Captain Michael Dawson is a terrific guide for Inshore fishing in the Clearwater to New Port Richey…read morearea. I met Michael at a local tackle shop where he provided excellent advice on rod and reel selection and tackle selection for Inshore fishing in the Tarpon Springs St Joseph Sound area. I scheduled a charter with him. If you just want him to put you on fish, he can do that as well as any guide in the area. But if want to "learn" techniques, how to read the water, how to position your boat for effective results he's a great teacher. I scheduled some time to go early and catch live bait. He taught me where & how to find baitfish, and then how to throw a cast-net. Stop by Tarpon Fishing Outfitters in Holiday FL and talk to him about local fishing trends and reports. Then follow up by scheduling a half day or full day with him. Whether you are a local and want want to learn how to be better angler, or a visitor and want to experience the Gulf waters, Captain Micheal can put you on a variety of species.

Walks up to my gun that I brought to make sure it would be the right fit. Grabs my gun and says it's dirty ( it's not that dirty, I just don't baby my rifles). And then asks if it even runs. Then proceeds to say how chunky it is. ( I use it for platform shooting, don't really care how heavy it is). I tell him I have no problem holding it lol. Then drops my rifle back down and breaks my optic cover. Then looks at it, asks if he did that then didn't say anything. They tried to charge me $300 over msrp for the suppressor. I asked if they'd match suppressor co online for the hukwrk flow ti which retails at $1299. Tried to charge me just under $1600. Asked if they'd match the price and Said no. So I went to reload and bought one for msrp . I'd stay away, weird egos from people who are 90 lbs over weight and don't have a crazy amount of fire arms knowledge. I'm no fire arms "expert but I did 6 years as a precision marksman on helicopters in the coast guard and this guy tried to treat me like a 11 year old brain dead idiot.

I am not one to post reviews, good or bad. This is the first one I have ever posted but my…read moreexperience was one I must share. I took two rifles in requesting only to have them sited in. I was given a price of $65 each which I thought was excessive but after being told how inferior my 306 rifle was, I still agreed to have the work done. I was told it would be about 2 weeks or so. I was in no hurry so that was agreeable with me. Weeks past and after about 5 weeks I called and was told they were going to "get to them" that week. Another 23 weeks past and I received a call saying there was a problem with the magazine on the 306 but they had sited in the 22.I asked about picking them up to be told it would be the following week that he was leaving for an out-of-town trip. I went in the following week to be told he did not have the rifles, and they were at another location. I asked where they were and was going to go there and pick them up. I was told I could not pick them up there and that he would call me when he had them, expecting them by Friday of that week. I went in to pick them up expecting to pay $65 for sitting the 22 rifle only to be told that they have sited the 306 in even there was still magazine issues and that I owed $200.00. Questioning the charge, I was told there was other work done increasing the bill. No other work was authorized. After all this I paid the $200 to get my rifles away from this guy only to realize, after I left, he had not returned the ammunition. One full box for each rifle. I was given a box of 22 rounds, him complaining they were not mine but to take them and was told he didn't have the others and would let me know when he had them. In summary, 2 weeks turned into more than 6 weeks, unauthorized charges were charged and I cursed and told not to ever come back. There is No Chance of me coming back anyway, even to get the 306 rounds. My suggestion is to just stay away from Deep River, they will drown you.
