Please avoid this facility, Chiropractic treatments have very little evidence in their effectiveness, I have always been apprehensive of them. Due to lower back pain, unfortunately, against my better judgment, on a friend's referral, I decided to visit "Dr. Claire" for some lower back pain that I had been suffering from for approximately a year. Upon initial visit to this place, I was told I needed a "detailed" assessment of my "spinal alignment" and "stance". This cost several hundred $$$$$ dollars of course. During the evaluation, I was unnecessarily exposed to radiation as part of the chiropractor's examination, this included images for my chest, abdomen, neck, and pelvis for this initial assessment. "Dr. Clair" supposedly then put together a "report" to review with me at a later visit during which she hypercritically tried to convince me that everything from my neck's range of motion down to my lumbar spine was asymmetrical and "out of alignment", she even exposed my pelvis to radiation just to later tell me that my stance was "incorrect". She forgot about the fact that exposing a young healthy female patient to pelvic imaging is dangerous to her reproductive system and should only be done when absolutely needed. Unfortunately, I agreed to simply ONE adjustment to start, the entire visit took less than 5 minutes and more money of course $$$$. Furthermore, despite being there for a lower back issue, the "adjustment" was done on my neck. TWO CRACKS, one on each side is all it took to place me in further pain for months to come. I have been injured ever since this brief encounter, my neck immediately developed severe pain the following morning and each morning following this visit and it has not resolved even after many months. I wake up every morning with serious pain in my neck, I suspect there may be nerve compression, I went in to see this quack doctor for lower back pain and walked out after just ONE SESSION with severe neck pain which still has not resolved. There have been NUMEROUS documented cases of imbecile chiropractors like Dr. Claire putting patients into wheelchairs by performing unnecessary and dangerous neck adjustments that have caused Vertebral Artery Dissections (VADs), turning otherwise healthy patients with simple lower back pain into quadriplegics. I had so much acute pain after seeing her just once that I feared I may have a slow bleed due to a VAD, so I went to UCLA's ER the days following my visit with "Dr. Claire". Thankfully, VAD was ruled out after imaging with contrast was performed and the spine surgeon and ER doctor said to never allow anyone to perform neck adjustments on me ever again. After being injured by Dr. Claire's "healing hands", I asked several of her fellow quack Chiropractors if its normal to perform these adjustment in such a rushed manner. ALL OF THEM have said that adjustments, especially to the neck should be proceeded by copious massage and other muscle relaxation techniques/devices. Also , neck adjustments, I was told should never be done with the patient sitting up, which is precisely what Dr. Claire did to my neck, she adjusted it with me sitting up without any prior massage or relaxation device used. To make this long story short, AVOID this place and Dr. Claire like the plague. Protect yourself and your loved ones from this place! Seek real medical care with a caring, skilled, medical doctor, they are few, but they are out there. This place just wants to milk you for cash and you risk sustaining an injury as I did. read more

Long review I've been going to GFCA since 2008, and I can testify that this office is the real deal. Last Tuesday night, my shoulder pain was so bad. I could barely move my left arm (raise it or not keep it bent at the elbow) the pain was excruciating. I had chills that night and took some anti inflammatory medications. I was thinking about going to urgent care to get an X-ray to see if it was broken. Urgent care opened at 9am, so I called GFCA at 8am to see if they could fit me in, they told me to come in and they would let me know if X-rays were necessary. They fit me in at 9am Wednesday morning. When I arrived they could see how much pain I was in, everyone was so kind and gentle. Evelyn hooked me up to a machine that would help decrease the inflammation and placed ice packs on my left shoulder/back. She was very cautious and made sure that my back and arm were supported. After about 20 minutes of the machine and icing, Dr. Claire came in and adjusted me. She explained everything she was doing and checked to see if my pain level was tolerable during the adjustment. She warned me during parts of the adjustment when it would be uncomfortable. This helped me tolerate the adjustment during the discomfort because I knew what to expect. But Dr. Claire was also very swift, like a ninja so it seemed like it wasn't that bad as soon as the adjustment to certain parts of my shoulder were done. After the adjustment I was put back on the electrical machine to decrease the inflammation and the ice packs again. I made an appointment for Friday. That Wednesday night, I was about 40% better, I could definitely notice a huge increase of range of motion in my left arm and shoulder and the pain had decreased significantly. Over the weekend my pain went away and my range of motion increased even more. I was able to return to work without any pain or other issues that Monday. Due to the curfews in LA, the next time I was adjusted was a whole week. By this time my shoulder had improved by 85%. They also give me shoulder rehab exercises, but I only did them twice. GFCA, Dr. Claire, Evelyn, Morgan, Taylor, and Debra have always been there for my family and I, but this time when I was in so much pain, they really fixed me. Thank you so much everyone. Side note: after googling "shoulder pain" all I could find were articles on how shoulder pain can become chronic and if the pain doesn't go away, it can lead to more inflammation, pain medication, and eventually steroid shots and/or surgery. I have come back regularly for adjustments since, but the most wonderful thing is that I'm really feeling longer and longer lasting effects of her treatment and guidance. The pain and problems that had been so chronic previously are much more intermittent now and continue to decrease. My ability to stretch and address these intermittent issues now at home has improved as well, and I credit Dr. Claire for this. She's the whole care package: immediate, preventative, pragmatic. Trust me you're gonna want to come here. Hear me out. I exhausted almost every possible doctor and treatment for my chronic migraines, ones that left me in the emergency room every night for the pain, or were so bad that I curled up in a ball on the floor of my freshman dorm room for hours. I wasn't eating, I couldn't sleep, couldn't think. I woke up every morning feeling like I was hit by a truck. I had hormonal acne all over my face, my back ached, my knees, my arms, my feet, you name it, something. was. wrong. I had MRIs, XRAYs, I was put on various migraine medications, given physical therapy, anxiety medication, antidepressants, and I popped ibuprofen like it was candy. I'd accepted that things weren't going to get better, until a friend referred me to this godsend. Glenfeliz Chiropractic Associates. Simply put, they've probably saved my life in more ways than one. After a detailed report of all my past injuries, some x rays, and an exam of my nervous system, they found extensive damage and subluxations along my back(in lamence terms, after the many kerfuffles that come with being an athletic and goofy kid, my bones and ligaments had been inflamed and nudged out of place over time, healing wrong and applying scar tissue- and were causing major damage to how my nerves work, giving me migraines and causing all my pain). The process started out slow but I was on my last legs anyways, so I stuck with it. Letting a stranger hold ur head in their hands and being told to relax while they twist it rapidly is weird. I have to admit. But the most amazing thing happens. For the first time in forever, you're able to feel relief! (Oh and also your body starts healing or whatever.) So I persevered, kept making that two hour round trip drive through LA morning traffic before heading back to school, all for a doctor to poke my organs and bend my neck and snap my joints. My friends still think I'm a little crazy for caring if I miss an appointment. But steadily, each appointment was easier, waking up was easier I started eating again, I started laughing again, and I was able to go on walks, look at screens without feeling my head pound. Not to mention, my posture got better and my friends said I looked taller. My stomach doesn't violently reject anything and everything, and I feel like IM the one who hit the TRUCK. or at the very least it only grazed me when it drove by(it's a work in progress.) The doctor even restricted my diet and get this... I LISTENED TO HER. And I'm 19! we don't do that. That's how much of an impact this chiropractic care has had on my health and well-being. Just a couple of weeks ago Dr. Claire was practically giddy to show me my XRAYS and go over my progress from the start of my treatment, but I honestly didn't really need to see them. Another thing that I found odd is that Dr. Claire leaves the doors open to the patient's room while she does adjustments and people (staff & other patients) stop in and talk to her while she is adjusting you. I was hesitant to see a Chiropractor because I didn't trust that my condition was going to improve after seeing a chiropractor. Dr. Claire explained the whole process step by step and gave me a sense of comfort when explaining what they were going to do for me to get better. She is extremely knowledgeable about the subject and takes the time to go over every question you might have. After a couple visits my shoulder started to improve and I started to look forward to going to the Chiropractor. Her office is always willing to work around my schedule, to schedule my appointments and they are always very efficient about getting back to me. I came to GelnFeliz by the luck of the draw on an internet search. I ran a rambunctious youth with gymnastics, diving, cliff jumping, and cross country running until I slowly had to stop all activity. I had been experiencing debilitating pressure in my head and nausea upon any jarring activity on my spine. A few years ago it caused me to give up running and grew worse over time to the point of not being able to walk without severe symptoms. I went through a wild goose chase with MDs. I had 7 MRIs and had two USC neurologists completely stumped. I even saw a neck specialist at USC who told me that I had two ruptured disks (C5 and C6) but he "wished all his patient's necks looked like mine," offered me no help, and sent me on my way. About to lose hope and accept that this would be the rest of my life, I googled chiropractors in the area and randomly called GlenFeliz. As you can imagine, I was extremely skeptical from the minute I walked in but they had great attitudes and I was willing to try anything at that point. I had an x-ray (which no MD even thought about giving me) and Dr. Claire sat down with me to explain everything. It was a time commitment but I will never think twice that the time was well spent. I was then told that I needed to come in 3 times a week to catch up with the rate that my spine was subluxating (essentially getting worse and worse). Being brought up in a western medicine mind set, I was shocked that one adjustment wouldn't just fix me up and send me on my way. But I committed and within about 4 weeks of regular visits I was able to walk again, symptom free. I could not begin to explain how good that felt and I began to feel hopeful for the future. This had me hooked and I started looking forward to my visits. I began telling all my friends and family about how awesome chiropractic is. I owe so much to Dr. Claire and Dr. Kristin and have grown to deeply respect their practice. They spend the time to make sure each patient is educated on their situation, why they are receiving specific adjustments, and what those adjustments accomplish. They begin slowly to see how your body reacts and over time add your necessary adjustments. Dr. Claire was a former pharmacist who gave it up for chiropractic. You can tell how passionate she is about helping people reach a drug free state of wellness. I have been able to put all my trust that any issue I have will be resolved over the course of my time at GlenFeliz. In terms of pricing they are amazingly affordable for something that will affect how you feel for the rest of your life. At about $57 dollars a visit during your first stage (about 3 months depending on your situation)and they work with insurance companies. I was happy to put up the money. After thousands of dollars spent on tests and no answers from MD's, it was money well spent. I am now considered a "Wellness" patient. I spend around $39 a visit in the wellness program and visit once a week. My biggest advice is that you need to commit. It seems like a lot at first, but a month later your ideas about health are completely changed. I cannot be happier that I am able to not rely on pills to feel well and I love preaching the words of chiropractic and jump at the opportunity to refer friends. (We even take pictures of our x-rays on our iphones and nerd out about them over dinner.) read more
