Yikes. Where to even start First, getting in and out is terrible. There's always cars or trucks parked where they aren't supposed to and very limited space. Especially with heavy traffic, it's hard to even pull in. The employees are awful. One was eating a sandwich while waiting on customers, touching the items and money all at the same time. On another occasion, I purchased a giftcard and bag a chips. I put the card in my purse but wasn't given a bag so after walking out of the store, I realized I forgot the chips. You want to know how many times I have been past this spot and never stopped? Too many to count. Want to know why I had never stopped? The intersection at which this location sits, it is one of the busiest in the city. I had avoided it at all cost because I was usually in this area during daylight hours. Recently I have had the chance to be near here in the late night/early morning hours which affords for a better interaction with the lot, pumps, and store. The intersection is basically empty, which means this location is basically empty. With that you have a quick and easy in and out. Gas prices are the norm for the area. The inside is a bit small which translates to not having very much in terms of snacks/drinks. They do seem to cover the basics really well. Friendly staff as well. read more

AVOID. Placed an order for their made to order food waited over 5 minutes after my order was placed. Still no one has started my food or is in the kitchen. Asked for a refund from the cashier, she no idea how to do it. This resulted in her walking back and fourth to a manager somewhere. She still couldnt do it so she decided to scream for him until he physically came up front and did it. Now ten people are in line behind me. Kitchen worker finally shows up and now hes yelling " no one told him there was an order" finally got my refund. Manager never said a word to me. Made to order burritos... you think this would be a simple task. You put all the ingredients inside of the burrito and bada bing bada boom, it's done! Not this place. The first time it happened... okay, sure... maybe someone new was making the made-to-order food. The next time I went in, I was smarter about it and asked for everything to be put inside of the tortilla... they argued that they didn't do it that way.... So not only was I, the customer, whom politely requested it to be MADE TO ORDER told that they wouldn't do it that way, but that they were taught to put the pico, sour cream, and whatever other sauce on the side. I used to come in here a lot but have lapsed in recent years, but once I found out that they now serve burgers, I just had to give them a try. Are they trying to compete with Sheetz now? Or the Wendy's across the road? Is there a Burger War underway in Lawrenceville? Perpetual war for perpetual beef? Anyway, they now sell an Angus Burger. No, it's not dressed in a schoolboy outfit. Jeez. I built my own. I do think the touchscreen thing is weird since the person behind the counter can see you and hear you just fine. Talk about impersonal. But about that burger.... Mine was a bacon cheeseburger. I built my own with tomato, lettuce, onion, mayo, ketchup, mustard. It wasn't bad and was a bit thicker than what Wendy's serves. My only complaint was that the bun was too thin. I would eat it again, though. They made it pretty quickly too. As for GetGo itself, they have a little bit of everything, even unexpected things like soft pretzels and...sushi? Yeah. It's not always there, but they have it wrapped in cellophane when they do have it. Hey, this isn't Nakama. I also love their soft, rich chocolate chip cookies and their chocolate and red velvet gobs. They don't always have the gobs. I become perturbed if they don't have them when I go. They, along with the cookies, are bakery quality. Like large deep fried Oreos without batter, scalding hot oil, and a state fair/Regatta/Arts Festival setting they are. Uh-Oh. We have a pastry war brewing between Deli, Crazy Mocha, GetGO, and Dozen. Perpetual war for perpetual...sweets? I kid. For what it is, the L-Ville GetGo is pretty good. The situation here has gone from bad to dismal. It can always get worse. (Case in point, for those familiar, it hasn't hit South Side Get Go's low standards just yet. It's not as bad at THAT Get Go. Close, not quite there. ) I'm just going to make this review as simple as possible. Working grab and go cooler - Nope, it's been broken for over 4-5 months at least. No fixing it or replacement in sight. Staffed correctly- Nope. Don't count on getting a made to order item. Often the counter to order food is not staffed. So it's closed. At times one person is working the entire store. That seems completely unacceptable. Guards- Yes. Yet one has wonder, Are guards there for the staff or customers? Working Pumps- Not exactly. Every single pump has a broken receipt machine. One has to go inside to get receipts. So w/ staffing issues, it adds to the checkout line. Get Go Specials, Promotions etc stocked- Nope, rarely, or never. Don't expect for the items the app entices you to come and get to be there. They're not. RedBox- Broken each time I've tried to use it. Well, not every time. I got a dvd once. Couldn't return it of course. Overall this location is just shocking. Well, not shocking sinceI regularly use the South Side but rather, dismal in a cramped corners kind of way. I feel extremely uncomfortable entering the store since it's understaffed. This store needs to be staffed correctly. Machines must be fixed. The good thing about the broken machines is that it keeps an ongoing line at checkout. It is reassuring that the store is always backed up with customers trying to check out. That way, as a female customer you won't ever find yourself alone with anyone working there who is an offender. Uggghhh. The location's convenient, but it's a pretty nasty urban gas station. There's always trash in the lot, and it's a terrible layout. (Half the lot isn't used at all, and there's frequently congestion at the pumps and/or all the parking spaces are taken. Giant Eagle flushes money down the toilet because they won't put money into a major renovation of this place.) The clerks are extremely friendly 50% of the time and really mean and grumpy 50% of the time. I'd much rather have polite and efficient, but not necessarily friendly, 100% of the time. This is a Get Go-wide problem: these guys have the SLOWEST GASOLINE PUMPS in the world. Seriously. It takes me at least twice as long to get gas at Get Go than it does at other gas stations. The computer takes forever to process inputs (card swipes, credit/debit?, car wash?, etc.), and they pump gas about 2/3 as fast as other stations. This partly explains the lines at Get Go stations. I've even taken to hitting a less-convenient but similarly priced BP near work just because it's much easier to get in and out. (Because let's be honest: getting gas is not a "fun" thing to do. Unless you're at a Wawa or a QT. Why won't Wawa cross the mountains and come to Pittsburgh?) read more

They had the nerve to charge me 0.50 for an extra packet of dressing when I've literally been to every other getgo in Pittsburgh and they have the packets out for you to take as many as you want! I stopped into the GetGo location in Lawrenceville before work today to order something from the freshly made menu. I ordered a simple Italian hoagie on white bread. After being disappointed about the lack of bread choices it took the two females a hair over 15 minutes to get my sandwich into my hands. 15 minutes for a simple 7 inch sub? Come on. Give me a break. The two looked utterly confused in everything that they were doing back there. I got back to my office and found the bread to be absolutely disgusting. It was very hard and had almost zero freshness to it. I somehow managed to get a few bites down and have felt sick all day since I ate some of the sandwich. This location is terrible. I generally avoid this location as much as possible because of the lack of parking and lack of decent customer service. I should've went with my gut feeling and not have ordered from this location. Rude, ignorant, and demeaning employees in the store. The ginger guy Jason is the worst of them all. He talks down to women especially my wife after she placed an order the other day. I finally had to jump in and say something to him. He said this is my store and to get out. He made a scene in front of others. Will never go back there. This location only has four pumps and there is often a line. Of the 4-5 times I've come here for gas I've had to wait more than 5 minutes to gas up at least 3 of the times. The prices tend to be average for the area. The facilities are mediocre in terms of cleanliness and amenities. read more
