She arrived early and after setting up all the tools and makeup a girl could dream of, she and her assistant got to work on my mom and bridesmaids. Daisy is very skilled at making everyone of all ages and ethnicities look their best and feel comfortable, including my 14 year old niece, 45 year old sister in law, 65 year old mom and all of the 20- and 30-something bridesmaids. She and her assistant worked quickly but it did not feel rushed and everyone was thrilled with their makeup. She left plenty of time to make me the center of attention and recreated the exact look that I loved during our makeup trial. Daisy then came with us to the gardens and was on site with us until the ceremony, touching us up during pictures. The makeup she chose lasted all day so we probably could have gone without the touch ups, but I wanted the comfort of having her there just in case anyone broke down crying and needed a do-over. She was so attentive, helpful and fun, it felt like having another friend there who was part of my special day. I also had a HUGE zit on my wedding day--every bride's worst nightmare--and Daisy made it COMPLETELY disappear, it was crazy. I would like to add that I did makeup trials with four other makeup artists leading up to my wedding and Daisy's technique was the most impressive to me. She listened to what I wanted, provided her expert opinion on what she thought would work with my skin tone, and was very patient with me. I loved that she layered on my look and would pause after every layer to ask how I liked the look so that I had control over how much makeup was put on. She was able to achieve the "natural, smokey eyed, contoured" look that I asked for with products that felt very light on my skin but provided the coverage I needed to cover past acne marks. She took detailed notes about the colors and techniques she used so that she could replicate it on my wedding day and I'm pretty sure she studied the notes the night before our wedding because she remembered everything perfectly. I also appreciated how communicative Daisy was during the year leading up to our wedding. She was very responsive to emails and did not mind at all when I would email her with random thoughts or pictures that I found inspiring. It felt like she was as excited about my wedding as I was, which made me even more excited! I would highly recommend Daisy for your wedding if she is available in between fashion shows!

Beware of hidden fees and wasted time…read more I booked a silk press and re-shape trim with Aaliyah at 5:00 o'clock. The appointment confirmation listed the time frame as 5:00-5:45 pm, but I decided to allot more than twice that amount of time to ensure that I would make it to my work event at 7:00 that evening. Unfortunately, the start time and timeframe given by the salon turned out to be meaningless. Although I arrived on time, after an initial check in, no one spoke to me for another 45 MINUTES. When I was finally able to speak with Aaliyah's assistant, I asked how long the process would take because I now needed to leave in about an hour. I was then told *for the first time* that all new clients who wanted a silk press needed to receive two preliminary treatments, which each had their own added cost and added 20-30 minute timeframes. As a result, the appointment would take several hours (and cost significantly more). The assistant claimed this information was on the website (more on that later). Needless to say, I could not get my hair done under those circumstances. Not only had the salon wasted my time but it had also left me scrambling to make my hair presentable for the plans I had that evening. Aaliyah may do great hair, I don't know. But this is no way to do business. People with appointments should not be waiting 45 minutes to be seen. And if you are requiring new clients to receive certain treatments in addition to what they have actually requested, state those requirements, timeframes, and costs openly and clearly. Don't bury vague language under a tab people may never even click on (see photos). This way your clients will know what they're signing up for and can plan accordingly.

Made an appointment for 9:30 and when I arrived, there was one young woman who introduced herself as Aaliyah, owner, stylist and style educator. We did a 15 minute consultation as promised and then ran through which treatments I would be receiving today. She's a young entrepreneur who sells her own homemade products and uses them on you as well. She did an anti breakage treatment, deep conditioning, trim and silk press. We hit it off and it felt nice to be privately attended to. Private meaning, this is an appointment based salon with one to one services. The salon in itself is beautiful. Black, gold and white. Very sparkly because, you know, girls lol. I loved it. I was very happy with my results because being mixed, my hair isn't easy to deal with. Never ran into a beautician who didn't mumble WTF at least once during my visit. I left very satisfied with moisturized hair cut into beautiful layers. My second appointment is already booked and I am grateful Yelp didn't steer me wrong. I've been looking for someone who not only cares about the style, but the health of my hair as well. I'm happy to be working with Mrs. Aaliyah. Hey, a private salon doesn't hurt either. An introvert win win!!

But Charlotte was calm, cool, collected, and went above and beyond. She was incredible and I was obsessed with the way my makeup came out! Charlotte was easy to work with, adaptable to the crazy day, kind, generous with her time, patient (I can be a bit of a diva and pretty picky). I loved working with Charlotte so much that I hired her years later to do my wedding (Aug 2023)--once again, Charlotte was superwoman on the most important day of my life. My make up was perfect. Plus, she did my hair (curly haired girl with untamable hair) and it looked flawless. Charlotte's energy was exactly what I needed (grounding, pleasant, kind) and she glammed me up for the big day and stayed throughout the night to provide touch ups when needed. Fast forward to this past weekend, I had my appt with Erica for my hair and makeup and I seriously could not be happier with the final product. I got SO many compliments all night. I specifically booked a Botox treatment with Zoila, the owner of the salon, since her name was listed among other stylists in the booking app. However, when I arrived, although she greeted me and explained the different treatments, she did not actually perform the service. Instead, someone else with less experience handled it, and I could tell because they kept asking Zoila questions during the process. For the price of $447, I expected the service to be done by the professional I booked with, especially the salon owner. The final disappointment came with the haircut -- I requested a butterfly cut, which Zoila herself did, and unfortunately the results speak for themselves (see attached photos for transparency). Overall, I left feeling let down and frustrated. When you pay a premium price, you should receive the experience and expertise you booked for.
