...The Dazzle Dry 2025 mani tour continues.... I made an appointment for a Dazzle Dry manicure. The location is a lot larger than it seems from the outside. There were about six nail stations and six chairs, and it seemed roomy and clean. There is a large screen TV in the center of the space, and it was playing "Julie and Julia," from 2009, starring Meryl Streep as Julia Child. The sound was off, captions were on. The story looked quite interesting, although I am not a fan of Meryl Streep. My technician, Jennifer, did a nice job, she fixed a nail that cracked, gave a nice hand massage and (bonus) a neck massage too. I liked that there were drying fans for each hand, and my nails look good. I thought it a little pricey compared to my recent manicures and the color selection was limited. I probably will come back after my DD tour of the area is concluded. read more

I have been a client on and off for at least 8 years maybe even more. I have seen nail techs come and go. I like this salon better than others in this area. I find it to be clean, sanitary and very relaxing. A sign "refrain from talking on cell phones is posted." This is a good thing since the salon is compact & quaint. They offer a movie which I'd rather view over the news or talk show. The techs are friendly and accommodating. Tools used are sanitized and packaged for each client. They offer a slew of nail polish brands and colors. After visiting several times you will become acquainted with the techs and find the one tech that suits your needs. Not all techs are created equal and that goes on in any salon. Giving them 5 stars, my nails have never looked better. I like the Dazzle Dry Polish, it dries hard in 5 min and stays on all week. I will continue to visit this salon. read more

Nice atmosphere! Great little nail salon. My go-to spot in Lake Forest for manicures snd pedis! The staff is friendly, the shop is always neat and clean, and they run great movies on a big screen for clients, usually funny chick flicks! Great color selections. Give it a try! read more

I went in the day before my wedding for a pedicure. I have gone to Gina's dozens of times and have never had an issue. I went in with no-chip polish on and the woman doing my nails too a drill and chipped all of it away (not just the top layer). My mother also had no chip on and the woman removing her no-chip took off just the top layer and then placed cotton balls of acetone with foil around each toe. I thought it was suspicious that the woman removing my polish had not done the same, but trusted her judgement. She proceeds to paint my toes and I ask why my nails look so bumpy. She said the no-chip polish which I had only had on for 10 days had ruined my nails. I ask if she can do anything to make them look okay as the next day was my wedding. She tried to add another layer of polish, but no lucky. They had me pay in full along with the $5 to remove the no-chip and then asked me for a tip at the end of my service. By this point in time, I was in tears and went home and removed all of the polish to realize she had drilled almost all of my nail off of each toe. Each of the nail beds were bright red and the tips of my toes were cracking as they were so thin. The day of my wedding it hurt to walk as she had destroyed all of my nails. I wish they had apologized and refunded me as it has now been over two weeks and my nails are still bumpy and horribly thin. read more

This nail salon absolutely rocks. I've been coming here for about five years and never had a single problem. I really appreciate the fact that they have never rejected me for a walk-in. The ladies here are super friendly and very precise with their work. The salon itself is pretty small, so when it gets busy it feels a bit crammed. It's really no biggie though. The work they do is excellent. Another plus is they always have a movie playing! That's such a brilliant idea because I don't know about you ladies, but I think getting my nails done is super boring. I need some entertainment! Anyways, I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a nail salon! read more

Very friendly and accommodating but definitely call before walking in. Color selection is good. Love the movies they play.

A wonderfully executed mani-pedi. Massages included and even a back rub. The service was polite and kind. The hostess/owner was also very intuitive. I'm from out of town and would come back if I visited the area again. The place was clean and soothing. And the prices were great for what you want! read more

$20 manicure. Are you kidding? I was expecting to pay $12 maybe $15 max and then I saw the total on my card. I then walked out after my manicure without giving a tip because I was VERY disappointed and she proceeded to chase me out the door and ask me to give a tip to my technician. $25 manicure all together and not worth it. DONT GO HERE!! So rude and ridiculous. read more

Visited last week for the first time. Be prepared to spend $40 on a 20 minute pedicure. Not impressed at all and the price is ridiculous. The place was empty when other places were booked solid....that should have been my first clue. Needless to say, will not be back. read more

My family loves tips to toes, we go there for every occasion and just for fun! They are so kind and make it easy to relax and enjoy! For anyone in the comments who is complaining- this what mani/pedis cost on the northshore (for a clean place who give great mani/pedis and have exceptional service!) $50-60 is nothing to have both done. read more

I give them only one star because I can't give them "zero" stars. My experience was really terrible, worse then any other in my whole life. It is unbelievable: I have been forced in really mean way, to leave before my nails were dried off. That was a day when I supposed be at a wedding party, the owner literally ruined my day, after I left I went to a different place where they did a perfect job. The facility has not enough equipment to make every client comfortable. Owner's demeanor, attitude and manners are totally unacceptable, especially in the place like Lake Forest. Rudeness and really unprofessional behavior, especially when this place is crowded (Saturday). Stay away from this place. read more

Am new to the area so thought I'd try this place cuz it was close to my home. Very professional and efficient! Had both manicure and pedicure done by the same person (Jane) within an hour and she did a great job, including a short neck massage! Was used to California pricing where there's a nail place on every corner and you get both for $25 so was a little surprised it was $50 for both. It was worth it and I'll go back but wish I had more cash in my wallet to tip better! read more

I had the worst manicure of my life here when the technician literally cut off a piece if my finger which bled for over 30 minutes. They had no antibiotic or band aids-unbelievable. Luckily a nurse was getting her nails done next to me and insisted they go out and buy the band aids and antibiotic. No apology or effort to make things right. Stay away! read more

It has been two years since I've written a review on Tips & Toes in Lake Forest, IL. I am still a very satisfied customer and can't even think of going anywhere else. The salon never smells of toxic chemicals caused from artificial nails, they are super clean and now offer a wider variety of polish colors and brands, including longer lasting polishes that contain safe non toxic ingredients. They care about their customers and show it by add on services at no charge, which no other salon does. During the cold winter months they bath your hands in warm melted wax and wrap them up in plastic. Prior to your nail treatment they remove the wax and leaving your hands feeling extremely soft and well moisturized. And that is at No Charge....You get a warm herbal neck wrapped over your shoulders and a light massage while your nails are being heated under a warm moist cloth. And if your there for the full hour and half you get to catch a movie while relaxing. The women are pleasant and a joy to be with. When I leave this place I am so relaxed, and all for a small charge of $50.00 plus tip.....if you have the longer lasting polish its an extra $5.00, but worth it. Love this place! read more
