This has been the worst experience I've ever had…read more Yesterday I went to get an underarm wax, and the person who did it was not professional at all she didn't even know what she was doing. She burned my underarms, and now I have to use an antibiotic to relieve the pain and burning. This had never happened to me before. When I tried to tell her that something was wrong and bothering me, her response was, "It'll go away in 5 minutes." I could clearly see my skin was getting irritated. She didn't even use baby powder, which is usually applied before waxing, and I believe the wax temperature was way too hot, which caused the burns. Terrible service, I will never go back. I'm writing this review so that people can be careful about where they go to get a wax.

I heard about her on Citysearch and I wanted to put her up here as well. Firstly, Daphne's salon is in the front half of her apartment (therefore no walks-ins...appt only). It felt strange knocking on an apartment door, but the salon section of her house is so professional and beautiful--much larger and nicer than other waxing salons I've been to. Secondly, Daphne is very sweet and down to earth. She is French and has a lovely accent. She makes a lot of her own products (she went to school for biochemistry), and swears by the Tahitian line of products she carries as well. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, I just got the best bikini wax from her! The french wax she uses makes the process MUCH less painful. I was shocked by how little it hurt (and I hadn't been in quite a while!) She is meticulous and quite a perfectionist, so you won't leave with even one stray hair. My skin has NO pain or redness. This really is a miracle wax! I'm shocked more people don't use it. Also, at other salons, they apply the wax, press on the paper, wait for it...then RIP! Here, Daphne applies the wax to several sections at one time. By the time she's finished applying the 4th row, she goes back to the beginning and rips them all off one after another (there is no paper involved--she rips the wax itself off). This technique gives you a lot of down time from the pain so you're not always clenched and upset.

We showed her a very simple design of flowers (please see the photos of my niece's hands, she could've done that herself and she's six). She then "gave us a discount" by only charging us $30 for both hands. I didn't want to make a scene because I didn't want to make my niece cry, so we paid it. Never again. Beware of this scam. I suggest moving forward you indicate on your website that you are by appointment only, and perhaps let your coworkers know that as well so they can answer questions appropriately and not wait people's time. Be sure to include the days of the week too, since we came today which is actually a Monday and not Sunday. However Bianca, was so nice--she was able to accommodate us for another date (which we were fine with) at no charge. She calmed me down a lot being that I'm 9 months pregnant. They provided us robes/slippers and our own little cubby with a lock and key. We waited maybe 5 more mins after we got dressed --then we got taken upstairs. Very calming inside for sure. Andrew was superb! The best. Abs book with him. He was great. For a prenatal massage I felt amazing afterwards. He informed me that there will be times he's going to ask about guidance specifically the hips since that's where I'm bothered the most being that pregnant people can really only sleep on their sides. Just an amazing massage! Get the lavender scent--it's soooo good. My husband had Holly and she was super nice. He said he loved his first massage ever. She was great. She asked him any pain/problem areas. Glad to say my husband is into spas now lol.
