Nostalgic and themed candies. So much stuff I hadn't seen before! We got some various bulk chocolate and gummies. The bulk malt balls (aka whoppers) are soo good! I will come back just for those! Everyone loves an old school candy shop, and this one did not disappoint. Lots of sours candy, chocolate, ice cream, soda pops...everything a girl can dream of. It was an amazing place to celebrate my birthday after hours. Everyone 8-81 really had a great time with fun drinks and fill your own goody box and above and beyond scavenger hunt. "Come with me...and you'll be...in a world of pure imagination!" That was the song that was playing when I walked into this candy store. It was truly an experience for all senses. The smell of sweet candy hit me before I closed the door behind me. Then the sound of the Willy Wonka song played as my eyes gazed upon several displays of treats and adorable art installations. There are neat textures including some cute backdrops that are so Insta-worthy. And, of course, the sweet taste of all the candy (after you pay for it, of course.) This place is rad. My inner kid came out upon entering the candy shop. It's so magical and whimsical with lots of space just to explore. The cutest candy shop I've seen. Alice in Wonderland theme. There's tons of choices of bulk candy and individually wrapped candy. You can also get matcha Kit Kats that are imported from Japan and cannot find almost anywhere else- my husband used to live in Japan and was very excited about this. I found the name of this place when I was helping my son plan his daughter's sweet 16 in March of 2025. We didn't end up going here at that time but I did put it on my "list of places to go" and today was the day! When I located it off Main Street in downtown Mesa I got excited. But the quickly realized, oh man I have to parallel park? ... took me back to my driving test at 16 years of age for sure! But I did it! Right in front of the store! Happy girl here! When you walk in the ambiance of this place is sooo awesome! Everything catches your eye. From the Mad Candy selfie chair to your right and the another to your left! It was awesome. The staff greeted me with a kind hello and beautiful smile. I'm loving it so far. As I walked through the store I catch myself saying "no way, they have these candies?" and just in awe of the goodness available. I seen the rubix cube candy tin and immediately said, yep I need one. As I browsed around I just kept smiling because they have candy that took me back to my childhood. Like the candy sticks!! My dad would take us kids out for ride and we always got some candy sticks and those never ending jaw breakers. I highly recommend Mad Candy! You will NOT be disappointed. read more

There are two entrances for MadCandy. One entrance is located along Main and the other is in the back facing a parking lot. I was attracted to the graffiti walls featuring Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter. You feel as if you're entering a fantasyland as you go into the back door. What a fun spot! If you park in the lot behind the building you get such a fun experience while checking out an awesome mural. Once through the pink door you'll enjoy a few more quirky things on the walls and start your candy journey. While some of the candy items are pretty basic; there are some old school items from abba zabbas as well as specialty sodas. I love the many instagram worthy photo spots. This is the coolest little candy shop in downtown Mesa. When you go through the bright pink door, it is like a colorful candy land. There is even a corner dedicated to Willy Wonka. Make sure you go to the back hallway to see the awesome art. There are all kinds of candy, both commercially packages and bulk. We got some bulk peach rings and malted milk balls. But they were not your average malted milk balls--these were covered with a cherry chocolate and SOOOO much better than the boxed kind. Like little balls of heaven. read more

I saw some ads for Mad Candy and decided to check it out. It was early in a Friday and the place was deserted sans a parent and child and myself. Cool looking murals, but beyond that it was just a candy store. I guess I was expecting more cool, moving parts in an Alice in Wonderland themed store (i.e. twirling teapots or a smoking caterpillar...) but alas nothing moving other than the other patrons. Per the owners request I'm updating my review to how I really feel. The store is more dimly lit then a Spencer's Gifts in the mall, what main portion of the store is big brown bins of I dunno what because there are no signs, absolutely no effort in trying to make this, the biggest area of the store special at all. The little areas on the sides do have some cute interest points but what does have signage are hundreds of percent over what you can buy at other retailers. I'm all for supporting local but not for being ripped off just because it's local owned. The store experience was very much like the Willy Wonka Experience in the UK even the employee was that enthused to be there. You would think a week after a highly advertised Grand Opening there would at least be signs and prices. I fail to see how knowing the price of something is an unrealistic expectation. read more

This is my families favorite candy shop! We cannot go to Mesa without stopping by. It is so creative and beautiful inside, there are always new details to look at! There's a beautiful mural outside as well and the back door is frequently open which is such a fun "secret" passageway. The restroom is one of my favorites as well. They have a ton of candy options and it is well lit, it makes me so sad to read some of these reviews! The owners clearly have put their hearts into this shop. We stumbled upon MadCandy while wandering down Main Street, and boy was it a treat! loved the whimsical decor, all the Alice in Wonderland theme (my favorite too!) and the variety of bulk candy being offered here. Staff were very polite, and also gave us the right amount of distance so that we can explore before making our selections. There are drinks in the back, and a small sitting area to enjoy your sweets. A new candy shop opened up on Main St. here in downtown Mesa and I have to say its pretty sweet! The inside of the store is super cute, has a lot of displays, pops of color and decorations all around. One thing I love about this place is the large variety of saltwater taffy they have, I love that stuff and don't always want the same boring flavors you find in pre mixed bags at the store. The cinnamon one is my favorite though. Glad to see a fun new shop down on Main Street and I know I will be back to get more saltwater taffy soon! read more
