However, what he failed to disclose--which I found to be very deceitful--was that his services do not include recovering those lost payments which to me defeats the purpose if you don't know where the tenant resides. I even asked him if he could mediate the situation of get the tenant to the table and he strongly advise i pursue a judgement... because that's how he gets paid. I would have paid to mediate... I just wanted representation. To be clear, tenant was communicative by email but we had no address of the tenant. I not once did the lawyer serve any of the paperwork via email. Although I'm not entirely comfortable discussing my eviction experience, I remain unconvinced that I even needed to go through the process. My tenant had already abandoned the unit without surrendering the keys, making the situation unclear. knowing what i know how now, I am legally obligated to still communicate how i am going to handle the security deposit.
