The store is in SERIOUS need of renovations - including the parking lot. This is especially true considering the nearby competitors. The produce goes bad much quicker than do other stores. If you are looking for a well-stocked grocery store with ample fresh produce and employees who like each other, I think your experience at this location will be fine. I've noticed some of the lower star reviews complain about the prices. In my honest opinion the price of this location doesn't vary much from the Giant the next town over. And I know this because I visit both locations on a weekly basis. The store employees can't do anything about prices so don't let the thought of high prices be the reason why you don't stop in when you need something. Plus, there are often unadvertised discounts on items throughout the store that can be cheaper than competitors. Look out for yellow labels that are marked 33-75% off. As far as customer service goes, the main name I remember is Karen. I think she's a manager or assistant manager. We generally don't shop here but came here to get the covid booster shot for my 12-15 year old teenager. The check-in at the pharmacy took like 7 mins, they asked for our insurance info even though we had an appt and had pre filled all the info online. After check-in, we waited for about 15 mins before the shot was administered. The Pharmacist was nice and professional and gave the shot. I would recommend this store/location to anyone considering them for taking there covid vaccine or booster shots. (Definitely better than standing in the long line at DTC). read more

This store will literally steal your money. Placed a small order (~ $50) for a couple items at their sale price. The particular product was a 12-pk of Dr. Pepper. It was on "Buy 2 Get 2 free" sale on the website. If you didn't catch the sale price it would be $9.99 each. So, of course, I went for the deal. Because you'd be out of your mind to buy anything from this store if not on sale; this store has the highest prices of any grocery store nearby. Upon arriving to pick up the order, there was only two packs of Dr. Pepper. When I asked about the other two and mentioned the deal being offered the associate told me they would, "go ask their manager". Ten minutes later the associate returns and informs me the manager has denied the sale price and told the associate to tell me, "if I want four I have to buy four". I refused the entire order, cause again, why the hell would you purchase something that is $3.20 more expensive per 12-pk when you could get the exact same product from Target for $6.79? The store has, so far, refused refunding the amount I paid for my order. The customer service rep from Peapod has also refused refunding the order. Either the associate or the manager has claimed that I did in fact pick up the order... but I didn't. They can check the cameras. I walked out of the store empty handed. We have been going to the Giant North Point since it opened. However, the service at the Pharmacy has deteriorated significantly. This is not a reflction on the quality of the pharmacists but on the front counter staff and general management. The front counter staff is exceedingly slow and if one person has an issue nobody else comes up to help move the line along. Store had good selection but the self checkout section has problems. Almost all self checkout machines had problems that needed assistance to fix when paying. The fellow working the section speaks no English so has difficulty interacting with customers since he can't understand them. Plus the self checkout counters were filthy with stains and trash like they hadn't been cleaned in days. Would be more like a four star if addresses these issues. read more

Every time I enter the Giant in North Point Village or pass by when I walk my dog, I see Mr. Hollis outside the store, hard at work, gathering the carts and greeting customers with a warm smile and a pleasant attitude. Popped into this Giant for a couple groceries and was surprised to find how big this place is. I've shopped at Giant stores before but this is true to the name. There were a lot of customers but the place was clean, well lit and organized. Nothing fancy but there is a good selection of items here. Plenty of lanes open made this a quick trip and even self checkout moving well. The cashier was some sort of a grocery savant; friendly, quick. And even bagged and filled my cart himself. Most surprisingly is how friendly he was, which you don't find even in the suburbs these days. I would come back here. Today I woke up thinking it would just be an ordinary Sunday, get up brush my teach, attend church, do the groceries, and you get the just. Too my delightful surprise things took a to for the better during my extensive time ravaging the isles of Giant and North Point Village Center. To be honest, I thought I was at an all time low as I struggled to find the butter but once I did I was proud and was destined for the check out line. Once I located the shortest line I also realized that my line had the most cheerful, welcoming, and courteous young lady, her name was London. She was able to make a normal Sunday afternoon errand into the highlight of my week! The renovations have done this grocery store a world of good. I enjoy the frequent wine samples too! The produce section is big enough, but it has been a bit spotty when it comes to freshness. The seafood seems pretty fresh, but when it comes to chicken and beef I would like more selection other than super high end and pretty bottom grade. Their selection of cheeses is pretty decent for a standard grocery store (obviously not comparable to wegmans). Good place to do standard grocery shopping in the area. read more

Working with Suyapa - she created BEAUTIFUL flowers that look like they came from a wedding flower shop. And The price was a steal. She was very responsive and kept me up to date on the schedule of her ordering/putting together the flowers. I highly recommend and have been telling anyone i know to use them. read more

Update - this business has closed. This Giant had a wide selection of produce and packaged foods, but is located in the Tall Oaks Village Shopping Center that has not proven to be favorable for businesses (three establishments here have all gone out of business). The produce at this Giant is not the highest quality as is typical of smaller grocery stores - I would recommend making the five-mimute drive to the Whole Foods at Plaza America for fresher fruits and vegetables. Service here is decent and quick as there aren't too many customers. There is plentiful parking space and a number of restaurants next to this Giant. Overall, it gets the job done but is nothing special for a grocery store. read more

I've shopped at a handful of Giants throughout Northern Virginia and this is my favorite location. While I can't say the product is much different from its counterparts, there are a few things that stand out about this particular store. The employees here (from the cart pusher, to the cashiers, check out attendants and managers) are among the friendliest I've encountered at chain grocery stores. This is the closest Giant to my home, so if Giant's got some stellar weekly specials, this is where I'm heading. This Giant is located directly off of Reston Parkway, past the town center and Home Depot, towards the intersection of Reston Parkway and Route 7/Leesburg Pike. The parking lot can get a bit busy, but I tend to do my shopping, like most things, during off peak hours. This location is pretty clean, so no complaints there. It has 2 redboxes, yup 2! As you can see I'm quite the fan of Redbox. I will warn though, during peak hours and right before 9 (when all redboxes are due back before you have to pay for another day), the Redbox line can get quite long. There's also a Starbucks in this location, but I have not been here for the coffee. They have a pretty good selection of everything here, it's a pretty big store. Large produce selection, fairly large meat department, I didn't recall whether there is a seafood department or not though, huge selection of beer/wine, and a large frozen food section as well. Staff has always been friendly. Another mild warning, lot of solicitors. The boy scouts/girl scouts/animal rescue people/etc. are always outside this store on the weekends looking for you to buy something/donate money. Call me Scrooge, but I don't like to be heckled when I'm rushing to buy groceries/beer to cook dinner/intoxicate myself. I'd love to buy your girl scout cookies/donate to your blind dog fund in a different venue. PS - I think a previous reviewer might have been mistaken, this location is not closed. read more

Yikes, in response to the new plastic bag tax, this location removed ALL of their plastic bags from the self-checkout area. Conveniently they moved their expensive, reusable bags to this location. Customers who are willing to pay the plastic bag tax and who did not bring reusable bags with them are forced to hand carry all of their items or purchase one of their items. Overall, this is a nice clean grocery store that is big enough to have a good selection but small enough to get through it easily and quickly. They do what they can to make your experience convenient, like lots of self check-out lanes plus those little scan guns you can carry around as you shop so you just plug in the items you've scanned at the end and pay at the self-service instead of having to swipe every item at the register. If you haven't tried it at least once, you should. They have some nice prepared food options, and great sales for Bonuscard holders. The staff is exceptionally friendly and my favorite thing about this store is that they employ several special needs individuals as baggers. They are very friendly and helpful, and anyone who has a loved one or friend with special needs knows how important this would be to their sense of fulfillment and independence. It's a very socially responsible thing to do and all things being equal, I will always go there to shop because of it. I hope other businesses will follow their example when they have appropriate opportunities. read more

I'll be honest - I shop at this Giant because I can walk there from my house. It's groceries, let's not get too excited here. But I will share a few of my observations. Pros - The staff: The folks at the seafood counter are awesome - friendly, knowledgeable, and very willing to get you what you need. The dude who stocks the produce department is extremely helpful. Most of the cashiers are friendly enough. One of the guys who bags your groceries for you invariably asks you whether you're enjoying the weather - rain or shine. Sometimes I want to write a screenplay about the Giant staff - quite a cast of characters. The Starbucks stand is gone (putting one in was a lame move since there's a regular Starbucks not fifty yards from the entrance). Now there is actually more room for stuff you want in a grocery store - like fruit. Cons - Check those expiration dates on dairy products!! I have twice purchased yogurt only to find out once I got home that the expiration date had come and gone a week earlier. Blechhh. That's it - no more cons. Bottom line at the bottom: Decent grocery store with good people, but watch the dairy section. read more

This has become my daily grocery store over Safeway and Whole Foods which are both much closer to where I live. This location doesn't have your typical hot bar, but does offer a salad bar, wing bar and fresh to go deli meats. The thing I love is that the salad bar is only $5.99/lb vs $9.99/lb at Whole Foods and Wegmans. The produce is generally very fresh. The best part is that they have a bunch of the small carts and there is a liquor store next door. read more

I remember when this Giant was built. They have kept the place on the up and up, very clean, very updated, lots of self-checkout tellers. Sadly however, it just cannot compete with the Harris Teeter located a mile up the street. From selection to prices, there is just no comparison. The major selling point for me is that I live walking distance from this Giant's location. I do also like the 2 Redbox machines inside, since the foot traffic is on the low side, they usually have movies that other locations don't. I miss the blockbuster that used to be located in this shopping center. The staff has always been friendly. (To me anyway) The parking lot can sometimes be crowded. (especially between 4-6pm) Soliciting is rampant, boy scouts, girl scouts, knights of Columbus, animal shelters, you name it. read more

I only go to this location because I bank at the PNC located inside the store. The bakery here may be the worst in the state and today I'm not feeling very valued as a regular customer of many years. A coupon I wanted to use was expired by a couple days and we all know how this game is played, am I right? A friendly employee comes over, hems and haws a bit, then overrides the system and honors the nominal savings on the total bill. Not here, and the employee/mgr who mumbled her two word retort, "coupon's expired" as she brushed on by had all the personality of a baked potato. Oh well, customer service is a thing of the past these days anyways, so I'll just eat my big bowl of crap and move on with my day. This is a nice, clean Giant. It usually isn't very crowded when we go, and everything is well-organized. They also implemented the self-service scan guns to make shopping "easier". This is fun to try out but it doesn't make the process go much faster unless you have a list and know exactly where everything is. The staff are polite and friendly. I notice this location employs more high school kids than other ones I've been to, but we always get "service with a smile" from them. For every dollar you spend, you can also earn points towards Shell gas. This is not really helpful for the locals who shop at this location because the nearest Shell gas stations are too out of the way to go and redeem their points. It would have been better to collaborate with Exxon. read more

This store is convenient. It's a walk from home and has everything needed. They don't have the best fresh produces...However, the pharmacy sucks. There is always a long wait, they are always confused with their system. I've been to pick up the same prescription several times (for my crohns which is painful) and only to be told it's not in the system yet, wait it is, oh wait we didn't fill it.... they've contributed to my flare up hands down. First of all, this is Giant. If anyone is really looking for specific reviews on here, I don't know what to tell you. I live close by this location so its always been very convenient for me to shop there. I see same employees working there and although I don't know them by their names or anything like that, still nice to see familiar and friendly faces. They have a lot of self check out machines and usually one or two cash registers are open at the same time. I personally think the waits are about the same, I come here once or twice a week and never once I felt the line was too long (except for holidays but I mean, come on) employees were rude, or not clean inside.
