I'm giving this place two stars instead of one because I do believe the audiologist staff is…read moreknowledgeable. However, there was a lack of sincerity and transparency with this vendor along with some sketchy sales tactics that I did not appreciate, which ultimately led me to buy elsewhere. If you want to know a couple of details, read on.... For starters, the audiologist would only give approximate costs even though I referenced an exact make and model. I asked about cash discount possibilities and was told there were no discounts and that the price was what it was (about 6K). But during my second visit (and third correspondence), I was offered a $1000 coupon discount because they were running a special during that month. That was puzzling to me, as it was the 21st of that month, and she could have easily informed me about the "special" during my first meeting over a week earlier; only after they determined I was not an easy-sell did they offer the coupon. But her insincerity was what really burned me. On her initiative, the audiologist offered to send me home with a trial for a "long weekend." She told me that if I did not like that make and model I could try a second. Up to that point she was VERY informative and helpful.... After attempting the second trial, I returned the next morning per my appointment and informed her the model would not connect with my iPhone as it was supposed to. I was ready to buy them if I could actually test them with my phone, as they worked well otherwise. However, she replied, "Sorry, I need these back now. Usually a patient knows if he is going to buy right away, but after ALL of your trials, it is clear that you are not really ready to buy." Even though I had repeatedly told her I was impressed with certain aspects of the products, she told me that she had been in audiology for over twenty years and could just tell I was "not ready to buy." That tactic is of course called reverse-selling, also known as the take away technique, which is a risky technique used to persuade clients when they are perceived to be non-committal. By "taking away" the possibility for a client to buy, you hopefully persuade him to ask you to please sell the product to him, which speeds him up into buying. She also had the audacity to tell me that my situation was unusual and that they didn't normally offer out-of-office trials! However, she OFFERED me those trials after I had told her it would be great to try the hearing aids out in real life. Up to that point I was ready to buy, but I recognized the sales tactic for the psychological manipulation that it was, and it burned me that a company that typically works with older patients who are often uninsured for hearing care would use such a tactic. The audiologist then backpedaled, offered an apology for possibly misreading me, and proceeded with the sale since I had told her that I did want to buy. She then "reminded" me that I could swap out a model for a different one after a purchase, a fact that she had NEVER told me previously. I rarely write bad reviews for vendors (I think two negatives my whole life). I have researched this industry, and it is apparent that the markups associated with hearing aids are huge and that sales are commission-driven with the hope of quick sales. Regardless, I later purchased elsewhere from somebody that offered the same products with ongoing support for less who also provided the transparency of the process that was sorely lacking from this vendor.

20 years later and I still haven't forgotten what an awful experience I had with this doctor and…read morehis staff. Never going back. Plenty of better ENT specialists in my region.

My 11 yr old daughter has been having horrible nosebleeds. I took her to our family doctor who…read morereferred us to Dr. Borovik. Do not go to this ENT! He gave us two options, which he did not explain in detail, 1. Come into the office for two separate visits to have each nostril cauterized. 2. Put her under and do both at once. Initially we chose option 2 thinking it would be easier & due to his lack of explanation I was thinking would be a little laughing gas and be quick. While checking out during our consultation I was told she would have to fast for 12 hours, check into Munson, have an iv and anesthesiologist put her out... then I was told I would need to pay upfront $500.00 and that didn't include my out patient surgery co pay and the anesthesiology bill. Seemed like over kill for putting silver nitrate on a Qtip and touching the inside of her nose! I called the office back and told the receptionist we wanted to go with option one. At that point the doctor took the phone and told me it was a horrible idea. Said my daughter would be in immense pain, she would start screaming and flailing and there would be profuse bleeding. When I asked if he used any type of numbing agent he flat out said "NO". I said "really? Not even a Novocain cream??" Then he replied "oh well yes we would use that" well, sir, that IS a numbing agent! He then told me in his 30yrs of practice this nightmare he described has been his experience with kids having this type of procedure. Perhaps it says more about him than the people he is treating? Bottom line I felt like he was trying to scare me into the more expensive procedure, his office was dirty and he was rude and I felt talked down to. I would have gone with the more pricy option had I felt it was better for my child but honestly anesthesia scares me and it's risks out weighed the procedure's risk. I told him to cancel everything. I will be seeking a second opinion. Then I googled him. Holy cow!! page after page of horrible reviews!! Literally go to any other ENT in town! (only gave one star cause no stars wasn't an option)
