I wish they had more Doc Popcorn's around the country they're hard to find but worth getting a bucket or a big bag if you want more bang for your buck.

The brand has a really distinctive local identity and if you're looking for an edible souvenir, this is a great option since their products are allergen-friendly. They're gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free, and they're also Kosher dairy-certified. I also loved that they have some Southwestern inspired flavors, which makes them feel a little more unique than your average popcorn shop. This is a standalone store, but they also sell online and at select grocery stores like AJ's Fine Foods and Fry's Foods. What I loved about visiting the shop itself is that you can sample all the different varieties, and it's nice to be able to get fresher batches and different sizes straight from the source. I ended up taking home a big bag of their prickly pear popcorn and a normal size bag of the Porcini Truffle Cheddar, which had a really nice savory flavor with real porcini mushrooms, black truffle sea salt, and organic cheddar cheese. When I got home we broke open the cheesy popcorn bag. The flavor was really good! It just the right amount of seasoning. All the kernels were full, round, and fluffy looking. None of that hard kernel ish that breaks your teeth. Unfortunately, even though the bag had a desiccant packed inside to minimize moisture, the popcorn did taste a little stale/not very crisp. That didn't stop the toddler from devouring it all in one day (And sneaking a few bits to the dogs as well). The tomato basil unfortunately was even more stale tasting which was a bummer considering the price I paid for the bag. I did like the tomato basil flavor though. Maybe if the creator put some "sell by," "best by," or "made on" dates that would help, so people know how fresh their bag is. Maybe some different packaging would help too? Either way, I'd go back to get more popcorn from Poppa Maize if it was sold fresh from the kernel. Currently they seem to sell the popcorn at various small businesses such as Pour Jo Coffee and at local farmer's markets.

Based on my doorbell camera recording, it had been 90 minutes since the delivery. I unfortunately had to call the gifter who wanted this to be a surprise and tell her that the chocolate had all melted and the fruit were hot. She told me that edible arrangements were supposed to place it on ice. So I tried to call this store that made the delivery and no one would pick up. I left a message and have not heard back and it's been over a week. We liked the balloons and those were the only ones that didn't spoil. Unfortunately, we had to throw away the melted box of chocolate fruit because the fruit was also hot and mushy. I felt really bad because I know a box of this fruit is pretty pricey, but it's absolutely ridiculous that I can't even get in contact with anyone at this location. I still haven't heard back. And we do love chocolate fruit, especially the strawberries. It's one of our favorite things. It's disappointing because we've received something like this from the same location and it had been properly delivered on ice, but that was a few years ago. I looked at the last six reviews for this location and shocked that everyone gave it one star. I'm not sure what is going on with their customer service or if something is happening with this location. So don't bother sending anyone a delivery bc it'll probably get spoiled especially in the summer. I hate to say it, but it really was an Inedible Arrangement.
