What a gem! We've had a vacation property near Arnold for 2 years and just tried Giant Burger. Boy, have we been missing out. The portion sizes are great, the produce was fresh and overall quality of the food was wonderful. Our family enjoyed a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon, pastrami burger, grilled cheese and an order of chili cheese fries. The fries were so good with a crispy seasoning on the outside, the chili tasted homemade and the sandwiches were impressive. We will definitely be back. Sorry we haven't visited sooner. read more

Always delicious food, been coming here for 30 years. The Burgers taste like home made and I highly recommend dipping them in their bbq sauce, which tastes like hickory bourbon. The service is good, although I've never been there at a time where it isn't busy; as such the wait time is always a bit on the long side. Stomped in at this Arnold landmark for a dose of nostalgia, as Giant Burger has been part of our family vacations since the 70s. We were greeted by a very friendly and accommodating employee who was quick to help us grab a selfie in front of their classic sign and carved bear. We were immediately helped with our order that included their massive mushroom, Swiss burger, and a surprisingly delicious chicken Caesar sandwich. Both were served quickly and hot and fresh! Required tons of napkins, but completely worth the effort; beefy, savory, and perfectly cooked! We also sampled their delicious cheese curds that would be awesome after a day of skiing! New owners are bringing the standard back up here! We live locally and were nervous to try to get lunch on a busy summer Saturday in July at 2pm. Parking lot full and only three tables available. Sign at the ordering counter says current wait is 35 mins. We ordered two western burgers, garlic cheese curds, onion rings, chx strips + fries and a pineapple shake. My shake was ready in less than 5 mins and we had all of our food in 28 mins. Cheese curds were the star of the meal and my shake was delicious with actual pineapple chunks in it. Burger was dry and overcooked with burnt bun but that has happened before on busy weekends. We usually prefer to just order the sides (onion rings and fries) and shakes. At least give an honest time line said 35 it has been 40 and still a ways off and at least one giant order before mine. By the time food finally out it took over an hour and only after I asked what was going on after 3 orders after mine for burgers were called. I thought the "giant" was going to be a huge patty but it was a regular size and matched the price. I can't say enough good things about the chicken Parmesan. Yum! They make it on sourdough bread and fried the cheese to the bread. It was delicious! The garlic fries are a must! Seasoned and well coated with garlic and melted Parmesan cheese on top. Our order took 53 minutes to prepare and our shake was forgotten. The staff was extremely friendly to us and the food was delicious upon arrival. Fast forward years later and my husband and I now live in said cabin and Giant Burger is a regular stop even living here full time. Everything on the menu is GREAT.....my FAV is the Crispy Chicken Supreme w/bacon and cheese.....so, so good and it's HUGE! I usually save half for later. The fries are double fried so they're super crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside and everything on the menu is freshly made to order. They also have great milkshakes in tons of different flavors and soft-serve cones too! Give them a try when you come to Arnold, you won't be disappointed. The ambiance is pretty neat. They were playing awesome songs, like "Psycho Killer." They make all the food fresh, so don't expect the service to be fast. This isn't your normal fast food restaurant. They're more than that. The ketchup dispenser was out, so that isn't too good. There was a constant flow of people, so that's a good sign that this is a good place. After a few hours of playing in the colossal amount of snow up the mountain, these kids were hungry. We headed down the hill and it was just an absolute must to come here and get lunch. The fries were perfect. We ordered a bunch of burgers. The burgers were great. We got all kinds of different toppings on ours. Four kids means lots of changes. It all come out great. Two kids got soft serve. The soft serve is huuuuuuge! As big as nine year old's head. My other kids got shakes. Those were just ok. Im not a shake person but the kids didn't finish there's. The service was also fast. All guys were super friendly and they have great music playing too. We ate outside in the sunshine with the piles of snow all around. You WANT to like Giant Burger because it WAS good back in the day, but I truly can't believe how bad this place is now. I STILL go there ONCE in awhile to give them ANOTHER chance, but you gotta be WAY drunk or stoned to think this place is decent anymore. Last time I paid $36 for 2 horrible watery milkshakes, cold very mediocre chicken strips, and cold greasy onion rings. On the last visit, two other locals were VERY upset with their service and orders ahead of me. I gave up on the burgers already because I ate the good ones here frequently as a kid. If you think the burgers are good here NOW then you just never leave Arnold; the quality just is NOT in this burger anymore PERIOD. The staff is generally nice and trying; they just aren't trained or monitored appropriately. My review doesn't really matter because the tourists will still eat here. I gave the newest owners A LOT of chances before I posted this crappy review. I just like good food and hate being screwed over and over. Oh well. I do appreciate the staff trying though...a lot! PS, I NEVER go in to Giant Burger at peak times on the weekends so my consistent bad experiences have been at times when the food should have been at least decent. Our order took FOREVER -- our number was called a FULL HOUR after we ordered (lunch for 4 on a Sunday)... and when my husband mentioned the long wait when he was picking up the trays, the worker told him "sorry we're not fast enough for you -- we're not McDonalds" (!). A simple "sorry for the wait" would have made it alllllll better... but he chose to go negative. After a long day of hiking in the redwoods four of us stopped at Giant Burger for food. 1. The guy who worked the counter was super busy, but also SUPER helpful and sweet. 2. There amount of food choices was perfect. This is a place for burgers, some chicken sandwiches, and a veggie sandwich, and ice cream. AND FRIES. FANTASTIC FRIES. 3. There is a sign that says everything is fresh because it is not fast food. It wasn't slow, but it was FRESH. 4. The prices were reasonable - more than reasonable. 5. The food was GREAT. OMG the burgers were soooooo good. And did I mention the fries? The fries are crispy and double crispy and just perfect. 6. We didn't get ice cream or shakes but they looked great - just like I had when I was a kid all piled high in the cone with that twist of chocolate and vanilla.
