A few months back my sister passed away, and I am responsible for taking care of anything and everything having to do with her estate. Anyone who has gone through this process knows the "taking care of" is a daunting task. Or more accurately: consists of around 12 million daunting tasks. Well, someone strongly recommended Tina of Get Organized Now. So I called her up, chatted with her, and hired her. Having her help me get my sister's house "cleaned out" and organized before putting it on the market was the best thing I've done so far in the whole process. If I had not hired Tina, I know I'd still be sitting in my sister's house trying to figure out what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. Tina assisted me...ummm, that is not accurate. Actually, I assisted Tina. She managed and motivated me. She didn't use an electric cattle prod to do so; it was her wisdom, recommendations, enthusiasm, and energy that kept me on track most of the time. I don't feel I need to list all of the things Tina did for me--we all have an idea what professional organizers do. And whatever we imagine they might do, they can do a lot more. What I'd like to say about Tina is this: She will go to your home, listen carefully to what you'd like to get accomplished, and help you figure out what to do if you have no idea how to start or where to start. You will be the boss, but Tina will be there to make time-proven suggestions based on her experience. She will help you make decisions, but she won't force you to do something you're dead set against doing. Also, Tina will--more or less--focus on finishing one room at a time. I can't tell you how liberating it was to finish one room, close the door, and know that I didn't have to go in there again. I guess I'm rambling a bit here, so I'll close by saying, "Hire Tina. She knows what she's doing. She is there to help you. She's a hard worker, enthusiastic, friendly, and considerate. Her hourly fee is very fair, and after she finishes, you'll thank yourself for not having relied solely on yourself to organize the house." read more
