Coffee and art your vibe? Come visit Kaapeh House off Paredes Ln Rd. Kaapeh is next to Breadsmith,…read moreand a stone's throw from 7 Brew. It's very relaxing sipping on a cortado in a nearly empty coffee shop watching backed up lines circle around 7 Brew. Did you know Kaapeh House also has a drive thru? It's only a matter of time until this best kept-secret is let out of the bag. Anyway, the shop is super adorable. It reminds me of a miniature McNay and Press Coffee up in San Antonio, since it's covered in framed art pieces, and has a loft section. They have a respectable-sized menu, with your standard offerings. I brought my parents with me, and they had two white mocha lattes, and I had a mocha latte and a cortado. The cortado was good - not the best, but it was enjoyable. The mocha - I'm still sipping on it as I type this, to be honest. I'm trying to savor it. It's sweet and delicious, and has a very cozy feeling about it that I'm trying to zero in the source - I think it's the viscosity. The baristas are really cool - one had bright pink hair. She was very nice and complimented my hair, too. The guy I think was still learning? He was also very nice and he made and delivered our drinks. I swear, every time I swing by Brownsville, there's a new coffee shop to try out. I love this new trend, because they've all been pretty impressive. Kaapeh House is no exception. I'd definitely come back, especially to enjoy the art and atmosphere.

I took my aunt here on a little date and I was so impressed. It's spacious and beautifully decorated inside, with plenty of natural light and greenery. Some treats line the walls, organic takes on a favorite Mexican treat: Obleas. The matcha one in particular looked really tasty. I ordered a Glow Lavender smoothie and it was sooo pretty. My aunt ordered the Green Tea Matcha smoothie and honestly, I preferred hers. The matcha paired wonderfully with the banana. For brunch, I had an omelette topped with salsa. The veggies were tender and the jalapeno they snuck inside wasn't spicy at all. But the refried beans served on the side were absolutely delicious! My aunt ordered the chilaquiles with a sunny side up egg on top and, again, she had the winning dish. From what I tasted, it was just so fresh, light, and tasty. Now that I know what I've been missing, I'll be sure to visit again.

The overall feel and vibes of the restaurant were very nice. There was also a swing at the outside of the place. The eggs were a little bland and got cold pretty quick. The turkey bacon and the Pancakes were great but could've had some more suryup. Also there was no line to order and we got our food in under 10 minutes. 4.3 stars.
