not getting referrals done. Be cautious if you want to come here, especially if you need to be referred out for something. If a vendor goes in with food, they are more attentive to eating and talking then getting things done. read more

When I went to 7600 hospital Drive. I spoke with Doctor Layug regarding my liver possibly failing. She was very standoffish and had lack of empathy. I am on three different antidepressants that this doctor is supposed to be aware of because it's in my files I also see a head doctor for my severe depression at times. So I came back to my house depressed and feeling like crap after speaking with her and almost took my life. I grabbed a kitchen knife and went into my backyard sat there for a couple of hours and tried to kill my self. Unfortunately I realized there's no possible way to do that because I can't even kill a fly let alone myself. That's just not the way my brain works. First and foremost I hope whoever is reading this has good health for not only themselves and their family because if you are looking for a Dr., there is a chance that you need a Dr. opposed to wanting one. So I will start by saying I have never met Dr. GREGORY SMITH. I have had two doctors while at this practice. One was Dr. Agnes a nice African woman she was on Stockton Blvd and Citrus Heights and when Stockton closed she was mainly at the Folsom location. When she had help and not triple booked vs NO help was night and day. You could tell serious agitation when she was overwhelmed and it showed through her mood swing changes. I was her patient for a little over a year and for the rest of my three-year membership, I have been with Dr. Edward Arias. Dr. Arias is amazing he is quick, precise, and very relatable on the human side. There are certain restrictions doctors are bound by the powers that be so there will be times when you may need something but the doctor cannot Approve the search request now. Dr. Arias has always been very attentive and will always get back to me if a phone call is requested by me my mother also attends this practice and her doctor called in two days before she needed her medication and the type of medication she receive could not be refilled by just anyone, they tried to schedule my mom an appointment two weeks prior. I'm sorry two weeks after that day which would've been 12 days without medication. She gets very very excited and her anxiety kicks in at times 10 when she hears such things so I had to call Lynn and request the doctor Arias call me. He called me within a couple of hours and asked what was going on. I explained to him my mother's situation he immediately went into her chart And asked where the medication needed to go just for verification and then sent it easy that right there to me sums up the type of doctor he is we know everyone's bodies are different that's what makes us all unique something may hurt me at a level four, but they may hurt the next person level 10 yet when prescribing medication, they lump us all into general chart Dr. Arias will always go over and beyond for his patients. First off, Dr. Hackett is great. I'd give 5 stars for just him as he is quick efficient and seems to care about his patients. But the front desk office staff.. I'd give a single star. They don't answer the phone, they don't return messages -- I even tried to fax them and got no response. I was waiting for referrals to get blood work done and kept calling to see where they were.. no response, no call back. I had a follow up appt set up with Dr Hackett and everything was time sensitive. Even after I spent 15mn on hold and then attempted to make my first appointment with the office, that too was a mess as they double booked me. They left me a message while I was at work and Again began the painful process of trying to get a hold of them. On the first appointment I stood there trying to check in while the front desk gal ignored me then abruptly says 15$ copay. Then dropped a clipboard with paper work for me to fill out. So I took the clipboard and began to fill it out since she had disappeared. A moment later she reappeared and loudly says "can I get your copay now" so I got up and presented her with my card and asked where to leave my filled out paperwork. She didn't respond, ran my card and walked away again. So I standing at the window and asked again, what I should do with my paperwork? From somewhere she says to leave it there. Ok? So I leave all my phi on the counter for everyone to see? Doesn't seem right but ok?? Seriously, if you're able to get in with Dr Hackett he makes it worth the headache, and the nurse tech was real nice too.. But the front desk person... You know the face of your business... My last day at this office was standing room only in the waiting room. I have not needed a regular doctor in ten years, so I never bothered with one. March 2019 I felt fluid in my right ear and more importantly, I was only getting 3 hours of sleep at a time. (long story short: each time I went there it was someone else seeing me and knowing nothing of what was going on.) My first visit was for insomnia or a head and neck pain. I tried to bring one of the doctor's up to speed on my medical history, which he seemed to take a few notes, I noted my sleep, as well as a fullness feeling in my right ear. He checked the ear and said "looks okay", prescribed me a medication for sleep, ordered a blood test, and was ready to have me back in 3 months... That should have been my first red flag. The sleep medication did nothing so I scheduled another appointment, I was still feeling fluid in my right ear. This time, I get Greg smith himself, who didn't have any previous information... I also get confirmation of the fluid in my ear... so I am prescribed generic Claritin, generic Sudafed, and a bromide nasal spray... which should have all been my second red flag. The "pills" are kinda working but not really, I already discontinued the "sleep" aid. I have a ringing in my right ear, and it was sudden followed with some hearing loss. (Later I learn that had I received proper treatment I would have had a much greater chance of recovery) So another appointment, end up being with a medical assistant, who conducts a tuning fork hearing test and I get my ENT referral (which also gets a 1 Star detailed review for two minutes of seeing me and blowing me off) Two more times I go back and two more times I get new people and no one has a clue of what's going on. My prescriptions went from ZERO to a lot, and nothing was diagnosed, it was more just throw pills at is and see what happens. I switched to an entirely different office, put in a formal complaint with my insurance and medical board (for all the good that does). read more

The office reminded me of when I was a struggling single parent on welfare and the substandard, dirty offices of the old county hospitals were the only places that took medical/welfare patients. The doctors appear to be either straight out of school and not really well informed. Some of them are also chronically late. This office is horrible, and I would not recommend it at all. Find a better doctor. Staff at the office are very incompetent and don't seem to know what they're doing. When you try to call the office, you can never speak to someone immediately without having to go through their answering service. Even their answering service is providing incorrect information. If you get to the doctor's office, it never fails that the wait time in the lobby is an hour long. Once you've been taken into the room, it's another 30 minutes wait until you see a doctor. So the whole visit will take about two hours for a something minor or just a simple physical exam. They did not send their lab request as they said they would. They require an appointment to go back into the office to review the lab results, even if the lab results are normal, as it's their policy to do so. What a good way to claim to the insurance for another service provided, when a phone call can easily be made to the patient if results are abnormal. read more

Its been almost 3 years and NOTHING has changed! Service still SHITTY. How the HELL it take a whole fucken day to get a piece of paper for the pharmacy!!!!!! Are you kidding me. Arias is lousy!! He sends a Rx to the Pharmacy but DOESNT send the Treament plan which is always given with refills. Now it take the whole day just to get that paper. So we went there and of course we had to wait an hour! All this trouble could have been avoided if Arias just included the Treament plan!! How LAME is he and anyone can tell HE DOESN'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT ANYONE OR PROVIDE DECENT SERVICE!! He need to change jobs for everyone else's sake!!! Sad that you are just a number to them. Well my doctor has always been excellent I now have to deal with the staff of this office. No one answers the phone and no one will call you back when you leave a message. I can't even make an appointment. I finally made contact with office staff by walking into the lobby on my lunch break. Clear your day & pack a lunch when you schedule an appointment here. Wait times are ridiculous! Many times I've been scheduled for 9am appointments but the doctors don't arrive until 9:30 sometimes 10! When the pharmacy sends refill requests Dr Smith's office often doesn't answer for weeks at at time and good luck reaching someone when you try to call yourself. Although the staff is knowledgeable, if your PCP is Dr Smith, I would suggest you make your appointments at the Stockton Blvd location instead. read more

Dr was nice, but I need a surgery and have called 3 times a week for the past month and get the run around and Dr said the referral was sent twice, but when I call they say there is no referral. I am miserable and cannot get a surgery that could change my life! Very disappointed my health is not taken seriously and my life is so horribly being effected! I have an issue with an incompetent staff at Dr. Gregory Smith MD office. One they got a prescription wrong sent to the pharmacy. Another time they wrote the prescription one of his workers and the current pharmacy couldn't read it so I had to go back to the office and get a clear written prescription. Try calling the office to make an appointment that's almost impossible. I made an appointment waited an hour and a half to see the doctor and he was told that I wanted a phone conversation and I told him no that is not what I wanted. Hi recommend if he is your doctor and you had issues with his staff get on Yelp and Yelp it. After a very long phone call with a great representative for Health Net, my friend was finally connected to Dr. Gregory Smith's representative Elaine. My friend explained how long this medical case had been going with no help, to finally get a referral to a Urologist, and have COVID-19 strike the day of the appointment; this canceling said appointment 10 minutes before it was to start. My friend has been in the emergency room countless times risking getting COVID-19 to just be able to bare getting through the day. Emergency rooms can not perscribe narcotics, so my friend has been in pain now for well over 2 months! Elaine heard all this, and without skipping a beat said the first available appointment was May 18, 2020. This is May 4th. There was zero empathy, zero appologies, and zero professional kindness!! She I guess could not be bothered to place my friend on hold and perhaps talk to the Dr. to see if there was a way to get an earlier appointment to end my friends suffering! Is a Dr. not supposed to be in the buisness of helping and caring. Serious things can happen to my friend if to much time passes and that doesn't even cross the Health Care industries minds! If you have Health Net or any other I insurance that Mr Dr. Gregory accepts, send him a message and go ANYWHERE else!!! I can almost guarantee you will be treated faster and better, or at the very least get fake concern, instead of the I can't be bothered to care attitude you will get there!! My doctor recently joined up with this doctor and his office. I have been with my doctor for more than 20 years, I love him and his staff dearly and wouldn't change unless I absolutely have to. So far my experiences with this new office has been horrible. The office is small, crowded most of the time, and it's "dirty". Another thing about this facility, it's very hard to get a hold of particular people, and if you try to let the person who answered the phone help you, your most likely to get no where. Went into the office as an established patient of 4 yrs.on 4-8-19, as a walk-in when advised by Maribel on the phone( After calling 6 times before actually getting a person)@ 1:52 p.m.....When inquiring after 37 minutes of waiting where I was on the waiting list, Jasmine had the audacity to become debative, unprofessional, and confrontational ! In fact, my son has been a patient for more than a year and has YET to meet the actual doctor. PA's only, Rx's are wrong, and today he was told to come in as a walk-in due to the fact that he has had a fever for 5 days and is diabetic (and autistic) He gets there and is then told that he could wait in the office in case someone cancelled but they won't guarantee that he'll be seen even if he waited ALL DAY. Only reason to use Dr. Smith as your PCP is you have no other option. Dr. Smith has been my PCP (primary care physician)for 6 months. I was made to switch PCP's because the one I was seeing stopped taking my insurance. First new patient appointment was scheduled for over a month out. I ended up with a appointment at an earlier date, but the girl who called neglected to tell me my appointment would be at the Stockton blvd location. So I showed up to the hospital drive location only to be told I was at the wrong location. At the appointment I saw a PA not the Dr. Why did I have to wait so long just to see a PA? Second or third appointment the PA asked the girl at the front desk to print my lab results for me, when she handed them to me there was a few extra sheets of paper with another patients personal information. This is by far the worst office in Sacramento. They make appointments at yheir lunch hour and leave you in the office alone for a hour. They have up to 10 people who has same appoinment time.
