Very happy! I had some steel Pergola mounts flashed into my tile roof. Got the job done on time and on budget.

Thanks Volt! I highly recommend this roofing and solar company. Buck and his team are great: very…read moreknowledgable, hard-working, and have amazing attention to detail. On top of that, they're just good down-to-earth people. We hired them last spring to re-roof our home, replace some rotted eaves and fascia and replace our old solar system (it was inefficient and malfunctioned quite a bit). We are very happy with what we got for the price we paid, it was a good value. It looks so much better than it did before and is consistently producing more energy. I feel like they helped us make the right decisions through the whole process, especially for system size to be able to keep our NEM1 status. The new roof looks great and works really well. I waited almost a year to write this review to make sure there wasn't any water intrusion during the winter storms - not a drop anywhere. They were in the mid-high range in pricing on the bids we got, but I'm happy we spent a little more went with them. Can a roof be sexy? Ours sure is. All in all, if you need a new roof or solar system or home battery, or all of the above, call Volt. They are a competent and professional group of local people who are really f**king good at what they do.

After much research, we had the top six companies quote us estimates for solar on our Loomis house…read more I noticed that each company explained the process differently; some explanations were good, while others left me more confused. When Buck arrived, he stayed until we were satisfied with our understanding, and I learned so much more from his explanations than from all other companies. Considering they were also roofers and understood the difficulty with our high-pitched roof, we placed more confidence in them than the others. Hence, we chose them after a month of research and estimates. Kristen, their assistant manager, was very communicative throughout the entire project, keeping us informed about what was happening behind the scenes with permits, PG&E approvals, and the team's schedule. That helped us understand the project's time frames. Bucks crew -- Jared, Sean, and the others -- were friendly and professional. They worked quickly and efficiently to finish the job, paying close attention to detail. They went above and beyond, including sharing additional insights about our gutters and attic. I could tell they understood the bigger picture, and I am grateful for their effort. After researching many companies, we are happy we chose Volt Modern and will definitely recommend them to others looking for solar installation and roofing services.

Overall, American Eagle Roofing was pretty good for our project. There were a few things that added…read moreup that made our experience a little less than stellar. About a year ago, I reached out about a potential leak, and Chris came out to assess the roof. He was incredibly honest and mentioned that he couldn't see anything that would lead to a leak. Still, he provided estimates for a partial fix, partial roof repair, and full roof repair. We ended up not needing the service but appreciated the honesty. Fast forward to this year, I reached back out to Chris for another potential leak, and he came out and assessed the situation again. This time, there were noticeable signs of leaks but nothing that was too concerning. He provided quotes for various options, and we felt comfortable moving forward with one of them. After this is where things started to not go as well as we thought. Once we signed the contract, we were issued an invoice for the deposit. As soon as I received it, I paid it the same day (almost within minutes of receiving it). Several days go by, and I don't hear back from the company to schedule our repair. I call the office, and for some odd reason, they cannot find confirmation that I had paid the deposit. I reassured the office that I had, as it was debited from my account, and I offered to forward the receipt and to have my bank verify that it was debited in the amount and to the correct vendor. They issued another invoice for the deposit as I was on the phone trying to dispute this, which was eventually cancelled, but it was a little annoying. After I forwarded the receipt, they scheduled our repair, so I assume they found the paid invoice. As someone who uses Quickbooks for business purposes, this is not something that's hard to track or find. So, I'm very surprised to have run into this situation. The morning of the scheduled repair, we received an email that said the crew would not be showing up. We were surprised because we did not receive prior notification that this was going to happen. My husband had scheduled his work week around this, so that he could be available for any questions or concerns. When we called the office, they said that they had called and left a voicemail, which we confirmed that we did not receive. They did, however, look back at their records and said they had misdialed and apologized. Again, for something that was last minute, we were annoyed again. On the day of the repair, Chris texted us, notifying us that we may be charged an extra $500 because their truck couldn't fit in our driveway. This was incredibly frustrating because that was not something he or the company mentioned would be an issue. In fact, Brad came out prior to install to inspect the old roof, measured our driveway, and even left his tape measure in the driveway! We called Chris and expressed our frustration at this, and he apologized and said they wouldn't charge us for this. If there were structural issues outside of what they initially found, I would understand, but when they clearly measured our driveway and left evidence of that and failed to notify us of this, that's a different story. Per the multiple project emails sent to us, there was to be a walkthrough and inspection from the crew's manager the day after they finished the roof installation to ensure the work was to our satisfaction. This did not happen, nor did anyone reach out to us to schedule this. Instead, we were immediately issued an invoice for the remainder. We had noticed several areas that looked very sloppy (I assumed this would be the case given the crew seemed very rushed by the end of the day and diminishing sunlight), so we called the office to have someone come out to walk through and inspect the finished work before we were willing to make our final payment. Brad came out and noticed the same issues that we had, and he took his time to get those areas fixed, which we appreciated. Overall, we are happy with a new roof. However, all of these little things made our experience not as great as we would've expected for the amount of money we invested.

American Eagle Roofing & Gutters aka Roof Geeks, Mr. Roof and Solar (These names are just SHELL COMPANIES owned by the same parent entity/company with multiple owners). They installed a NEW roofing system on our property in 2023. It started leaking in 2025. When we first contacted them for warranty repairs, they refused to honor the 5-year workmanship warranty, citing unpaid late fees. When we filed a claim with their Surety Bond, American Eagle Roofing then claimed the leak is not a leak, but a ventilation issue. Then later, they said they are no associated with the original contractor. They kept changing their stories from, "No Warranty due to Unpaid Balance" to "a Ventilation Issue" to "No Longer Associated with the Original Contractor." They have tried multiple tactics to avoid warranty. Cannot trust a company that behave this way. Larry was generous with info and worked with me on a couple of additional things I wanted to get done. I knew about Logan Roofing because our general contractor who built our garage used them for that project. They did a wonderful job then so we felt good being repeat customers with them for the house re-roof. Getting a roof replaced on your home while living in it makes you and the contractors almost like roommates for a week or so. It's a very invasive project and Larry, Adam, and the crew were very kind and considerate of us throughout the project. They also advised us on a few things about our house while they had the roof off. Valuable things like a recommendation to add a couple of vents to help cool the attic in the summer. They also installed a roof vent for our bathroom fan by my request and the price for that was very reasonable and fair. Although they found very little dry rot, they didn't charge much to fix it and were very honest and candid with me about the condition of our roof in general. I think we came out of this project with a lot better understanding of our house in general. I saw some other reviews mention about not responding to texts, etc. People need to understand that this is a small, local company that gets most of their business by word-of-mouth. I don't think they even have a website. Just good reputable hard-working people and they did a wonderful job on our roof. We were glad to have worked with them.

When the inspector came out, the work did not pass because of some items he missed. When the work finally passed inspection, i handed him my check and he never said a word, got in his truck and drove off. Overall, the work appears to be good but the customer service was poor and the insistence of payment prior to final inspection left a bad taste and made me suspect that if I did pay him, i would have never seen him again. I cant recommend this contractor. If you hire him make sure the contract clearly spells out the scope of work, including all items required by Code, and under what conditions progress and final payments are made.

The Owner/Contractor David Saruhanov came out to meet me and discuss the project. He offered much more than the other two bids I got and he was very specific of the job they would do. What was most important to me was the warrantees, which he offered 25 year warranty for workmanship, and 50 warranty from GAF for any materials that should not hold up. The other two proposals only offered either a 7 year or 10 year warranty. I had a very good feeling when discussing the project with David that he would deliver what he said. And that is exactly what happened. I would highly recommend anyone needing roof repairs, new roofs, or reroofs, to check out The American Cool Construction Company. Their bid was barely more than the other two bids and the warranties much longer.
