What a great idea for $23 to get a singular portion of an antipasta, salad, and smaller entree. I got the meatball, baby gem caesar, and spicy rigatoni pasta. I came hungry and left with leftovers. The caesar salad and pasta were amazing! The meatball was good but ricotta was served room temp where meatball was served hot. My friend and I agreed the temp difference was off. She got the meatball, roasted beet salad, and chicken parm sandwich. The beet salad wasn't her favorite as the arugula kept getting stuck in her teeth. The chicken parm sandwich had great flavor and was a large portion! I love this idea of a prefix menu for a fun lunch out. Highly recommend dinner OR lunch at Lucia Rose as you won't be disappointed.

I wanted her to try the pistachio as it always had the ability to roll my eyes with every bite. I was shocked when she said it was just ok. She was right! The pistachio cream didn't have the same taste, actually it had no taste. The cheese wasn't melted, but formed hard ribbons on top, and there was so much sausage the taste was just sausage and salt. Even had my husband taste it when I brought some home and he agreed. No eye roll. My friends margarita was equally as disappointing. The cheese wasn't melted, the middle was soft and sat in a puddle of tomato water when you opened it up. We were planning on meeting back again for dinner with our partners, but both agreed we're going to find someplace else.

We were served a really great crusty Italian bread and butter when we sat down. The restaurant was well staffed. Each of us had a good amount of leftovers to bring home. Prices are in line with other Italian restaurants in the area. Even a little less expensive. The server dropped off our bill. I usually don't look through the bill. My bad. This time I wanted to be sure we were charged the Special $8.00 Vodka Rigatoni special and not the regular $12.00 price for the dinner. My instincts were right. Our server charged us the $12.00 regular price. We asked a busser to find our server so she could correct it. We waited about 10 minutes for her to come back. She printed off a new bill with the corrected amount. I've had this happen to me before at other restaurants. I'm always a little skeptical about whether it was an honest mistake or if the server was trying to pull one over on us. I did not subtract any stars from my review since the amount was corrected, Husband reported that the Men's room was immaculate. We plan to return. We were happy with our experience.

This is my second time at the restaurant and we brought friends this time b/c we enjoyed our time the first time. Second time - not so much. I made the reservation several weeks in advance and put a request for the upstairs rooftop - b/c it's beautiful. I understood going in that it's first come first serve for it. However, I thought they would heed requests before seating others upstairs - if there were reservations. That is not the case. So - very pointless to put this in your request during your reservation. Needless to say - we got there and it would have been a 45 min wait at 6 pm for the rooftop. We opted not to wait. They then sat us in a "corner" by the freight elevator. Not ideal - but I thought - it would be okay b/c at least it's not as loud as the "main" area. What I didn't know - was that the "section" we were placed in was like no man's land. Took 10 plus minutes to get a waiter - but the kicker was there was no air conditioning in this section. Zero. None. It was hotter than heck! Those factors alone were not good. Water was brought - but no ice. Had to ask for that - and let me tell you - cold water in that heat was needed. The rest of the restaurant had A/C - just not the 4+ tables by the freight elevator. Moving on to the food. The food was excellent. I got a spicy mussels special, my husband got the Spicy Piggy, our guests got a veal dish and another pasta. We had leftovers the next day and everything re-heated just as good. We did not get dessert - much too hot and we simply wanted to leave the restaurant. On a side note - not that I would have wanted it that night - but they also don't serve coffee - just espresso (I think). Very odd to not have coffee - my guest thought. So - experience/atmosphere = 0 stars, but food was excellent - hence the middle of the road rating.
