The staff here are warm and friendly. I had questions about transporting a domestic animal overseas and they were right on the information and directing what to do. They have made the process easy so far, which is helpful. This can be a complicated process. I see them to be more affordable and available than other clinics in the area. This is not a diss toward any other clinic. Financially, good veterinary care at an affordable price is always welcomed! My needs are specific does this visit and these guys are there! I have posted some of the awards I saw on their walls in the feline area and am impressed with how clean and comforting it is to come in. This was my first visit here with one of my fur babies and I'm happy! Thank you so much for a stellar visit! The veterinarian and assistant are very knowledgeable of this process. Thankfully. It's very important when you are sending a pet overseas to any country to get educated on that countries protocol and what and who you need to partner with (at least a year before) so you can set up a timeline for your pet to be ready to go. So far so good. This is a partnership with the providers that is important to follow clearly and directl read more

Have been using them for close to 10 yrs. Wonderful Dr owned business. They truly care about your pet. Unfortunately this visit for a euthanasia. After a long battle and back and forth to high priced no answers corporate run vets: it was a blessing to be able to send her over the rainbow bridge at Gilroy Vet. Not the out come any of us wanted, but a peaceful passing. read more

The doctors and staff are great. Super knowledgeable! They've been taking care of our dogs here for over 30 years.

They did an awesome job with my dog Baxter. He is feeling like a puppy again. Thank you Thank you.

This was the worst veterinary experience I have ever had. My husband and I were forced to put our sweet kitten down because Dr. Harrigan couldn't be bothered to take our concerns seriously. He acted like he had more important things to do, and as a result, our kitten never received the care he urgently needed. We went to another veterinary office for a second opinion, and they immediately diagnosed what was wrong -- but by then it was too late, all because of the negligence at Gilroy. Please, do yourself a favor and take your fur babies somewhere else. Find a vet who genuinely cares about their patients and isn't just going through the motions for money. Our family paid the price for their lack of attention, and no one else should have to. read more

We've been clients for decades. All of our dogs have been treated here and in years past they were treated exceptionally! We recently had to have surgery on our 15 year old dog. It took over a week from the exam to the surgery date. We dropped her off and surgery did go well The follow up was non-existent. No call from the clinic or vet asking how she was! No follow up to tell us what the results were. Nothing! My husband messaged them and got no response If a clinic is so busy they cannot follow up then they won't be seeing my dogs in the future and I would advise anyone seeking a new clinic to avoid them based on this experience. read more

Took my big ~120lbs Doberman to get neutered. They were very accommodating! Especially since he's been labeled as an aggressive dog, towards other animals and humans by previous Vet. When it was time for his appointment, staff was very friendly and super with him and were left in shock because he didn't display aggression or leave a bad impression, if anything it was the opposite of what he was labeled as. However the crew/staff played a major part in this because they were so kind and welcoming and made everyone super comfortable and feel loved especially with SNACKS! On top of that, for our big guy, we got the estimate of over $1,500, for this procedure AT OTHER PLACES! HOWEVER THIS PLACE! Was way! under that, and you can tell they aren't "money hungry" like many other places. Same day after surgery this big guy of ours came out of there happy and ready to play! Other than that, He's recovered nicely and honestly this place has been Great over all, 11/10 ! Do recommend this place! Great Doctors! Amazing Staff, And Receptionists! This place you can feel the love and kindness and true passion from everyone there! read more

Excellent!! Would go back again great Dr. Our little tuxedo was given great care. Clean office. Nice receptionist.

Dr. Hoyt and staff are amazing! We have been going to them for 4 1/2 years now. My pup is a rescue with severe abuse and stroke in the past and Dr. Hoyt has been so kind, soft and calm with him since our first visit. Tanya was our tech today and she was incredible with my boy, he is very timid of new people and she was wonderful. We loved her! I highly recommend this veterinary clinic to all my friends and family. read more

Never take your dog here, my dog was brought here twice in one week due to dental issues and bleeding, she was not treated like a serious issue. Establishment does not take immediate issues serious. All of the staff and the doctors here are amazing. Been taking my baby girl here for about 3 years and it's always a positive experience. They tried to reassure my pup and handled her very well considering how scared and nervous she was. They let me reassure her constantly and had no qualms with me being right front and center. They were very respectful of my budget and were very transparent. Love it here!!! read more

Doctors, nurses, and all other staffs are always extremely polite and nice. They are also extremely affordable while still provide outstanding care. You might not be aware of how good these people are if you have been a Gilroy resident for long time. However, for us who just moved to Gilroy since Jan 2021 and spent newly 30 years in San Jose, these folks are like 9 out of 10 vs all the other places in San Jose are like 2/3 out of 10 at best. read more

Gilroy Veterinary Hospital - I'm feeling 100% now. The doc had to remove one of my ear due to cancer, but I'm still a very pretty girl. - Veterinarians Near Me - Gilroy, California

We have gone to Morgan Hill animal hospital for 15+ years. However, we had a bad experience there and happened upon Gilroy veterinary hospital. They have always been wonderful to my animals, prices are fairly reasonable, and the care that they exhibit is amazing. Jamie is extremely patient and I love the doctors because they do not try to upsell you. I had a cat that I thought had his eye torn out and it turned out to be an embedded fox tail. The doctor took it out and prescribed some medicine and he was healed for under $100. I highly recommend taking your animals to this Veterinarian. Also if you bring in two animals, I think that you get a small discount on the second animals exam. Handy with multiple pets. read more

I'm so happy that we found this place after moving to MH. We used to live in Evergreen San Jose and take our four-legged furry family members to a vet clinic in Berryessa Rd where you will need to wait longer for your turn even if you had an appointment. The staffs at Gilroy Vet Clinic are very snappy and caring. They actually followed up to check on our dog after he had a surgery. Price is reasonable as compared to where we came from. I'm a happy dog/cat momma! read more

After moving to Morgan Hill earlier this year, I was looking for a new vet for my dogs. I decided to try Morgan Hill Animal Hospital based on Yelp reviews and was greatly disappointed with the attention and care my babies received. Someone recommended Gilroy Veterinary Hospital so we gave it a shot. The receptionist was very sweet at check-in. I filled out the new patient paperwork while chatting with a couple of people in the waiting room. We were taken back to the exam room by a lovely vet tech named Brian. He was patient, friendly and gentle with all 3 of my dogs. When Dr. Harrigan came in, he engaged with my pups straight away which put them at ease. He was gentle, warm, and FULLY present during each of their exams. I am confident that my babes will be safe during their upcoming dental cleaning procedures. The young lady who handled payment and scheduling at check out was lovely. As far as pricing goes, this establishment is extremely reasonable. I was paying twice as much for veterinary services in Palo Alto. read more

We took our dog Lexus in to put her down on October 30th due to her old age.and received her ashes back yesterday November 13th. This review is for the experiences that i went through with Gilroy Vet from the doctor to the whole entire staff for a wonderful experiences that they gave me and my wife. The staff was compassionate. They let me take my time without ever make me feel rushed doing this difficult time. We received a card in the mail with the staff at gilroy Vet signed with everyone messages of condolences. It was very touching for us and greatly appreciated. We have had many dogs and had gone through a few of this experiences but Gilroy Vet have for ever earned our business from here on out and i fully recommend them. And when i received the Ashes back it was well packaged with the box inside a nice bag and a card from the cremation place. Everything was handled compassionately with the upmost professionalism which are rare now a day. Job well done Gilroy Vet. read more

The team is very friendly with a comfortable environment that exudes an at-home feel. I waited no more than a couple minutes to be seen. The Vet and Vet tech explained my dogs procedure and medication options in plain english and also offered me financial options to choose from, without immediate pressure to decided what option I wanted to make for my pup. I appreciated their willingness to assist me and the time that it takes to do so. I wasn't rushed and their sincere explanations were wonderful. I was a brand new patient and because of my happy experience, I have already made a follow-up appointment. I do recommend this facility for their no-fuss, and rapid results. read more

So i just got home from coming here to have my Senegal Parrot's nails trimmed and I'm so pissed off that I had to Yelp about it immediately. Normally I take Mango to Princevalle Pet Hospital but they only have one bird vet and as a normal person that works 8-5 Monday through Friday the only time I can bring her is on a Saturday. Well if you're lucky enough to fine a Saturday that the vet is working they are booked for months in advance! Any of you that has a bird know that their nails can go from comfortable to hypodermic needles in about a week. So often I am stuck having to deal with her sharp claws for a couple of weeks before I can get an appointment. Well with the holidays going on again I was faced with having to endure my Senegal poking holes in my fingers for about a month before I could get an appointment for a nail trim. So I called around and was told that Gilroy Vet Hospital would do the nail trim. Yippee. When I booked the appointment the scheduler suggested 8am. Huh? No way am I getting up that early on my day off. So I asked for something later and she said okay 9. That was still a bit early for me but oh well. Now I don't know if it's a thing with vet's but I don't think I've ever been seen on time for an appointment. Princevalle ALWAYS makes me wait about 15 mintues before being seen. Gilroy Vet Hospital was the same. In fact a guy with a dog that came in about 10 minutes after me got seen before me. What the hell is the point of making an appointment if you don't see me until 20 minutes later? If you're going to see me at 9:15 then just tell me my appointment is for 9:15. I could have slept for another 15 minutes. But let's get to the real reason why I am so upset. After only having my bird for about 5 miniutes, (the fastest nail trim she's ever had), I get Mango back and the charge is................. $75!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did a double take and said, "What?" Apparently this place charges $58 just for you to walk in the door! Princevalle charges about $20 for a nail trim. I guess it's shame on me for not asking what they charged but I just assumed it would be similar to Princevalle. Not only that but I checked Mango's nails and a couple of them were still kinda sharp. I know that vet's don't like to trim bird nails too much because their quicks are inside the nail and the bird will bleed if you trim too aggressively. But I had just paid $75 and by God I was going to get my money's worth so I sent Mango back to get them done a little more. The girls that work at the office are friendly enough and I assume they do a good job but I won't be coming back here ever again because of their predatory pricing. $75?!?!? Geez. That's robbery. Next time use a gun when you're going to rob me. read more

I've been bring my dogs here since 2005! Staff and doctors have been great until a recent emergency we had. Their systems were down for 1-2 days so they could not take us and referred us to MedVet off Bernal Road. Note: we find out after the fact they are not affiliated and only referred us because that was the closest emergency facility to them. We took our dog to MedVet and they prescribed our dog meds. Everything seemed okay at first but after a day our dog's cut opened more and continued to bleed more. MedVet told us to let it heal on its own. (If I had a cut and after seeing the doctor it opened up and bled more I would be concerned). So I called Gilroy Vet again and asked for them to help. All they said was to go back to MedVet or they will see our dog sometime week where will be charged for the visit and incur more fees for needed procedures and meds. This teally upset because we originally called them and they referred us elsewhere and are now seem unwilling to help. Seems like Gilroy Vet has new front desk staff and they are unwilling to help! read more

I had use this business for 5 years the last 2 times we went there were no the worst the staff was rude and unfriendly . One of the times they saw some sort struggling handling my tow large dogs and despite them seeing me trying g to manage them not once did any of the lazy people that work there ever offered to help. In fact their recommendations was for me to never show up again with two dogs at he same time ! Wow I thought what customer service-- the worse worse inícieme give negative stars I would give minus 10+ I am not sure if the doctors are even aware or f the bad personnel they have hired ??? I called in asking if my puppy's symptoms were considered an emergency as I am a new dog owner. Got transferred to the vet, told her what was going on, all she had to say was "are you a client with us?" i said "no, i have an appointment with someone else next week" i was thinking if i DID have to come in, they would help me and i would just switch over to them for the rest of my care... what did the vet say? they weren't taking any new clients. she was ready to hang up without even giving me any reassurance or an ounce of information. i understand if they can't take in new people because of COVID but i would THINK they would care enough about animals to give us at least a tiny bit of guidance. i ended up asking her if it was an emergency or not and all she said was "i can't tell you that." okay thanks a lot. they don't care about animals unless money is involved. read more

My husband and I had to make the difficult decision of putting our dog down and we were so concerned she would have to be alone for the process because of the COVID restrictions. The whole staff was compassionate after everything was done and we knew we had made the right decision by taking her there. We've been taking our dogs to this vet since we moved here 6 years ago. Luckily up til this point our dogs are pretty healthy and didn't need much. Unfortunately due to my last experience we will no longer be trusting our dogs care here. We started taking our boxer in over two months ago because she was lethargic, not eating, loosing weight, and overall just not herself. The first time we went we waited for over an hour for them to pick her up from the car. I told the vet tech what the problem was and then I had to wait in the car. I get it because of all the COVID stuff but really it's like you're playing a game of telephone. I wait for over an hour for the doctor to just call me - they said she had multiple things wrong with her - including a heart murmur that we could have an ultrasound done on to make sure she doesn't have a heart issue going on if the medication prescribed doesn't help. In two weeks she wasn't better so I called to make an appointment for the ultrasound. The receptionist was rude and short and said they only do them in the morning at specific times. Fast forward to my husband going to the appointment: the vet tech tells him they don't do that at the facility - um ok? Your rude receptionist seemed to think so. They ended up just doing the same tests and it was same as two weeks prior. The vet gave her more of the same crap medication and b12 - she seemed better for the most part but not 100%. Our precious baby girl died two weeks later. She was turning 6 in two days. We believe it was indeed a heart issue but we'll never know as they wouldn't give us an ultrasound. I don't think that there was anything they could have done but they could have prepared us for what was to happen. ****on another note: as I was there waiting in the car for an hour with my girl, I see them opening the blinds to a room RIGHT IN FRONT of all the people waiting in their vehicles outside. Then a woman walks up crying and obviously upset carrying her dog in. The vet tech then takes the dog and brings her into the room with the blinds open. The woman is standing outside watching. Are you seriously telling me that you are putting this woman's dog down with an entire audience behind her??? It's tragic enough for the poor woman and her family to have to put her dog down but to do it like that is unfathomable. I find it hard to believe that they couldn't find a different room or figure out a way for this lady to be with her dog in their final moments. Absolutely horrible. read more

I went to this vet one time when I was searching for a vet in the area. This place is a bit too holistic for me. They suggested not giving my dog heartworm meds and other vaccines. I used to come here all the time when I was younger. Recently the trip I made, made me dislike this place even more. They are money hungry; don't care about the customer or the animal. A few years back, I had a tooth from my dog removed, and they had given me a estimate when I dropped by dog off. When something needs to be done, they are supposed to call the owner for approval first. They had polished my dogs teeth, before pulling them along with tried charging me for fluoride among other things. I told them I was not called and didn't approve of any of the things they tried charging me $240 extra. Also that it's ridiculous to polish and clean a tooth, just to pull it out. A legal friend of mine confronted them about rules/laws. So they refunded that part. My dad had brought his dog here numerous times because she had issues with her butt. They said they couldn't do anything about it, they didn't know what the issue was and that it would go away. I was referred by a friend to South County Animal Hospital in Morgan Hill. That place is 100% better. I took my dad's dog there and they did a blood test along with a couple others and found out that the dog has an autoimmune disorder and had to be on meds. But they knew right away what the problem was and didn't push us aside like Gilroy Vet did. They treat us like a valued customer and better pricing. The most recent was, I had picked up a dog that someone hit and left her for dead. I thought, well maybe, just maybe Gilroy Vet would help......Nope. Since she didn't have a chip they didn't want anything to do with her. I called animal control and the asked Gilroy Vet to hold her for 10 minutes for the animal control officer to come get her. Nope, they wouldn't hold her... for 10 minutes....... So I took her to animal control, they too her to the San Martin Shelter and she is doing much better now. Her feet were all bloody and it looked as if her legs were broken. She was posted on San Martin's website and already 20 people say they will take her if her owner doesn't come forward. read more
