No russet potatoes? Let them eat rice! Giant Eagle is normally our go-to for produce. I understand that the supply chain is in shambles presently. But no baking potatoes?! People, potatoes are the reason the ancestral Irish (of which I'm partially descended) were able to quit eating the bark off of trees. Get it together! There are decent potatoes in many other local groceries. I've seen 'em. Still, the store is clean, generally well stocked, and has an above average beer selection for a grocery. Apparently, it's been years, and this location still hasn't done a thing about their crappy pharmacy. I called before I went and asked about a certain medication - wanting to check if a certain OTC was in stock or would need ordered. I was assured that the medication was in stock and kept behind the counter at the pharmacy. I then asked about if they had flu vaccines without egg, which I was again assured they also had. I even asked if appointments were necessary and I was told just to show up. I get to the pharmacy and there's a short line, but it took at least 20 mins to get through. There were two people at the counter, and at least a half dozen behind the scenes, but they still couldn't move people through at a decent pace. I can't stand for long periods of time and my service dog was trying to get me to sit down before I fell down. Add all the people hanging around trying to talk to and gawk at him, I wasn't exactly in a good place by the time I reached the counter. Now, the employee at first pretended not to know the medication I was talking about. And then gave me an attitude after I explained what it was and that I was told it would be here. She then said that they probably needed to order it - two seconds ago you didn't know what it was! She goes to check and they didn't have it. She said she could order it in, but I was already livid. I then asked if they at least had the egg-free flu vaccine and, again, she didn't know. She went to check, and five minutes later finally comes back to tell me that they can order it. Are you kidding? No, I'm not coming back tomorrow. I was told you had them, and spent all that time in line, barely avoiding a medical episode, and you want me to come back? Not happening. The worst part is she wasn't the least bit apologetic over the situation. Even after being told that I had called to check and were told they had both in stock. She just gave me attitude about it. I really like this grocery store. It's always incredibly clean, the meat is always fresh and it's always fully stocked. Now they have this great feature where you can simply order your groceries on the computer, select an appointment time and then pick them up...all for $4.95. I've used this service on 3 separate occasions and they haven't missed one thing from my order! Incredible! If they're out of something, they'll substitute the closest possible item and price match. That's so convenient. I tried this type of service at Sam's club and they would continually get my order wrong...and then I'd call and they couldn't care less. GE really cares that my order is right and that I'm satisfied with it. I have two disabled children (with special diets) and going grocery shopping for hours was so difficult...GE has solved this problem for me and made my life so much easier. read more

Well I'm done with giant eagle. This is the last straw. I bought a bunch of wine yesterday that is unopened and I still have the receipt. I bought it for a party that has now been canceled due to COVID-19, and they won't let me return the unopened wine. Thanks for being supportive during this pandemic, not! read more

It never ceases at this pharmacy. Every time I go in to have a script filled, there is always some confusing issue as to why they can't file through my insurance card. For these reasons, I've stayed away for a long time. But thought, I'd give them a second chance. The pharmacy clerks didn't appear to know what they were doing and when I stuck to my guns because I knew my insurance was good, they got indignant. I could hear them talking about it after I walked away. Ended up paying more than double what I should have, even after they said it would be a lower price. Been burned by this pharmacy once. Been ill treated a second time. I refuse to go back now. Ever. read more

I am very disappointed. I really like Giant Eagle party trays. We had a death in the family of a very dear friend and I wanted to deliver a few party trays to the family, because I am out of town. First they won't deliver...which is fine. I could have someone pick them up. However, they won't let me order and pay over the phone. That really sucks. I needed something special, out of the ordinary and they wouldn't step up. In fact, the manage wouldn't even come to the phone. read more

This will be an endorsement of the previous review on this store's pharmacy. I called at nine this morning to have a script refilled. Practically couldn't get anything done unless I had the RX number. After being told it would be filled, I went there four hours later to see nearly a dozen or so people working behind the counter. Yet I stood inside the store in a long line waiting to pick up my script. When I finally was called up, the rep was so rude I almost couldn't answer. She was condescending and was emphatic that I had "nothing", even though I have a number of scripts there. She asked fifteen questions to see what script I was talking about, and sounded almost incredulous that I had called for the script earlier that day. Bottom line: no script. She told me she would do it then, it would be just a few minutes. After half an hour, I just left the store. No script. Here is my advice to Giant Eagle. Get people who can efficiently manage a pharmacy. Use people that know something about customer service and customer rapport. Hire more people if you can't fill people's scripts timely and/or when you say you will. The end result: I called my doctor and had my scripts transferred to a competitor of Giant Eagle. I will never use this pharmacy ever again. read more
