It's very relaxing sipping on a cortado in a nearly empty coffee shop watching backed up lines circle around 7 Brew. Did you know Kaapeh House also has a drive thru? It's only a matter of time until this best kept-secret is let out of the bag. Anyway, the shop is super adorable. It reminds me of a miniature McNay and Press Coffee up in San Antonio, since it's covered in framed art pieces, and has a loft section. They have a respectable-sized menu, with your standard offerings. I brought my parents with me, and they had two white mocha lattes, and I had a mocha latte and a cortado. The cortado was good - not the best, but it was enjoyable. The mocha - I'm still sipping on it as I type this, to be honest. I'm trying to savor it. It's sweet and delicious, and has a very cozy feeling about it that I'm trying to zero in the source - I think it's the viscosity. The baristas are really cool - one had bright pink hair. She was very nice and complimented my hair, too. The guy I think was still learning? He was also very nice and he made and delivered our drinks. I swear, every time I swing by Brownsville, there's a new coffee shop to try out. I love this new trend, because they've all been pretty impressive. Kaapeh House is no exception. I'd definitely come back, especially to enjoy the art and atmosphere.

Decided to take a chance and went to Kaapeh next door. This place is a freaking hidden gem!! Such a cool vibe inside but there IS a Drive thru also. Let me tell you it was not all that impressive…read more Neither the waitress nor the woman at the counter spoke English, and when I ordered milk to drink the waitress didn't seem to hear me and asked the same question three times until I picked iced tea. It was rather odd. Not sure if she was deliberately being rude or if she was a little hard of hearing... either way that's points down for the restaurant. The food wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. Personally my fajita taco was absolutely delicious, but then, as the boyfriend says, "how do you screw up fajita!?" The iced tea tasted like chemical water, and when eventually I did get the waitress to understand that I just wanted some leche (milk), it was warm when she brought it to me, like it had been sitting out of the fridge for at least fifteen minutes. Ick. The bathrooms were very clean, so that's a plus. The rest was all right. The waitress did not wipe down the table we were seated at until after we were sitting down, which is kind of a minus. The prices were exactly what you'd expect for this sort of thing, though to be fair the portion sizes were huge. My verdict is: It would be a good place to stop by if you had no other options, but as it's surrounded by other, superior places to eat, don't bother.

My family of 15 stopped by and ordered many dishes off the menu and each one of them were not disappointing. From the menudo to the entomatadas it was great. I live in El Paso and this restaurant will forever be our place of choice every time I come back home. If you want great "comida de la casa" or "Mexican comfort food" stop by. Great food for a great price in a great location.
