It could be the perfect sub if the bread was fresh. Also a toaster oven would be nice as well

I went with their classic prosciutto and ricotta sandwich which I must say was a bit strange but so delicious!

Came for brunch with my two girls. We enjoyed Birria tacos, Pozole and the asada tacos. A spicy salsa option would be nice for the asada tacos- but yum quality still and the nopales cooked perfectly! pozole could have used a little cilantro and raw diced onion garnish but we enjoyed it all and will come back for the dinner menu. The dressed tostadas for the pozole hit the spot! Cafe de olla was fragrant and boldly seasoned with cinnamon. Tasted decadent, almost sweet and earthy yummy.

A lot of places lose their mojo after the first year, food slips, menu goes stale. Not here. They keep adding new items and keeping the good ones around. This time I got the Mole Enchiladas and they were bombdotcom. Only thing is I wasn't paying attention and they're just cheese inside. I was expecting chicken. If they made chicken an option this would easily be a top 3 order for me. The unique take on traditional tacos is still one of the strongest things on the menu. The backyard asada and the Otro Nivel are still worth ordering a year later. And the specialty aguas frescas always hit the spot, there's a new concoction every time I show up. Service is attentive every time, even when they're slammed.

Overall, it was an excellent event and Douglas clearly knows what he is talking about from his 40+ years of experience! The inside of the building has items from various garden related vendors (except for one - I will get to that one in a minute): fairy garden items, bird houses, yard decorations, etc. They also have food items from several Amish bakeries and oh my, the hand pies are excellent! Thankfully for my waistline I only had a bite of my husband's apple hand pie after we left or I would have gone back in and one of every flavor. Where Salem Gardens stands out is their dedication to plants that are unique. Yes, you will find marigolds (standard for all gardens for pest control) but they have an amazing assortment of other plants that are truly different. Check out my pictures for the yellow green hostas! Wow!

They built it by hand, and crafted it to be an incredible community space. They host fun community events like glass cutting and fairy basket making classes. The prices are incredibly reasonable. This is about a 45 minute drive from me but I know I'll be back!!! A well worth visit
