The originals paintings by Ms Schwaiko are all expensive (for us) but the prints are much more reasonable and reachable. The person we were visiting in NM had a print and it is stunning. I loved the sculptures the most. Small as well as some quite large ones displayed in the back garden. We picked up a small sculpture that we could not resist. Jane Cassidy, an artist whose work is displayed in the gallery as well, was very gracious and friendly to us. She showed us around the gallery and spoke about Jill's work extensively. We did not know she was one of the artists having a work displayed there until I mentioned how much I liked a piece in the window on the way out of the gallery, LOL. A piece that was very tempting as well. Madrid is well worth a visit if you are in NM, and the Indigo gallery should definitely be visited.

I just might find something I can't live without. And did I ever! They have incredibly beautiful pieces of jewelry made from Cerrillos turquoise. I got a history lesson on the 2,000 year-old mine as well as a certificate of authenticity for my pendant. Every time I put it around my neck, I think about the great vacation we enjoyed, and how I almost the opportunity to acquire a lifelong treasure.

This shop sits nestled between a couple of others on the main strip of town. It's a very rustic place to step into and it has no AC. Inside you'll find a lot of local art and crafts. Since this place considers itself a gallery, you can count on paying top dollar gallery prices. They do have a downstairs as well, but it looks more like a garage sale with extremely overpriced T-shirts for $20-$40 which Goodwill sells for $3-$10 and basically just a lot of junk. So if you're looking for some local art by local artisans, it's worth stopping into. Perhaps these photos included will get you through the door.
