I went on a Saturday morning looking for pluberries (plum+cherry), my newest obsession. A few chats with Chad and the result was this place.
Drove in, called the number for someone to get me at the parking area. Dave, the owner came out and we walked to the orchard where he showed me the areas where the pluberries were.
We walked and talked about the old and new engineering of Silicon Valley. He offered to get out of my way to pick (and eat) but I was enjoying our conversation. I must have been guided to a dozen different trees, and sampled and picked a bit of each one with him.
After ~45 minutes I had enough in my belly and my bucket to run up a good tab. There were various kinds of fruits including varietals of plums, pluots, all of them listed with great detail and even when they'll be ready to harvest on their website (which dave built himself) https://gilroyupick.com/
If you want the big farm with rows and rows of upick, this isn't the place. If you want to have a little picking time in a nice environment, appreciate unsprayed and naturally sweet plum, pluot, pluberries and apples then this is a great recommendation. read more
