Went in today for a deep conditioning treatment and blow dry session with JL. She helped me deduce my extreme dry hair condition and also suggested product to help improve the condition of my hair. Just came back home and I'm happy to say that the extreme dry patch I have is gone with just one treatment! I really happy and would definitely go back again. read more

My first impression was great, the staff were all really friendly, the displays were easy to find what you were looking for, and after a fresh colour I left feeling amazing. I just wanted to add to my review that throughout my appointment Melissa, the senior stylist doing my cut kept trying to up sell me products and pressure me into buying a product we were discussing, pretending at the end of the cut, when I was ready to pay and leave that I agreed to buy it, even though I did not, and trying to put it on my bill. The reason someone asks questions of a hair stylist is because they need advice, maybe, a product suggestion, BUT NOT an up sell or being pressured into buying something. And all this was on top of their already deceptive and dishonest pricing. This is not a good way to do business. read more

Went there because of the reviews & but found my experience very disappointing. I was put with a junior stylist who didn't smile from the start , seemed to not like her job much & just went through the motions. I had long hair and wanted color highlights on the part that had grown out, so it should have been easy to match the colors. The price was ridiculously expensive and I could tell the expectation was for a big tip. I will never go back, the highlight job was completely sub-par and the color didn't match & faded. Stylist late 15 minutes for my appt and then didn't listen to a word I said about what I wanted. Very engaging but wanted to take me right to the sink without checking in with me on what I wanted. Nice folks but very disappointing for a first timer. Probably won't go back. read more

I went to Pure to have my hair coloured to a platinum blonde or a very light blonde. My hair had already been highlighted from a different salon (with growth) and I would describe it as a medium-light blonde. The atmosphere was nice and the salon was fairly large. Right when I walk in, the person working at the front desk tries to sell me hair products (I usually don't like being bothered to buy anything but I listened). After talking to me about the products, I was taken to get my hair done. My stylist was very nice and I showed her a picture of what I wanted. I then figured out that she was new (not just to the salon but a new hairdresser who must have just finished school). She had to ask the other stylists for help on how she should go about colouring my hair. One of the stylists looked at the picture I brought and asked me if I wanted a full head of highlights or all over on-scalp colour. I told her that I didn't know and that I just want it to look like the picture so whatever she would recommend. For some reason they still wanted me to decide even though I am not a professional so I said all over colour as that is what the picture looked like. Finally, the process started and I started to feel a little uneasy. I felt this way because my stylist (the new one) needed help the whole time and had to ask a lot of questions to another stylist who seemed to be busy with another client. I normally wouldn't care that much if someone is new but going a very light blonde should be left to someone with experience. I had never been to Pure before either and feel that I should have been booked with someone who knows a little bit more about blonde hair. When I called to book my appointment, I told them that I was new to the salon and wanted someone who can give me nice blonde colour. I felt kind of bad for my stylist because she couldn't really get any help from the others as they were busy with clients of their own. After going through the process, I was finally done. What I was left with was a light blonde that was more on the yellow-orange side then I wanted but one of the stylists who was helping mine told me that if I didn't like the tone of my hair in other light (like at home or outside) then I could come back and possibly have it toned again. I then payed for my appointment and also bought three hair products. When I got home, I didn't like how my hair looked at all. It was more of a brassy blonde then a cool light blonde like the picture. I washed my hair a couple of times with purple shampoo to see if it would help. It definitely helped but it was still too yellow for me. Also, one of the products I bought wouldn't pump. I decided to give them a call and see if my hair could possibly be toned some more and if I could replace one of the products I purchased. They booked me in the day I called. When I went to the salon they replaced my product and tried to convince me that my hair wasn't yellow or brassy. They then said that they couldn't tone it because it would just darken my hair and I couldn't get it lighter or I would have to sign a waiver incase it would damage my hair. I was really disappointed because I didn't think it would be that hard to get my hair that blonde (as it was already blonde before). Since they couldn't do anything for me, they offered to tone my hair for free (or it was a discount, I can't remember) the next time I have to get my hair done. I was almost in tears as I just paid a good amount of money to have my hair look like a cheap blonde and not like the picture. I accepted their apologies and the "discount" for next time and left. Needless to say, I never returned and don't plan on ever going back. read more

Really disappointed with my haircut. Wanted a blunt cut bob, ended up with so many layers it will take over a year to grow out. Specifically told the stylist that I needed my hair long enough to put up. It is now too short and with the layers sticks out all over when I do try. Won't be going back ever. read more
