I've been craving a good crab meal for a while but with all of the new spots popping up in Nashville I wasn't sure where to go. One of my gal pals recommended Get your Grub on and also gave me fair warning I would be going to a garage! The owner Mr. Green welcomed me with a handshake, a personal touch I appreciated. I went with the crab leg platter which included corn, broccoli, potatoes, sausage, & shrimp. He made it fresh so allow about 20 minutes if you don't order ahead. He has a huge TV and satellite radio to entertain you while you wait. When he brought out the final product I just had to stare at it fora bit. A. Work. Of. Art. Once I got past the beauty I dove in. Instead of the normal butter sauce you find on these meals he has a special grub sauce that has a spicy kick that I love. No oily mess, straight flavor! The sauce on this one is amazing. It's so flavorful, thick and creamy. The chicken is also moist and cooked perfectly. I love a fettuccine Alfredo with lots of veggies, and this one had some spinach sprinkled in. It's big enough to split between two people, and the leftovers were just as delicious. I do not eat seafood, but my SO got the Seafood Trio. I tried the rice, and it was covered in a really yummy sauce (maybe a Cajun sauce? Not sure). The food was packed with flavor. The silverware packet also included a mint or lollipop, which I thought was a nice, cute touch. The driveway is uneven and is marked with the orange cones. It's also a pretty small lot, and there is no signage visible from the road. Overall, I definitely recommend trying this local eatery. I came on into the garage and felt right at home. The owner, Darrell, treats you like family and explains the menu. I ordered the crab legs which came with broccoli, corn, potatoes, shrimp and sausage. You get to choose your type of sausage so major plus. I chose turkey. The meal was outstanding. The seafood was freshly prepared at that moment and the crab legs slide right out of their shells. The level of seasoning is on point and the grub sauce puts it over the top. My shrimp were big and plump. The broccoli was a first for me in a seafood boil dish but I loved the addition. The potatoes were sliced thin enough to soak up the heavenly juices.
