It seems I am one of the last remaining neighbors on my block that does not have a gate for my driveway. I took a look on Yelp and found that these folks are close and convenient so I called for an estimate. So far in my estimate gathering I have found that their pricing seems pretty fair. They were not the cheapest, but they were far from the most expensive. That impresses me even more because the metal they use on the frames and the motors they quoted me on seem to be of some of the top quality that are available currently. I also like that they repair as well as install, as I want to utilize a company that does both. My time with the estimator was very pleasant. He was professional and informative and he made sure I was aware of things I, or anyone shopping for gates, needs to be aware of before purchasing. I have not made a final decision yet, but when I do, I will update the review of the company I end up going with, along with photos on my new gate!

Several who claimed 24 hr service went straight to voice mail. The technicians showed up within the first 30 min of the appointment window and quickly diagnosed the broken spring. They also figured out that my "emergency" lock was not even connected. That saved them from having to drill it out and they made quick work of replacing the archaic single spring mechanism with a lifetime dual spring setup AND a lock that's actually connected. I didn't expect Craddock, with its relatively high-property-value location in the heart of the Medical District, to have the cheapest prices, but they did. Craddock's price was in some cases HALF of what other lumber yards quoted me (I wonder if those other places were upcharging because they realized they had the homeowner on the line and thought I was incapable of comparison shopping). Craddock also had wonderful customer service, and delivery only cost $50. Tell your contractor.

We had a different experience than CR's review, it was very good. First of all, we've hired other contractors with crews and once they get the job there is no project management, it was different with Gil's, the crew was checked on, materials showed up on time, all of the old fencing was disposed of, and I talked to project manager daily- either he called me, or if I had a question my call was always answered. The week we had our fence done it was raining and cold, but the guys stayed with it and completed it (approx. 200' of board on board, with retaining wall and top cap) fence in four days. In my opinion the quality is great, they used good hardware, the proper nails (it makes a difference), put in plenty of poles, and the stain seems to be good. Additionally, the crew installing the fence knew what they were doing and how to do it and I couldn't be happier with the final project. Punch list items- zero. The fence wasn't cheap, but it was competitive with the other two quotes I got. From my experience I would recommend them to family and friends. read more

I saw the other bad review - must not have been Gil's Fence. We used them and they did and excellent job. We get people stopping by asking us who did our fence. The guys were super fast and friendly, took 2 days to tear down our old chainlink fence and build the new 6' cedar horizontal fence.
