They sold my neighbor and I on a retaining wall. Tried multiple times to charge for services they never completed or that we did not ask for. This included the proper drainage and then trying to add on $600+ for rocks to the top of the dirt instead. Upon installation, they didn't put the proper lining down for rain and drainage and they use untreated cheap wood - it is already breaking in less than 6 months! The entire wall was put on unevenly, the metal tops were not attached on correctly and the panels were left with large spaces. All in all- it was a rush job that was done by ameteurs. To make matters worse, turns out they broke my sprinkler pipe. Extremely aggressive about charging for everything but provided a very poor quality of service. When I reached out regarding the untreated (already cracking) wood, alongside the broken sprinkler pipe. I received a short email response stating they would come out on a Saturday to discuss and look at everything. Instead, I received another email the next day that they came out on a weekday- decided there were no issues, and have heard nothing since. I am still under the one year warranty and am obviously being ignored. Probably the worst contractors I've worked with. read more

Very disappointed with my experience. Don't get me wrong, the people that work for this company seem to be nice people, but the service I received (or lack thereof) was very unprofessional. The salesman (who shall remain unnamed) came to my house 3 separate times to look at the roof for a quote, but never bothered to call me ahead of time when I specifically requested MULTIPLE times a 30 minute heads up. I had to rush home from work every time. Furthermore, it has been over a week and I have not yet received a quote for my roof. I was told last Friday that he would call/email me ASAP. It is now Thursday and I have not received a word. I guess they just do not want my business, which is a shame because I was looking to get my entire roof replaced. I would caution anyone who wants to work with this company, stay away! Long story short: waited 4.5 months for engineer drawings to be completed and to get permits approved through the city of Fort Worth. Moore Construction wanted to charge $20k OVER the agreed price... and after looking at the engineer drawings, they weren't even correct. Long story long: Signed with Moore Construction beginning of Oct, 2021. Was told from Construction Manager Chris Lea "2 weeks to start construction and 2 weeks to finish" which I thought was a little too optimistic but signed anyways. We wanted permits through the city and were told we would need engineer drawings per the city's requirements. Moore Construction regularly uses Nick Manesh Engineering which is who they went through for our project. Moore Construction gave us a start date of Dec 16, 2021 but as it approached, we were told they were nowhere near ready to start building. They showed up, unannounced, 2 the day before on Dec 14, 2021 with the engineer to take measurements and the lumber was even delivered on our front porch on Dec. 15, 2021 (even though the project was nowhere near a start date). We waited 2 more months until mid-February, 2022. Every time I asked for an update I'm given the runaround; blaming the engineers for not delivering. Moore Construction took no responsibility for the delays. When the engineer drawings were finally delivered, we were told it was going to cost $20K more because of what the engineers wants to do and Moore Construction HAD to do what the engineers said. The company also tried to charge us $3,600 for engineer fees since we went through the engineer company. At no point over 4.5 months were we EVER told (verbally or written) the engineer drawings would be an added fee. The was nowhere in the contract that stated an extra fee for engineer drawings either (they actually added a line into the new contract they wanted us to sign). Chris Lea then tried to blame us for engineer fees because we wanted the project to be legit. He claimed we asked for the engineer drawings which was a flat out lie. I even caught him in this lie in my emails with him. The owner of Moore Construction, along with other employees, openly complained to me about Chris Lea on multiple occasions, stating he constantly "over promises and under delivers" but they were not going to do anything about it. The situation got so bad, I demanded Chris Lea be taken off our project altogether because I did not trust him. In the end, we settled on paying for half the engineer drawing fees with the owner of Moore Construction so we wouldn't have to get lawyers involved and to be done with the company forever. We did get the engineer drawings, but after sending them to another contractor to look over, the drawings were useless to us because they did not have the patio structure tied into the roof of our home like we said in our initial meeting 4.5 months prior. It was drawn as a standalone structure - which looking back on it now accommodates for the extra $20k they were trying to charge. So either the message was not relayed to the engineering firm correctly or no one noticed, but either way Moore Construction looked over the most important, and most basic, aspect of the project. We are now 4 weeks into a new contract with Christian Carpentry and we already have 3D rendered drawings, an approved permit and a start date. I highly recommend Moore Construction. I used them to replace a roof and address some other damage from a house I own in Plano, TX. Although right after the large hail storm that moved through this area in spring 2016 caused quite a bit of backlog on roofers and construction trades, Miguel from Moore Construction was able to get over to my property, make an assessment, get me scheduled and get my roof replaced. Miguel was very easy and very flexible and him and his crew worked around several schedule conflicts. Not only did Miguel get my roof replaced (along with getting other hail damage addressed), but he worked closely w my insurance company to ensure all the damage was taken in account and I was fully reimbursed for all the work that was performed. Contractors they hired to replace my roof and repair fascia and soffit did quality work. Communication on sales rep Miguel H. side could greatly be improved with more consistent follow up. I also experienced a couple of circumstances when work order was drafted, it did meet expecations set out by Moore Constucruction. In these instances they had to request for additional money from the insurance and it also involved additional out of pocket expenses. Advice to anyone searching for roofing companies, it's a competitive business and this company is no different then any company wanting a sale. Get multiple quotes and don't feel pressured selecting this company under the pretense you are getting the best deal. Needed to get my roof replaced and so contacted 4 contractors to get quotes... all from Yelp. Moore Construction was one of them. They came out fairly short notice, took a look, gave a quote. I had quite a bit of soffit damage as well. All that was rolled into the quote which was pretty much in line with the other contractors. They also provided a nice 3rd party financing option which is why I ultimately chose them... being tax season and all. My schedule was complicated due to my upcoming business travel, but getting the repair done was a priority for me, especially given Spring coming up (or just arriving).They were able to get the repair scheduled quick-quick and the project took less than a day. In the end, I couldn't be happier with the results. Miguel was a rock-star and the crew that worked on my house did a fantastic job. I highly recommend Moore Construction. Had them come out and replace the siding on my house last Saturday. They did a great job, love the work they did. But they left materials in my driveway claiming they'd come get it Monday. Not happy about that, they should have taken it with them, but they said they'd get in Monday, so no big deal. Monday I get home from work and it's still there. Tuesday I get home from work and it's still there. My mother called to follow up and they said they'd come get it Wednesday or Thursday. I found that uncommitted response unacceptable so I called their after hours answering service and said they needed to have it out Wednesday without question. Wednesday I get home from work and this stuff is still in my driveway...4 days after the job is complete. So I call their after hours answering service again and leave a message again and also call the cell-phone number provided, but nobody answers or responds. So I load it in my truck and post a review on their facebook page saying how dissatisfied I was and I'd be taking it to the dump. They respond to the facebook post and say they will come get it the following day. Thursday I get home from work and it's still there in the bed of my truck. Friday I get home from work and it's still there. So I respond on the previous facebook post again expressing dissatisfaction and the guy tries to argue with me about "miscommunication". There's no miscommunication. You gave three dates (Monday Wednesday and Thursday) of when this stuff would be picked up, but it's still here. My driveway is not a public storage facility or dump site. This shows me that this company doesn't stand by their word, which makes them liars and they have no respect for their customers property which means they have no integrity. Called back two days later to reschedule and I haven't heard from him since. I have a small job, which I indicated right up front. I understand not wanting to take small jobs or not having time for them. However, he could have just cut the crap and told me he didn't want the job. Todd came out to assess a leak in our roof and was very professional and friendly. He came out a week later to fix it but it was raining so he put a tarp up to prevent anymore water leaking in. He showed up the next day (Sunday) to complete the repair! I've already recommended them to a co-worker and plan on using them in the future. I'll remove the buckets we had placed up in the attic to catch water in the next day or so and update this review if there is still any sign of leakage. If I don't update it, there was no leak! Only one tiny issue - he didn't have the capability to accept a card. read more

Shout out to #Mooreconstruction company. They installed a fence for me last month.We were heading out on vacation and needed the dogs to be secured so they squeezed us in before we left. While digging the holes for the fence posts they accidentally severed the electrical wires to the sprinkler timer. When we got home from vacation our lawn was turning brown so we assumed the timer was old and had broken. We called a handyman, George Callicut, to install the new timer and he discovered the severed lines. Moore Construction paid George to make necessary repairs and refunded me the cost of the timer since my original wasn't actually broken. I recommend them highly. Update...I'm changing my rating to a 3 Star because the front gate keeps leaning in and we can't open it...they've come out 3 times to repair it but all they do is shave the end board so it will close...for a while...till it leans again. I don't know anything about construction but I assuming re-setting the post would be the correct answer to the problem. They have literally shaved the end piece of wood so much that it is thin and it still doesn't keep the gate from leaning in again and we cannot open the gate from that side of the house at all. I am done calling them to repair the issue. At this point I'll just pay somebody else to come out and do it properly. read more

I would give zero stars if possible!!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE DO NOT HIRE Moore Construction !!!!!!! This is the most unprofessional company/group of people I've ever had the misfortune to deal with. They do sloppy work, they have no respect for a homeowners or their property! Just to start out with the small stuff: They repeatedly came to my home unannounced, they spilled paint in my driveway, took wind chimes down and threw them on the ground without care. However, the real problem is that they PURPOSELY DAMAGED MY ROOF. I did not realize it right away, but when they put the gutters back on my home, after replacing fascia, they put the gutter grates under my shingles in a way that made the shingles raise up off of the roof. When I contacted them to express my concern, I was screamed at by the project lead, Andrew Bishiri ,that never actually saw the project ( this guy is a real piece of work). As if in punishment for my inquiry they sent someone to my home (while I was gone) who nailed through the top middle of my shingles, through the gutter grate, into my roof. Yes, nailed through the top of my shingles. Of course I contacted them again only to be laughed at and told they couldn't comment on the problem. I had to have another roofing company come out to assess the damage, they wrote a brief synopsis of the damage and encouraged me to get Moore to own up and fix it. BIG MISTAKE! Moore Construction came back to my home (unannounced). They were asked by my friend to please wait for me to come out to speak with them, Van Slatton became belligerent, said he didn't understand why he had to wait for the homeowner and said he would leave and not come back, then proceeded to tell my friend to F*** Off. He was shown the property line. BTW- I have the whole situation recorded and downloaded from my Ring cam. On it you can hear Van and his coworker talking about how you don't put nails through the tops of shingles!! So they know they did wrong....Either way, I will have to hire another company to fix my roof (that was not damaged before Moore Construction came on the scene). The business owner wont respond or acknowledge that his employees have extremely poor behavior, lack of work ethic, and lack of construction knowledge. I cant express enough how you will be screwing yourself over if you hire them, they are beyond terrible!!!!! Yes, this has been reported to the BBB (with documentation and pics that I will not add here). I have used Moore Construction for a past project on my home. They did a good job and was responsive when needed for an issue after completion. I contacted the project manager for additional work...already had a quote but upon further inspection there was more work to add. We met to review the additional work and I was totally blown away by his response to me and some of my questions/concerns on the additional work. He insisted that he could not remain in my backyard....no explanation. He felt he could not work with me yet all I was trying to do was assist in showing him details of my property he would have no knowledge of and would impact the job. He walked to the front and said he needed to get water from his truck. At this point I only said thank you and indicated he should go since he mentioned twice that he would be "late" for his next appointment. My appointment was scheduled by him at a certain time yet he was not there at the appointed time. I felt I needed to advise the office and explained in detail with the person who picked up the call. I am quite surprised that I have not had any follow up/explanation as to what occurred from management. I am a Realtor and have passed on their contact info but going forward I would not feel that I can do so again since my clients depend on me to provide reliable sources for their home projects. This company installed a retaining wall for my neighbor and I in October 2018. The entire process was torture. They would say one thing then do another. We were treated like we were dumb when we questioned their practices. We were just happy to be done with them. Their project manager is incompetent and has no idea how to construct a retaining wall. They failed to put gravel along the wall for drainage. Because of this my concrete porch is sinking and pulling away from the house due to the improper back filling of soil after installation. They were supposed to build a 18 inch wall but The wall does not even penetrate the ground. Water run right out of the bottom along with the soil holding up my house! Now we have found out they did not even use pressure treated wood and 7 months later the wall is starting to fail. They broke my neighbors sprinkler system when they were digging holes for the posts. When they were called out to look at it we were told there is no proof they were the ones that broke the sprinkler and nowhere in the contract does it say they would use pressure treated wood. Beware- this company will take your money and never look back!! read more

I had an excellent experience with Moore Construction! I hired them primarily to replace old and damaged siding on a couple sides of my house, as well as repair a water-damaged interior wall. I ended up also having them replace the gutters and downspouts on those same sides, as well as do some additional repairs inside that I had been putting off. All the workers were great; they did an excellent job and were both fast and courteous. But my positive experience was mostly due to my sales rep/general contractor, Miguel Herrera, who made the whole process easy and unintimidating. I had a tight budget and was nervous about what it would end up costing, but Miguel eased my concerns by making cost-saving recommendations. He broke it all down for me super clearly and his advice on everything from materials (such as high-quality James Hardy siding) to color choices was really helpful. I really appreciated that he didn't push for anything more that what was truly needed. I'm very happy with the choices I made and everything looks amazing! He was on site the majority of the time and was always available to patiently answer any of my questions throughout the whole process. He worked really hard to ensure my satisfaction by double-checking all the work personally and keeping me updated throughout. Miguel seems to genuinely care about providing excellent service and earning customers' trust by delivering it. I would never use Moore again. Didn't make any of their deadlines. Tried to squeeze more money out of us because they claimed that they didn't properly measure our roof. Replaced a skylight in our bathroom and did not flash properly so leaked. Not only did their Project Manager never physically show up on property but kept making excuses that he was just too busy! Their various teams would just show up at various hours/days without informing us. My husband And I actually had to conduct the punch list and no one showed up for s final walk through. We had Moore Construction Co. come out an do a new roof bid on our home in North Dallas last year after a hail storm passed through. After reviewing their website, not only did we have our insurance company move forward with a new roof for our home, but decided to pay out of pocked to have Moore Construction build us a new privacy fence as well. They completed the work in the time frame promised at our first discussion, with no surprises, and kept myself (and more importantly my husband) very happy with the level of service they provided. We had our sunroom converted into a patio, a new cedar fence installed, new gutters, French drains installed, painting of all siding/trim and front door, and other smaller jobs like installing new lighting and house numbers. They managed to get all this done in 3 1/2 days and it looks wonderful! It was great that Moore Construction was a "one-stop shop"--it kept us from having to deal with multiple crews, vendors, bids, and made scheduling a breeze (which was very important to us, as my husband and I work full time). He's got a great eye for paint color and made suggestions that we ended up using--it looks great! I found Moore Construction through Miguel Herrera when I needed a new roof. I received multiple quotes but was attracted to Miguel and his knowledge and willing to work with me and my insurance company. Miguel monitored all the work completed and saved me thousands on my home along with upgrading my roof to a class 4 to protect from future hail damage. The upgrade offered by Miguel was thousands under other contractors. Miguel offered advice on roof colors and even helped with the color of my trim after the roof was replaced. I loved his work so much that I replaced my parents house with Moore using Miguel again and my brother in law replaced his roof with Miguel. This was 3 years ago and I now consider Miguel not only my contractor but a life long friend. No one else will ever do my roof as long as Miguel and Moore Construction are a team. Very pleased with their honesty and thorough work. I asked for their opinion whether I had hail damage on my roof. Miguel said I had very little damage but enough to be considered by my insurance company. They looked at it and also thought my damage was very minor and below my deductible. They confirmed the same spots he saw that needed to be fixed. Miguel did the work for much less than the insurance company had estimated (but all still way below my deductible). These guys were great. I needed my front balcony repaired. The wood had started to rot and I was afraid it would fall off the house. I sent requests for estimates to five different companies. Moore was the ONLY one that responded. There representative arrived at my home the next day and surveyed the work. We had a nice conversation and he presented several options. I received the estimate the next day. Once I agreed the work started about a week later and was done in two days. The person who did the estimate was on site frequently to check on the work and make sure I was satisfied with the wok so far. Any questions and clarifications were handled quickly and professionally. Cleanup was also very good. The net result was a balcony that not only will out live me (the main goal) but looked better than the original. All in all an excellent experience. read more

It turned out there was a scheduling snafu - that stuff happens, no big deal. We were able to reschedule; however, the person who came out did not seem very knowledgable. He wanted to know what we wanted (which is good) but could give no suggestions as to what he'd recommend. Therefore, we didn't get the feeling he had much experience or expertise. I found Moore Construction thru BBB and Yelp. Moore Construction was very professional and honest. Our sales rep was Josh, Josh was very responsive and professional from start to finish. This was my first experience replacing a roof and I have to say I had know idea what I was doing. Josh walked us thru the process from step 1 to step 10. The most impressive thing that he told me was after the insurance gave us a cost for replacement and Josh had his quote. He told me that some companies will require a payment before they even start. Moore Construction doesn't require payment until after the job is done.. Not even a down payment is required. That told me that I made the right decision picking Moore Construction. Josh scheduled an install date and before I knew it, our roof was replaced in one day.. The roof looks great and no mess left behind. Josh was monitoring the process the whole time to make sure everything went as planned. I highly recommend Moore Construction. They have a high BBB rating and it shows. Don't get ripped off by door knockers or flyer hangers. Do your research like I did and you'll find that these guys rank very high on the list. read more

In May I contacted a few roofing companies. I couldn't even get anyone to get on the roof to give me a proposal because they knew my insurance company was going to pay for a new roof so they would just do it for whatever the insurance check was written for. Miguel Herrera with Moore Construction came over and did an impressive job with his proposal. I agreed and was told they'd start at the beginning of June. June 8 I texted since I had not heard from them. I was told they would start the following week. The next text was mid July. This time they were trying to coordinate with the duplex attached to mine. They finally started on my neighbors August 1, even though they knew mine needed to be completed ASAP since my mom would be coming home from the hospital and didn't need the noise. When I called I was told my roof was too steep and the roofers didn't want to get on it, (it's the same steepness as my neighbors) I asked him to communicate with me and I was assured he'd be there after lunch. It's now 5:45 and I have not seen him or heard from him. I cannot say whether or not the work will be up to par but I can say the lack of communication has been frustrating. A phone call with updates goes a long way. More to come after they finish the job. I would appreciate a call back from management. Well, I'm happy to say that Moore Construction has really turned the corner in my opinion. I called about a leak and Steve came out to see the cause. He said it was actually the mortar in the brick causing the leak. He actually got a mason to come out and do a quick repair. So far so good. I appreciate him going the extra mile. read more

I called in a panic when I discovered my chimney was leaking half way through the wettest May on record. Miguel came out and bid the job. Right away, I noticed he showed up to the bid on time, took pictures of the area that needed repaired and gave me a bid. I didn't have to pay until the work was done, and the bid was exactly as promised. These guys were great! Miguel actually texted me a couple of pictures of the work being done while they were working! I can't tell you how comforting it was to be at work, knowing that the work was being done properly.
