Joyce was really nice, however when we got home we learned the horse was wearing egg-bar shoes... Which I quickly learned was not good. When I called Joyce to question her about it she simply said, "oh, that is how she came to us and we have just continued to shoe her that way"... Well I have only been around horses a few months now and seem to know much more than she did. After multiple people telling me the horse is lame, we had her x-rayed, sure enough she has bilateral navicular.The horse is really useless at this point.When I called to tell her about it she suggested we could breed her. We bought her for our 8 year old to barrel race. I am sure not into breeding. Bottom line... she is not willing to make the deal good, she is unwilling to admit any wrong doing. She simply lied to us and now we are stuck with a pasture ornament. If she really didn't know, you don't want to buy from anyone that ill informed, if she did know, you don't want to buy from someone who is dishonest... With all that said... I would never purchase anything from Rolling Hills Farm again and I suggest you don't either.

Lots of fun activities, including swimming, hiking, horseback riding, archery, target shooting, climbing wall, ropes course, crafts, outdoor skills, nature exploration, and more. It's not convenient for us to get to, but everyone we've known who's gone has loved it and wants to do it again the next year. Be careful about using Google for directions. If you punch in the address, it correctly finds it, but if you just search for Camp Ondessonk it puts a pin in the map in the wrong location, looks like a few miles away from the actual camp, at somebody's house. Hopefully they'll get this fixed soon.

I made an air bnb reservation on the site. The dates were clearly available on the site. The…read morereservation and payment was entered, acknowledged and accepted. A reservation number was provided. I was asked to provide the expected time of check in and the reason for my travel. I reluctantly entered the reason as "to view solar eclipse" on April 8, 2024. The reason for my travel is none of Dan's business and in hindsight I shouldn't have provided it. Several hours later I get an email from Dan canceling the reservation with the statement, "The cabins are not available for eclipse viewing. We have something else planned for the eclipse viewing. Those dates should not have been available on the website. They should have been blocked off. That's a glitch." It was very unprofessional of Dan to cancel a reservation made on their own site with open availability and to inquire in to our personal travel plans. The cancelation was arbitrary and discriminatory. Regardless of what their own site says and allows you to do as far as making a reservation and providing payment, be aware Dan will backdoor your plans after you think you've made a reservation, even with a reservation number provided. This was a terrible business experience. Here's the real crux of the issue: The dates were not blocked off and were available For $115 per night. When he realized he can get so much more than that, Dan disallows my reservation. We'll see in the coming days/weeks what the new price is on those properties for those dates. Shame on Dan and Camp Manitowa.

This is a positive, healthy environment for the humans and the horses. They are always attentive to what your horse needs and they go above and beyond to make this a welcome place to board and ride your horse. The horse care is absolutely the best in the area. My horse was one of the first on the property when they opened. She was only 3 at the time and thanks to the amazing care that Crystal provides and the safe, horse friendly environment of the barn, my horse has grown into a well adjusted beautiful 6 year old. My coaches have commented on how healthy she looks and how good natured she is, which would not exist without CWEC. The barn is a zero drama environment, which is VERY difficult to get in a boarding barn and is due to Crystal managing the barn in a professional, transparent manner and making sure she fosters an environment that does not tolerate drama. Crystal has a lot of medical knowledge about horses as well and is very attentive to her boarders, so I never worry when I go out of town as I know Crystal will have it covered. In addition, Crystal is an attentive and caring instructor who prioritizes safety. Her students have many opportunities to attend shows both on and off the property. The facility is beautiful, clean, and safe and has good footing that is well maintained in both the outdoor and indoor arenas. We would truly be lost without Crystal and our CW family.
