Tan Tan Ramen with pork belly
    Angi C.

Visiting Victoria and was near Market Square. It was a cold, rainy day, so ramen sounded great. Waited about 25 min for a table for 5, not a huge place but had adequate seatings for smaller parties. We shared the deep fried gyoza- delicious and the fried chicken ( a bit rubbery)- they were small portions, about 5 pieces per appetizer, so we each had one piece. I decided on the pho- was delicious. My husband had the tan tan ramen- he loved it, spice level was great. My strawberry pearl cocktail was delicious. Service was great. Portions are smaller than I've seen from ramen restaurants and prices were a bit inflated. Overall though, delicious meal.

Was on a cruise with a stop at Victoria. Wanted some amazing ramen and Ghost Ramen checked all the boxes. My Husband and I wanted hot, yummy, comfy food. The restaurant itself is cute and comfy. Service was quick and so nice. We talked with the host and service it seemed like forever. I'm really hoping we get back there. It may be some of the best ramen I've ever eaten! GIVE it a try! N

I tried Ghost Ramen back in May and got another chance to visit it in September. All I have to say is yum! The tofu frites and gyoza (pan fried) are my favorite. I've only tried two of the vegan/vegetarian ramens and they were both so delicious. This is a spot I'll keep coming back to when I'm visiting Victoria.

Oh man I had high, probably elevated, hopes for this place. Amazing vibes, great attentive staff, and a legit looking menu. Their noodles are not made in house, but still locally made, and they do offer three different varieties. I found their broth rich but a little lacking in depth. Their noodles were good but not necessarily chewy and perfect. I ordered the Gyoza and they were amazing with a very unique dipping sauce that was out of this world, I ordered the shio tonkatsu and it needed something, added some chilli oils and boom it was great. I'll be back but this experience was only .... Good I know it could be great.

The best ramen in town. I have tried many Ramen restaurants in Victoria, BC. This is so far the best.

The best ramen in town so far. If you're in Victoria, don't forget to try this ramen They open from Wednesday to Sunday Monday and Tuesday they close

Tonkotsu. It looks nice in photos but it's a bit too salty and lacks umami.

Service: great (1/1 star) Food: below average (1/3 stars) Price/Value/Ambience: (1/2 star out of 1) The service is great. People are friendly, reasonably attentive. No complaints there. The place is bright and clean. Menus is via a QR code scan which is fine but I would suggest that they include pictures on their menu for the ramen challenged. The food was a disappointment. I got the Tonkotsu and I felt the flavor profile lacked umami. It was also too salty. The noodles were typical and the toppings, ramen egg and pork belly, were nicely done. However, for me, ramen is about the broth and noodles. They missed on the broth. The price is also on the high side. I was in Vancouver last week and ate Tonkotsu Ramen at a place at Metrotown. That ramen was lower cost, better dressed, and more importantly, the broth was much more flavorful.

We initially tried to go elsewhere, but because of the wait, we decided to walk up here instead. The menu looked great and they had availability right away. A nice surprise was that they were on late night happy hour when we arrived! Discounted mini ramen, gyoza, and fried tofu? I won't say no! Everything was so tasty! Loved the gojuchang mayo that the tofu frites were served alongside, but I'd suggest also offering a vegan dipping sauce as an option. Maybe the same dipping sauce that comes with the gyoza?

Reviews made it seem like the food and service was great but it really was very disappointing. APPETIZERS: karaage heavy breading, needed mayo for flavor BROTH: pork bone broth lacked richness and flavor, it tasted very bland. Shoyu broth tasted like hot water with boullion cubes, but needed more cubes tbh NOODLES: not overcooked but not firm, quality wasnt great. SERVICE: passive, unequal, very slow for some tables and very active for others. 13 tables and 2 bar counter tops with 5 servers and 1 bar tender not all occupied. PRICE: It was a mix, but the flavors didnt make it worth it. Will not be coming back but hoping that this helps others.

The most basic ramen ! Yummy !!!

Ramen took over 45 minutes to serve. That's way too long for lunch. That said - ramen was good.

We are big fans of traditional fare, but the Block is a place we are so glad we experienced and will certainly return utilizing the knowledge we garnered during our first experience. A big thank you to for helping us through picking one price fixe January exploration of your local restaurants and filling it with other ala carte additions. As we often do we ordered far too much food, wanting to explore everything off a menu that is far reaching. Not sure if our additions worked with the price fixe menu, but we sure enjoyed checking everything out. The interior is interesting with the addition of structural steel in the space to keep this heritage building (I think) standing tall for a few generations. We sure hope it's still here for a long while and will most likely come again the next time we are in Victoria. That is saying a lot as there are a wide range of restaurants in the neighbourhood, but you do want to check the Block out!

FOOD Salt (Shio) Ramen ($16.50) The broth here makes the difference - thick, and true to flavour when one steeps a long time with bones - it's good and flavourful, yet not too salty and it doesn't leave you thirsting to drink anything thereafter. The Japanese-style BBQ pork slices, delicately-boiled egg and bean sprouts of course work well. Pork Egg Don ($18.25) Great pork tonkatsu - lightly battered the way it should be and it overall a great choice of dish if you're not looking for something soupy! Fried Rice ($4 for regular size; $7 for large size if buying an entree) I think it's worth it - it's tasty but a little salty and the portion size is good ofr sharing between two people! === 3. SERVICE I've only ever seen three people work there before and so while service is professional, they can get a little busy when the house is fulll (which is not uncommon). But it's worth it. And the leader/owner (?) is always cognizant of little kids including my own and is ready to hand out a choice of a random Pokemon card to bring more smiles into the establishment! === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's all, a little dim, and maybe updated in the 90's. The lights are different coloured, but they clearly spend the money on the staff and food. There are a few two-seat, and four seat tables/booths. There is a single table that seats up to eight. Wheelchairs and baby strollers could fit but only barely and they may best stay near the front. Parking is about as lucky as you get in the shopping complex which seems to ebb and flow throughout the day!

Mostly spicy bowls (one non-spicy called the "Salt" that I always get due to food allergies). Lots of options for "extras" (e.g., meat, corn). You can get a basic side of fried rice that is a nice add-on. It has a warm, social vibe and is popular with the younger crowd. Appreciate that the guys offer my kid a Pokémon card at the end of each meal - makes him feel welcome.
