They were very honest and up front as to what to expect when what my damaged HD would require and what you might expect if you took it to one of the competitors who might be offering a "cowboy" job. If your data is precious and your backup strategy inadequate, these are the guys to take your non-responsive hard drive to when you have to re-claim your data. The clean-room is a bit sketchy (no double door, no gasket around the door, etc.) but they have the tools to diagnose your problem and determine the best course of action and they know their limits when they have to broker the job to a uber-high-end facility. Sadly, since my backup strategy now includes mirrored RAIDs and offsite backups, I'll no longer need a place like this, unless my computer dies AND my RAID dies AND my offsite backup gets eaten, or stolen or abducted by aliens. ****** Edit 2010-11-25 I decided to bite the bullet and give them my drive to send to the uber facility for recovery.
