I have heard many great things about Ginas and they were very true! I desperately needed a haircut and I called last minute and they took me right in! The girls were all do pleasant and seemed like they really love what they are doing!! I got a trim and a hair tattoo that was done really well. We had also talked about doing some colour or extensions and I'm very excited to get them done! Last thing is the price, the prices for everything are amazing!! I get my hair cut by 'Andrea'. It's great service but it's not cheap (a bit more than $30 bucks for a men's haircut) but Andrea does a great job and it's a nice place. I've had haircuts all over the map so working with clients, and already lookin a bit younger than some of clients expect, I don't really chance it. I don't know if it's the way Andrea does it, but insofar as the haircut, she typically does 2 shampoos + haircut and then a wash after. I get offered tea, coffee, lemonade, etc. but I don't usually get anything but it is a nice touch. Finding parking here (really) sucks though. If it's close to lunch or rush hour, forget trying to park behind or in front of this place. I have yet to figure out where the alternate parking lot is (I'm told there is one), but one place that's close is on the street next to the Silver Spur. As far as bookings go, I have a fairly flexible schedule so I just call a day or two in advance. As I understand it most people aren't around on Sundays or Mondays and I try not to go the few days before long weekends when it's a zoo. The experience started off well until the complimentary eyebrow waxing happened. A layer of skin got taken off. I was told to pay the full price of the facial until a manager would call me the next day to discuss the refund. I never received a call the next day so I called back in. Coincidentally, the manager was still not in. They promised a call back ASAP. It has now been two weeks and I have yet to hear from them about my refund. I have some scarring and photos to prove. I have been coming to Gina's since 2005, when my (then) boss gave me a voucher for a pedicure. That first pedicure changed me! I had always felt self-conscious about my feet, but with a pedicure taking off the dead skin and making the nails trimmed and beautiful, I realized I could love my feet! I became a pedicure addict! Since then, I have been a regular at Gina's for pedicures and facials. I live in Toronto, and I have tried pedicures here, but I haven't found any place as professional and as sensitive as the staff at Gina's. This means I make monthly visits back to Waterloo to visit family and get my spa on! The staff at Gina's care about the health of your feet, and I have some nails that tend to get in-grown, and they have helped me learn how to cut the nail to avoid getting in-grown nails. I don't get them anymore, which I attribute to having pedicures at Gina's and learning from them. The facials are amazing too, and I am a dedicated user of the RVB line of products that Gina's offers. This place is legit, professional, clean, and absolutely the best. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any type of service industry. I had dark brown hair and wanted to dye it blonde. It took seven long, and painful, hours because I had like 10 pounds of tinfoil on my head. I endured all of this for the most horrid results. My hair was extremely patchy, green, and had random segments which were silver... basically nothing like the platinum blonde colour I wanted. Multiple people also oversaw my hair, so it wasn't just the fault of one hairstyle, but the systematic incompetence of the business. My friend, who is 20 years old and has never went to beauty school, even recognized that they should have bleached my hair a second time, but they did not. When I went to a different salon they stylists there were likewise shocked at how bad my hair looked. They again confirmed that it should have been bleached twice, and that Gina's also over-toned my hair. Clearly, then, they don't understand basic techniques of colouring hair blonde. I also had to call three times to finally talk to someone who could discuss refunds with me. I wasted so much time only for them to tell me they "don't do refunds." What kind of bs? What kind of reputable business doesn't provide refunds when the product or service they offer isn't on par? And I wasted a criminal amount of money to get disgusting hair. It was $370. That's too much to begin with and they overcharge for all of their treatments. Also, when discussing how to solve this situation, even though I explicitly said I did not want to come back to the salon to get it fixed, they put the stylist who messed up my hair on the phone with me. A little inappropriate in my opinion because I didn't want to hurt her feelings and so I felt backed into a corner to make an appointment there to get it fixed, which I soon after cancelled. Please don't go to this place. Clearly they don't know what they're doing and their customer service is appalling. For the past week I have been truly EMBARRASSED to leave my house because my hair is so bad. Also, I'm still absolutely furious I didn't get ANY kind of refund, so save yourself from getting scammed like I did. read more

I was surprised by how cold their facility and unfriendly their personnel were. My 15 min steam session was only about 10 min long and it was freezing in the room near the 8 min mark! The massage was decent at best but the experience felt too "corporate". I won't recommend this place for the amount they charge. read more

I always drive an hour to get a Spice facial from Aimee- they are amazing!! I haven't used any of the other amenities besides the occasional pedicure, but they have a variety of spa services. It's always crowded no matter the time of day, so they must be good!! read more

Amanda is awesome! She's cut my hair a few times now and every time I do, I'm always getting raving compliments from strangers and friends. She's very nice and really listens to what I want to do with my hair. I've only had the chance to get my hair cut here--haven't tried their other spa services, but it seems like everyone is very courteous. read more

Great place with capacity for a group of friends to all get a day at the spa together but just to caution, in order book a group of 4 to have a pedicure all in the same time slot we had to book 4 weeks ahead. On the expensive side for price and parking is very limited! Over all I would say it's ok salon for the money. read more

Not a great place... Went for a massage and shellac manicure... The massage was ok, I was not in a zen mood post the massage... There was no steam provided.... i went home oily basically... The shellac manicure was very poor. They do not know how to take out cuticles. Must have had a newbie as I didn't even get a complementary heated towel. The shellac manicure basically came out in two days from the sides. A mess... I was from out of town so couldn't have gone back... overall poor service and there are much better places to pamper you than Gina's. Not impressed... I have never has such a horrid pedi in my life! I usually can get through a year with 4 pedi's because my nails grow so slowly. By the second day after my pedi my big toe had no nail polish on it and by 3 weeks after there was no nail polish on any of my toes. This was the biggest waste of money ever! I can go and get a pedi at the local nail place and my nails will look beautiful for months! I will never go to Gina's again! read more

zara waterloo, Hi, I am going Gina spa since four five years front desk people are very friendly and welcoming but unfortunately their aesthetic staff don't has enough knowledge and experience i have brown spots on my face these kind melasma i went first time in gina couple years before for consultation and their one esthetition suggest microdermabration and i bought 6 treatment those she suggest and after six treatments i noticed my facial skin so soft but nothing change in discoloration and this summer i went again may they have better solution for me they suggest 5 to 6 IPL treatments and those treatments even did not work for me but some area of my face makes more bad and i searched on internet if those spots melasma kind then IPL treatments makes more worst your condition.I wish i did this search before spending 6 to 8 hundreds i waist not only my money but i got more worst skin discoloration. I thought they are experienced people they suggest me better solution but I was wrong totally wrong . Maybe my review save someone hundred dollars and skin also. read more

I had one of the worst massages today at Gina's. I made a spur-of-the-moment appointment for an hour long massage with one of their RMT's - what an incredible waste of money ($92). I was in a lot of pain, so I thought I'd get the relief needed, BIG mistake. The RMT couldn't be bothered to even attempt at getting the knots out of my back, when I specifically requested the main focus be back and neck. He would bulldoze right over the knots, and not give any real attention. The pressure went from either non-existent to painful, but mostly just non-existent.. even after me saying when the pressure felt good (on occasion). He asked how my neck and back were doing after he massaged those areas and I said they still felt tense, but he did nothing more (we had about 30 more minutes to go). The scalding wash clothes that were used were an attempt to wipe off the entire bottle of massage oil he doused me with. So much oil was used that I had stains all over my new sweater I had bought about 3 weeks ago. Then, at the end of the appointment, he said he was sorry that he couldn't get any of the knots out. WTF? Isn't that what I just paid you 100 dollars to do? Incredible. What kind of credentials do you need to get hired as a masseuse? I'm so mad. I want a refund. read more

They were incredibly rude, and they took their sweet time with the service. They don't seem to be organized at all. They turn them out at that school of theirs and the students either don't know what they're doing or are left traumatized by the experience. I should know - I went to that school. Getting my nails done there was my attempt to just get over the horrible treatment I received at the school, but apparently they're all the same. Take my advice and don't go there. And if you're considering applying to their school, don't and save the money you'll spend on tuition, supplies, and textbooks, and on therapy afterwards. read more
