Ordered an XL pizza for delivery they quoted 20 minutes but it took an hour and a half and two phone calls later. Why would I give them 5 stars then, right? Well, the same woman that took my order called me back the next day to personally apologize and make it right. She spoke to her manager and they credited my account for the amount of the pizza. They were slammed, she accidentally put the order as a pickup instead of delivery and you can see how the situation spiraled a little bit. Still the best pizza in town, but I finally got around to trying their sandwiches. The Philly Cheesesteak is very good. The salad selection here is pretty limited, which is my only real knock against this place. They have a surprisingly large beer selection with very good prices. Gia's is my mom's favorite place for pizza and it is always consistently good. We had their wings, salad and meat lovers pizza. It has a sweet sauce and good amount of toppings. It had a great lunch special when we stopped in that afternoon. The waitress was one of the better servers I had in months when comparing to other restaurants. I heard great reviews about this place so we gave it a try. We ordered the largest deluxe pizza, gias house salad with Italian dressing, order of toasted raviolis, cheese bread and wings original. The wings were delicious! Slightly spicy but cooked to perfection. Toasted raviolis were not bad, but not good either. Garlic cheese bread was super disappointing. Looked like a slice of cheese slapped on a slice of bread and barely melted, no flavor. Gia's house salad was nicely put together, but the Italian dressing tasted like sugar water. And lastly and sadly, the pizza pie. We ordered traditional sauce because the reviews stated the gias red sauce was too sweet. The traditional was loaded in sugar also! It ruined the whole pizza. I also asked for light sauce and it was dripping off the pie. We couldn't eat it and was very disappointed. I used to love Gia's pizza, I lived in Shiloh and it was nice to go grab it every once in a while. I have now moved to Fairview Heights and don't get over there often. The reason why I am posting this review is because I believe that Gia's has gone downhill. Last week I ordered carry-out pizza, wings and a sandwich from there. I got there a few minutes early and my pizza wasn't completely done, no problem. Only to get home to find they only gave me half the wings I paid for and my pizza was cold because they pulled it out of the oven before it was done. I watched them pull it out when it was about half way through the oven. At the time I didn't think anything of it and thought well maybe they always do that, but then the cheese was not all the way melted on the pizza and in the middle the sauce was cold. I called them and they offered me a credit for the wings, which is fine. But then I go back yesterday since I don't want to have a credit sitting out there. I ordered carry-out a pizza, wings and toasted ravioli's. Go to check my order before I leave this time and they didn't give me all of the toasted ravs. It was a simple counting mistake, but a mistake at any means. But that wasn't my biggest issue. Currently we have a mask mandate in St Clair county and they let two people come in and wait for food with no masks on not enforcing the policy. Not only that, two workers in the kitchen were not properly wearing their masks. I get it people don't like to wear masks, but if you don't want too stay home and don't go and pick up food. I work for 8 hours a day with a mask on, it is doable. Not sure I will be back until after COVID. read more

So, Pappa Vito's is now Gia's Pizza, I was a bit worried a few weeks back when I pulled up, but luckily the menu and that awesome Buffalo Chicken Pizza stayed the same. I've rarely ventured in here outside of the lunch crowd, but service has always been prompt. The buffalo chicken is hands down my favorite buffalo chicken in the metro area, just as for double the chicken on it. On a recent visit my son and I tried the double layered peperoni pizza. It is essentially a pizza placed on top of another pizza. Unfortunately it sounds much better than it is when executed. I found it hard to eat and cut as the top layer kept sliding off the bottom layer. No worries though, I have my usual and I won't stray from that very often. I also had the chance to sample their wings again. My first experience with their wings was less than stellar, and it had been about three years since I had tried them, but I had a check in offer for a free order of wings with a $20 purchase. We went with the pyro sauce and I was pleasantly surprised. They had a fair amount of heat to them but they were also much better than I remembered. I'll be sure to revisit them for wings in the future as well as their buffalo chicken pizza. read more

I'm a Chicagoan and I've never had St. Louis style pizza. Even though, this place is not exactly in St. Louis, it's not too far from the city. My cousins took me to this place for lunch and we had the buffalo chicken pizza. It is very unique and different from the Chicago-style deep dish pizza that I'm accustomed to! The crust was cracker thin and it was crunchy and sweet. We also order the house salad, chicken wings, and fried ravioli. The fried ravioli was also unique and from what my cousins told me, it's a St. Louis kind of appetizer. To give you a visualization, it's ravioli that is deep fried, so it has a crunchy skin. I can't say that this is the definitive "St Louis style" pizza, since this is the only pizza I had on my visit, but it is a great pie with the characteristic super thin, square cut that makes up St Louis stye pizza. The crust is almost cracker-like since it is made without yeast. The sauce was definitely sweeter than any other pie I've ever had. Service was great. Draft and craft beer selection was great, including a tasty local Civil Life Brown Ale. Interestingly Gia's is located in the oldest building in O Fallen. I took my daughter, Gia (9 years old), here for lunch the other day. We really enjoyed it. I loved the crust on the pizza. It was perfectly done. Next time I will not get the sweet red sauce. It was good for what it was. I just don't prefer sweet flavors on pizza. And I will order a different pizza should I go alone or be able to choose. Gia wanted cheese pizza. For me, pizza is about fifty percent ingredients and fifty percent atmosphere. Papa V's is in my top ten for both. If a pizza joint hasn't had a sedan from the 50's visit it in the last week it probably isn't going to be to high on my list. Seeing a '55 Bel-air in front of Papa V's was a good omen for this comfy mom n papa pizza place. The pizza is good too.. Thin crust, the sauce is not over bearing and they have every topping combo you can dream up. Options for every direction that the road travels.... Though I must warn the Carolina folks that there is no sweet tea. Good pizza, indoor/outdoor seating, in ol'town O'Fallon... My vote? A must try.. PS.. The yelp options are old for Papa Vito's. I first was introduced to Gia's when my company had a Armed Forces Bowl party here. Great pizza and bear selection. This place is a smaller restaurant but really good in anything that I have tried. Some of my favorites are the buffalo chicken pizza, BLT pizza, Veggie deluxe (is one of our office favorites), Fresh garden and my favorite is the chicken alfredo. I recently have been introduced to their garlic bread, which I will happily save a month's worth of carbs just to eat the whole thing myself. I am biased toward sweet sauces on my pizza and Gia's delivers. I don't know a lot about their history, but I can say that this is a great thin-crust square-cut pizza. Their version of 'meat lovers' pizza piles on toppings like I haven't seen in a long time. I have seen Gia's be a little skinny on the cheese a few times, but the taste and toppings make up for that. Located in O'fallon. It is a cute location with ample space inside. We ordered the special which was Lg pizza, large salad, and breadsticks for $24.95. Thought it was a great deal for the amount of food. We had a large group so we also tried half alfredo/buffalo chicken pizza (bonus points for allowing half and half). We aren't used to the sweet sauce, so if you don't like it, I would prefer asking for original sauce. I did not care for the sauce, but a couple of my friends loved it. I did however really like the specialty pizza. So I would go out on a limb and try something different, if you enjoy the tradition style flavor pizza. Service was good. Our favorite pizza place in O'Fallon is Papa Vito's! We order about once a week for delivery and really enjoy the quality of the food. The pizza is a thin crust, covered with a very sweet pizza sauce and lots of toppings. The quality of the ingredients is very good, as there is never grease on the top of the pizza. We typically get pepperoni, hamburger, mushroom and onion. However, the Buffalo Chicken and Double-Decker Peperoni pizza are unique and outstanding. We also love the chicken wings, which are baked in the pizza oven, and not fried. (Tip: We have them send them through twice to make them extra crispy.) Also, the house salad is excellent with very fresh lettuce, cheese, real bacon bits, pepperoni and homemade croutons. Their house dressing is a sweet Italian and quite good. The restaurant is located in a great historic building in downtown O-Town and have a nice outside covered patio that can handle bigger groups. Sometimes their delivery takes a bit longer than the other guys, but I think that is because they are busy and take a bit longer to make the food. I hope that Papa Vito's is the anchor for other downtown businesses for a long time to come! read more

This was my first time trying gia' s. In my opinion the pizza was a bit pricey and it wasn't worth what I paid for it. I got the bbq wings and a 12 inch pizza. The wings were pretty good but my pizza was a little bit on the dry side. I asked for extra cheese and I don't believe I got it. I would definitely say if you don't like sweet pizza sauce then this pizza isn't for you, other than that the customer service was good.
