( Adirondacks ) this past Feb/Mar to…read morevisit family and I Always make sure to get my car serviced before I leave because of the price gouging and dishonest repair suggestions that these dealerships in the area do to out of state and local elderly customers. Can't stand people or businesses that do this. Upon arriving from my 1,500 mile trip I noticed that I was having a lot of noise coming from the undercarriage of my vehicle. The kind of noise you can't ignore and need to get checked out. Reluctantly, I had to call the place I didn't want to call because of multiple past negative experiences. My vehicle is still somewhat under warranty ( that's the only reason I went back ) so I hoped that this time would be different and maybe there's a chance the problem might fall under warranty repair ( I rather focus on writing a well earned review for Curry Auto Repair than naming the place , I drive a Subaru ). Sure enough, $237.00 for silicone spray and a non answer to what the noise was. Still had my vehicle sounding like the undercarriage was gonna fall apart as I was driving away. Couple of weeks went by and the sound kept getting worse and now I was a week out from having to drive 1,500 back home to the Adirondacks ( still winter and snowing up here ). Started to scramble trying to find someone to take a look at my vehicle, not only to still try and diagnose the problem but also make sure that it's safe to drive. Enter Curry Auto Repair. Got referred to Curry from a neighbor of my Mom's through what they saw on Yelp reviews. Walked in at the end of the day and first met David and then Steve. I explained the situation I was in and they told me to come back in the morning and one of the technicians ( Mark ) would take a test drive with me and that after, they'd put it up on the lift and take a look. When I was waiting to take the test drive, I was able to witness David and Steve's interactions with customers who were picking up and dropping off their cars. Couldn't believe how involved David and Steve were in making sure that all their customers were taken care of while also handling the phones. They were reminding customers about coupons that they have to save a little on certain services as well as explaining in detail everything they had done while their car was in for service, great to see that. You can tell this place cares about reputation and its customers. Just so professional and kind. Went on the test drive and Mark was able to assess that the noise was a stabilizer link and that the rest of my vehicle was safe and would make it back. You know what Curry charged me ? Nothing. Couldn't believe it. It was only about a half hour of their time to help me diagnose the problem but still. I was a nobody walking into a place I've never been in and David, Steve and Mark treated me like a life long customer. I've since referred my Mom to this place and are also spreading the word to her neighbors. ( Thank you for helping her with the tires on her car ) Thank you so much for that. I made it back to the ADK's safe and sound. My car is currently at my dealership in Plattsburgh NY getting repaired. The problem is exactly what Mark said it was. * To anyone reading this. If you're looking to move on from Dealership dishonesty and price gouging, Please go checkout Curry Auto Repair. After doing my research, I decided to give Curry Auto a try, & I couldn't be happier. Steve, welcomed myself & every customer walking through their busy door. He explained in detail what my car needed, & what I can expect down the road. I'm an "old school lady" that used to work in the auto business, & I really appreciated NOT being fleeced by Big Corporate business!

    This was our first experience with Douglas Jeep. I had one last oil change on the Mopar contract…read moreso we made an appointment for 11am. Unfortunately, they never even pulled the Jeep in until close to 1pm. The Service Manager said they were short handed. We also had a slow leak in one of our tires. They found a finishing nail and patched it for us at no charge. We were there for 3 hours, but they made it right. We have a couple of free oil changes coming our way.

    Now, I am a happy owner of a Cadillac. I brought my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland ( which I…read moreloved ) to Douglas Jeep for a thermostat replacement. They kept my Jeep for 3 full days until I called them to ask if it was ready. They told me that they didn't have the thermostat in stock. . They said come back in a week or so. I did. And again, they have my Jeep for 3 full days until I called them to ask if it was ready. (Get this... ) they said they hadn't got to it yet. Unbelievable. I asked for my car back, and I drove across the street to the Cadillac dealer. Bought a Cadillac right there and then. I should add that CR (consumer reports) have just ranked Jeep as the worst car brand based on reliability and customer satisfaction) Comparing the service departments of Cadillac and Jeep is like comparing night and day. At Jeep, you're cramped in this narrow passage while the service tech's are scrambling answering phones and pushing paper, while you wait in a line with other customers. At Cadillac it's a first class experience with a calmness to the whole process and plenty of chairs and complimentary snacks. Do what you want, but you have been warned
