Saturday night - the place was packed. Not a great time or place for a first date. The service was not alright. The food was really just okay. But, the noise level of one particular table, it ruined anything that may have been good in that place. AND, nothing was done to stop them. Nothing. There were about 15 or 18 people, sitting at one long table, who really needed to be calmed down. The noise level from the group was insane. The loudest voices seemed to be those of a couple of men at one end of the table, but there was also a women in the party who seemed fond of standing on her chair while shouting out as well. (Yes. Standing on her chair (at least two different times.) There was screaming and yelling, though the group seemed to be content and enjoying themselves. The management should have done something about it. The ruckus ruined the evening. Drinks kept on making their way over to the table as well. I guess anything for a buck?? It was shameful that nothing was done to tame this selfish group. Those in charge should be held accountable. read more

I used to love coming here every Sunday after work for a beer and a pizza to take home. This place reminded me of my favorite neighborhood Italian restaurants growing up. Unfortunately after today I won't be returning. While I waited at the bar for my pizza I sat and listened to a local patron named Lisa with red hair go on about how she would like to take a baseball bat and bash the teeth out of Kamala and her team. How America is f*cked and headed towards communism. How Kamala is pretending to be black. The bartender and another patron who like to have his miller genuine drafts kept on ice were happy to oblige her in conversation. Too heavy for my liking. read more

Giannas is the place to go if you want fresh, delicious and generous portions of great Italian food. The atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting. I have booked our annual holiday party for my job there for the past 3 or 4 years and the owner , Carmine, couldn't be more accommodating. He is so easy to talk to and always fair and so generous. He aims to please his customers and he does just that. The food is awesome. My favorite dishes are their hot antipasto, which can feed a small army, and the chicken capriciossa. The lobster ravioli is a big favorite with my family as is the pizza. I've never had anything there that wasn't delicious. Give it a try , you will be back for sure. read more

This is a hidden gem in Yonkers! I came here a couple of days ago with my brother in law who had been here before. Service is nice the waiter refilled my coke without even asking me which is really pleasant most of the time you go to a place to eat and your begging for a refill. We had the buretta as an appetizer and even though it was late in the evening you could taste the freshness of the cheese and the olive oil was excellent. We also had the fra diavlo mussels which were good but my favorite was the calamari. It had just enough breading and it was nice and crunchy. My brother in law had the lamb chops and really like it and I had the chicken scarp which was awesome. I can't wait to come here again and try different things on their menu. read more

The Veal Parm was very good delivery was prompt and all seemed to go well the two stars are due to the inconsiderate manner they put to problems. The cold antipasto had bad bordering on rotten salami the manager wouldn't even call back The girl on phone offered a 50% credit I said this was fair she called back and told me the manager gave 25% and it seemed he wasn't even interested that people could get sick on this it's a shame that management has no people skills read more

The food is fresh and the sauce is pretty much authentic. It may have a different taste depending on what chef is in. I have never had any major issues here. One time my cucumbers were not good on the salad, but things happen. Overall the food here is good. I would have given four stars but the lady in the front seems so unhappy/unfriendly and she sounds the same way on the phone. Customer service is everything. Food is solid though.. Well thanks to Michael Longo I checked out this place. Cajun shrimp Over rice was off the chart. Spicy meatballs hot peppers also great. Never had a bad meal. Highly recommended! It was a pasta kind of day, so I went to Gianna's for an early dinner. The peppardelle dish with short rib & Veg ragout absolutely hit it out of the park. The pasta was silky smooth and the sauce never overwhelmed. I loved it! And the service was great. Oh and did I mention the portion? I took home enough for two more meals. The food here is a big cut above any of the red-sauce Italian places in the hobbit towns of the Hudson River valley. They have excellent pasta, eggplant rollatini and other comfort food favorites. Unfortunately the only subpar things on the menu are the two items I order most: meatballs and pizza. Meatballs here were a little tough and flavorless the last few times I was there. The pizza is better, but has almost no cheese on it. Unless you ask for extra you won't notice it's there, like Pepe's tomato pie, but the latter is a much better slice if you're in the area. Had lunch at Gianna's this past Sunday and was quite pleasantly surprised. Ambiance was nice and cozy on a somewhat chilly day. The restaurant was larger than we expected and was very clean. Service is very friendly. The hostess and our waitress were quite nice and our food came out quickly. Food is mixed: -- I had a salad and added shrimp. The shrimp was good and the salad was large, but it wasn't very flavorful, nor was it worth the almost $20 price tag. -- Husband had a chicken dish which was also good in size. The pale color was a bit offputting for me (I didn't taste it as I don't eat chicken). But he said it was okay. -- Daughter had a pizza which was quite good. -- Complimentary breadbasket was good, a bit on the dry side. Gianna's is really more of a 3 star place but the friendly service really warrants 4 stars. read more

I have been here a couple of times with mixed results. The service can be slow at times, and some of the dishes need some work. If you must eat here, I recommend sticking with the pizza. The chicken on the grilled chicken salad tasted like they added artificial smoke flavoring. I have had plenty of salads that were better. Solid. Nice, spacious restaurant, big portions. My life force comes from being really hungry and then starting a meal with a bit of bread dipped in olive oil with some parm sprinkled on it, and eating olives, while kicking off the meal with a cocktail or prosecco. They already had me here, because the bread is good and the olives are extraordinary. But everything I've eaten here is tasty and my family has always been satisfied with their dishes as well. read more

Wow such a great hidden gem! The food is excellent and plentiful. In the two times that I've been here, our server, Monica was excellent. If Yelp rated servers she'd get 5 stars too! I can't speak for the other servers but everyone always seems friendly and attentive. The prices may seem expensive but the quality AND the quantity is SO good that it's more than worth it. They also give you plenty of bread and butter. I had the Paillard which is like a Cajun spice chicken with broccoli raabe, mushrooms and peppers with gorgonzola (Italian bleu cheese) I love spicy, so this was a treat for me The gorgonzola added an extra flavor dimension I wouldn't have expected and it had plenty of spicy oil/lemon sauce to dip my bread in afterward! The only thing I can say is make a reservation because there is limited seating. However, you can always go to the bar and enjoy some of their signature cocktails while you wait! Sometimes they'll do a "Goodfellas" and create a table for you right in front of the kitchen, which makes you feel extra special! I love this place! read more

I heard great things about their Italian food so we ordered all the items recommended that we also loved to eat. I have the eggplant parm roll, friend calamari, penne alla vodka and the chicken scarpariello with mixed sweet and hot peppers. I was very disappointed overall. The calamari was not only chewy but had a fishy taste. It was almost inedible. The penne alla vodka was lack luster. The chicken scarp was decent but I could only taste one flavor - spicy. The chicken was moist and the sausage was good too but it was basic. The eggplant roll was delicious but I wouldn't go to an Italian restaurant for pizza. I would go to a pizza joint. My service was good. Everyone was kind and helpful. read more
