I have shopped at Harris Teeter for several years, mostly because it's close to my house. Some…read morethings have bothered me for a while, however. They have a very poor bakery. They have no fresh bagels, and the cinamon rolls I bought some time back were inedible. Truly bad. Then, last night, I thought I'd try one of their pizzas. I took one bite and threw the rest of it away. Not just bad. I couldn't eat it. The produce department needs some work as well. Of the past 20 times that I went to get bananas, I could only find green bananas once. They are usually so ripe that if I don't plan to eat them the day of purchase, it would be pointless to buy them. It's sad, but I think I'll have to do most of my shopping at Giant.

Staff always seems content or happy, never flustered, mad, or disappointed. Staff are always very helpful when asked to assist with something. Decent prices on everything in-store. I highly recommend the rotisserie chicken from the deli section. The staff there are amazing and will let you know how long until the food is ready so you can come back or hang around and get it fresh. This deli sections "Boar's Head" meats display looked amazing, and was possibly the best display I have seen in a store for quite some time. The packages were all orderly and in nice rows, with nothing out of place. The TV above the display played a nice and cheerful product informational clip, and was very welcoming and clean.

I have never been to a store that takes such great pleasure in taking care of the customer as this chain. The only one it could compare to is Marlene's Market in Washington state. I'm new to trying vegan food, so this made me feel hopeful that i could find things i like to eat. Its a great place to shop if you're looking for organic, vegetarian, vegan, keto or other healthy food options. They had a wide variety of different foods, drinks, frozen meals, and etc. It was also a lot of different organic coffees and teas to choose from. They carry Buddha Teas which is a brand i like and there was a wide variety of flavors in other tea brands also. They also offer customers free water, coffee, and tea!! Sincerely that's awesome.. That's truly looking out for the customer. I haven't been to any other store yet that goes the extra mile to offer refreshments!! Wow!! I think you can find whatever your looking for in here and they have a lot of items that aren't in regular grocery stores. As well as a lot of top name brands. They're also well stocked and its clean inside. I wish i had a store like this where i live because I'd really like to come back. When you checkout there's a small fee for bags or you can buy a reusable bag. This store was fun to look around. I'd recommend stopping and checking them out!!

Aldi is a great place to stock up on staples; the stuff you need week-in, week-out. Most of their…read moreitems are private label. I felt like I was in Twilight Zone the first time there, as they actually concoct fancy looking packaging and branding for their products, but it's all brands I'd never heard of. They also carry a limited selection of items, and most items come in only one size. Many items, particularly larger ones, are simply stacked in the cases on the pallets they arrived on, rather than arranged on shelves. Over the last couple years they've greatly expanded their selection of specialty items, such as organic, low fat/low carb and gluten free. Aldi's items are, for the most part, high quality, and competitive with whatever name-brand product whose packaging they're loosely imitating. My experience is that they're using the same suppliers all the other chains use for their private-label products. If you can live with the store brand whatever from your current grocery store, you'll likely be happy with Aldi's version. And Aldi reliably undercuts Walmart, and well, let's face it, Walmart is undercutting everyone else. As mentioned in other reviews, you need a quarter to liberate a shopping cart. You'll get it back when you return the cart. Coincidentally, there are zero carts in the parking lot or around town. Do yourself a favor and bring the reusable bags you guilted yourself into buying. Or liberate boxes from the store (a practice the staff condones) to carry your purchases. Payment is by cash, EBT or debit only. No credit cards or checks. No dumb loyalty card. The entire business is built around minimizing your overall grocery bill, and basically everything they do differently from other grocery stores serves that end.

However what I don't particularly care for are the home goods and non-food items. Like lawn chairs and windshield squeegees. This things don't really make much sense to me in a store like this with limited space as it is. They also do not have pre-pared foods like most of their competitors carry. For example, a quart of Greek pasta or macaroni and cheese that you can just pop in the microwave and heat up. I did not see any Arizona iced tea, and extremely limited juice drinks. For those reasons, I would characterize this store as just fair. I come here to get the very basics to hat I need about once every two weeks, and I usually do not buy much more than that
