Even the river bank has a lot of leftover fishing lines and hooks. If you come here to fish, better show up at 7am otherwise area fill up pretty fast. There are even more people at night time too. Everybody does jigging here, especially walleye season. Clean up after yourself.

This is my first time at this park and I'm pleasantly surprised hope nice it is. I seen two other…read morereviews for this place, but they were both over 12 years ago. I didn't know what to expect, but it looks like the city have done a great job of fixing this park up. There is a few fitness zone with about 10 different workout machines for anyone that wants to use them. They is also two weight benches here as well. There are swings for the kids and a hammock also. There's a nice see-saw, and the jungle gym is very modernistic and upgraded. There are a couple hills the kids can play on with a little slide on one of them. There are a couple gazebos if you are looking to sit in the shade... and also benches posted around the park. The best part of the park is the view of the Detroit River and the Ambassador Bridge. Across the river, you can see Canada very clearly. There are good spots to fish here if you are into that, and if not you can just relax by the water and just catch a nice vibe. There's no trash on the ground and the park is really clean. This is definitely one of the hidden gems in the area.

They took a bad park and made it horrible. The park used to: Flood Have bad mosquitos 2 playgrounds Lots of run down equipment A walking path. They removed the playgrounds and replaced it with half of a new one that I could have built with 4 2x8s and some PVC pipe and plastic. They added a bathroom/dog wash that's been closed every time I've been there. A fence that splits the park in half and destroys the walking path. So now you have HALF a park that: Floods Has bad mosquitos Lost the walking path Lost the playgrounds Still has run down equipment. This city is horrible. This park is horrible. They should be ashamed.

It has a paved walking path around the perimeter and some playground equipment that is in dire need of TLC. They had an accessible friendly playscape but removed it at the end of last summer and are building a restroom pavilion. Avoid the park at all costs after a rainstorm during the spring / summer due to the mosquitos because they will literally carry you out of their park. We've also had a few run ins with dogs off leash which is frustrating. This park is slated for upgrades in the coming years.

They even have a library right next to it in the same parking lot and small park. I have visited this place many times including the library with my son but only in the day time. It has two large playgrounds, one on each end. a lot of green area, some soccer fields, a splash pad and some baseball/softball fields. The side of the park off of Conant Street seems pretty new. They have a new covered pavilion, nice new playground equipment and still working on the the lighting and grass. There is also a lot of green space over on that side as well. The pavilion is nice and has picnic tables under there. The playground has wood chips on the floor and has a nice see-saw, a small jungle gym, a saucer swing and some regular swings. The Charles Street side is where the softball/baseball fields are located and the splash pad. There is also a couple of pavilions over there with picnic tables under them, a restroom facility and the soccer field. That side also has a playground. It has decent equipment. The splash pad is very nice and has a bench you can sit and watch the kiddos frolic. It operates from 11AM to 7PM, in season. The playground is lined with wood chips and has a swing set and a nice jungle gym with slides. There are benches there too. There is an area with picnic tables that are covered by a neat canopy a little further out from the playground. It is very trendy and looks pretty new and neat. You cant miss the bathroom over there it is very colorful. The fields seem well maintained and there are paved paths that make a decent walking/jogging trail. The park has benches and square picnic tables throughout. This is a pretty cool park. It is somewhat calm and peaceful and has a lot to offer. You can bring the kids to the playground, jog around, walk your dog, play in the fields, frolic in the splash pad or just kick back and relax.
