Giant Eagle is a Midwest chain of grocery stores. Very prevalent in the Cleveland/Akron/Canton areas of Ohio. We were visiting friends in Hartville. It seemed like every time we left their house, at some point before returning, we were pulling into a Giant Eagle parking lot somewhere. Like 7-Eleven in San Diego, there is seeminly a Giant Eagle on every corner. Not really that extreme, but it sure seemed like it. In SoCal grocery store terms, if Food 4 Less and Vons had a baby, it would be Giant Eagle. read more

I was just there. Bought a bag of expensive Sumu Oranges. 2 of the 6 in the bag were moldy and rotten. Bought 3 boxes of Giant Eagle Baking Soda. 2 if the 3 boxes were leaking. They also did not have everything I went there for. Very disappointing visit. At least check out was fast for a change. read more

Anytime I'm in North Canton visiting family, I like shopping at Giant Eagle. It's much larger than the stores in Los Angeles, so they have so much more to offer and it's not as crowded. I've always had a pleasant experience there and found everything I needed. Always clean and well lit! read more

Six months ago I lost my wallet. I called all the places I had been to checking to see if anyone found it, including Giant Eagle two days in a row. The first time I called I was told no one found anything but to call back in the morning and see if anyone put it in the office or put it somewhere where it would be safe. I called the next morning and was told no one turned one in and they didn't have any put up anywhere. Three days ago I got a call telling me my wallet had been there for quite awhile and asked if I was going to come get it. After spending money to get new license and waiting for all my cards to come in after having to replace them all, I find out it's been there the whole time. Nobody bothered to actually look and I left my name and number back when I lost it in case someone turned it in or they found it. Six months later they finally decided to look at my license, get my name and got my number off my giant eagle card. When I went in to pick it up yesterday I spoke to a manger and expressed my concerns hoping something would be done so hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else. But all I got from the manager was how he would have to look at cameras or schedules to see who worked that day and basically that wouldn't happen. It was too much of a bother. Just be careful when you are there and try not to accidentally leave something cause customer service and manager won't help. I'm sorry but that was ridiculous that all my stuff had been there in their office for six months! I definitely won't trust that giant eagle anymore. read more

The situation escalated quickly when he accused me of trying to obtain a prescription I wasn't entitled to, despite the fact that my primary doctor's office had originally confirmed what was needed. The pharmacist ignored the facts, became aggressive in tone, and started to manipulate the situation, making me feel like I was in the wrong. To make matters worse, he attempted to downplay the situation by offering me a discount of $25, which seemed like a mere attempt to brush things under the rug. I suspect they initially charged my insurance company a significantly higher amount, likely $500 or more, and the pharmacist seemed more concerned about deflecting the issue than addressing it fairly. His unprofessional behavior, lack of empathy, and failure to communicate properly with me made me lose all trust in this pharmacy. This experience was not only disrespectful but also raised serious concerns about the lack of understanding of basic procedures, including HIPAA regulations. I strongly feel that this pharmacist's actions were inappropriate and unprofessional, and I would recommend avoiding Giant Eagle Pharmacy in the future. The treatment I received was unacceptable, and I will never trust them with my healthcare needs again. This review is for the pharmacy and the card department. The pharmacy seems incompetent and unable to fill prescriptions how they are written. I had a 90 day prescription filled and they filled it for 30 days. Now I have 0.67 refills remaining. Who does that? Now for the cards I'm here Mother's Day looking for a card for my mom they have over 100 Mother's Day cards and not one of them is of any brand of card that is directed towards African-Americans. I know it may not seem like much to most people but for me it's a big slight. African-American shop at this store and I'm tired of being ignored. read more

Been going here for the past decade and will continue to keep going. Never had much issue other than it being a little expensive and checkouts lines are long sometimes. Wish they had more "express" self checkouts lanes for us just running in and out. But all in all, still one of my favorite places to get groceries. read more

I so wanted to like this store. We are new to the area, and are looking for where we will buy our groceries. Out of 16 items, we were overcharged for 10 things. The other 6 items were accurate. Taking our receipt to customer service resolved some of the issues, but later evaluating the transaction revealed over payment of around $3. Unacceptable. Customer service was not helpful. Frustrating experience. We won't be back. read more

I wish I could give this grocery store a better review, but it is one of the worst Giant Eagles that I go to. I have been using curbside pick-up recently so that I just pick up items that I need. The online ordering component is great, and not a problem. Upon check-out I always put no substitutions, yet for some reason this Giant Eagle decides to go ahead and substitute missing items anyways. Other giant eagles will call me to let me know if items aren't in stock, but not this one. They just do whatever they want to. Along these lines, they have been sold out of multiple pieces of my order on quite a few occasions recently. Some of the staff there are nice, but there are many who are not very kind. The store itself seems pretty clean on the inside and their cakes are amazing. These items are what is saving this place from a one star review. I will no longer go to this Giant Eagle. Instead, I'll go to the one in Canal Fulton or the Market District in Green. read more

I am giving a review for the Giant Eagle on the Strip, and three other locations. First the Strip. Clean, Pretty good selection. Very nice people. Never had a problem with anyone in this store. Things they should work on: Keeping the stock up a bit better. (although I do know a lot has had to do with Covid) But, all and all I love this store. Massillon Location: Eh...In a pinch it's okay, but the selection is scant. If it weren't for the fact there is no other grocery store near this location, I think the sales would drop dramatically. Third Location: Raff Road..Good selection, clean, but could be better. Location is a bit dangerous. I have had two different shoppers make me feel threatened by their actions. NEVER go there at night. Fourth and my FAVORITE..Green. Wonderful selection, clean, great staff, zero problems at this location as far as I am concerned. It's even fun to shop at this location. There is one more location I also love, but it's not as near me as the others, but the Strongsville location is the BOMB!! Five star rating is only for the Strip, Green, and Strongsville locations. read more

Rude customer service speaking with baker over the phone. She appeared to be inconvenienced by my inquiry to see if my husband could pick up cake 2 hours earlier than scheduled time. I had ordered a cake on Friday and had scheduled to pick it up Sunday at 2pm. She didn't ask for my name to figure out if it could be ready or not. She just said "I haven't even gotten to the 1 pm cakes" and didn't give me an estimated time that I could pick up my cake but when I asked she said 2 pm. I understand if it cannot be completed before the scheduled pick up time, however, she could have been more professional and polite regarding it. She simply was not friendly. Next time I need a cake, my business will go to a store with better customer service to avoid such rudeness. read more

I called the manager Joe that explained he would allow me to purchase something else Because obviously I didn't want another pack of bad chips. Cashier was complaining to me about how little she was paid while bagger chined in. I get it. I've been there before working a job like that. Issue was I shopped here and purchased almost $100 worth of stuff and didn't receive $9 worth of products. No it isn't a lot of money and I would have had no issue going back if I didn't shop here on my way home which was an hour and a half away. Called Customer service after I realized it was gone. Was told to come back and they would give me the items. Reiterated I was an hour and a half away and he said well I guess you won't be able to get your items. Was told I should have checked my bags. Yes because I'm gonna go thru a $100 Order. 2 employees handling items you would think they would get it right. So now I have to go buy them again locally. I'm not gonna make a 3 hour round trip to get items. I didn't get an apology. Nothing. I don't go down that way but maybe 2 times a year so no I won't get my $9 worth of stuff but I will be calling my bank to dispute that amount on my charge. Ridiculous! This review is directed towards the Pharmacy. I came to pick up a prescription and they asked if I needed a flu shot. Since I've put it off, and it didn't look busy, I said yes. Over 30 minutes of waiting later, they finally called me to get it. The pharmacy had literally no customers. This is terrible service but should be expected for a grocery store offering flu shots. Understaffed to provide the services they offer. If you are going to offer all these services, staff accordingly to avoid making your customers wait ridiculous amounts of time for a simple service. I won't be back to have this done at Giant Eagle. read more

Selection, layout and convenience are the good points. The bad - pricey big time compared to area competitors that just concentrate on selling you food without all the fanfare and flair. If you really want to save money on groceries here, avoid name brands, avoid the produce period and try to shop here for as little as possible because there are way better priced options in the area. read more

the worst pharmacy I have ever gone to in my 27 years of life within 2 months I went 3 times and all three times they screwed up 2 of the times making me wait an entire weekend before I can get my medication in one of the times because they didn't know how to read their directions correctly tried to tell me I had to wait two days right when I had came from the doctor who called the prescription and just like the previous three and specifically told me that I could get it feel that day to be more specific he told me I could get it filled as soon as I left I called them they said it will be filled in our I get there after buying food that is disgusting cold to pick up my prescription only to be told I have to wait two days when I told them they have something messed up the lady I'll give her this credit did go back and ashy scene I was correct they didn't read the order right instead she asked me to wait 10 minutes well let me tell you I waited 10 minutes and then 10 more minutes and then another 10 minutes during our snow storm freezing cold wasting gas with a little Yorkie in my lap ridiculous I don't care if they have the cheapest price anything I would never use them again also they have a new policy and its giant eagle only that they will not price match on any controlled substances no price match any other substance but not controlled ones Rite Aid real marcs will Walmart will if you could read something as negative stars Giant Eagle pharmacy you would be itand lastly I am never want to get on and leave messages about stuff like this but when I see a family member in pain because the pharmacy doesn't know how to do its job this is one of the only things I can do about it and I'll be damned if I don't do everything I can read more
