I have ordered my kitchen cabinets from German Kitchen Center in Red Hook last summer. My design was quite unique and i have initially many concerns whether semi-custom kitchen cabinets like the ones available by German Kitchen Center would have beeen able to match to a satisfactory degree my design concepts the same way a fully custom solution would have done. I very much liked the quality of their products more particularly those designs from Leight which we ended up using for our kitchen. Their products are among the best in the market both top quality hardware and sophisticated finishes. Anna Pilipenko the Designer from German Kitchen Center, whom i work with, made it all possible. Her deep knowledge of the company's product and endless possibilities made me feel from the very beginning that what i have envisioned for my kitchen can actually be designed, constructed and installed. This was a tricky project and there were many and different entities involved since the kitchen was a part my apartment's complete renovation. Anna communicated perfectly my design ideas, and preferences, working very close with me and the production team to make sure that the final product will look nothing less than 100% the way my architect and I had imagined. There were of course, as in any project of this nature, the occasional "bumps on the road" especially during the installation but Anna stayed on top of the whole project at all times making sure that every little design detail can be given all the attention was needed by the installer. Excellent designs, follow-through and support. We had a terrific experience with German Kitchen Center and with Anna, our designer. Anna designed our new kitchen to look beautiful, feel bigger and be completely functionally efficient for the cook! In the planning process, she gave very helpful advice on the placement and sizes of appliances and cabinets and materials to use. We have more surface area to prepare meals than before, have a counter for seating and, amazingly, did not have to sacrifice cabinet space. Once the cabinets arrived, whenever we or our contractor had questions, Anna was available to answer them and consult with her team to the extent necessary. Yosi, who I believe is an installer, came to the apartment to deliver extra pieces we requested, and gave very helpful tips while he was there. He didn't just deliver and run out, but took the time to offer his advice, based on his experience with the products. We felt like there was always someone at GKC ready to help us through the often stressful process of a complete kitchen renovation. Also, the cabinets are high quality and look great. We receive compliments from all our visitors. An added plus is that the cabinets look and feel more expensive than they actually were. For more than 4 years I've been trying to get my kitchen redone. I've consulted with several companies including Home depot, Lowe's and others who quoted ridiculous prices with little to show for it. It wasn't until I was pulling into FairWay in RedHook that I saw the sign for "German Kitchen" so my daughter and I decided to check them out. From the moment we walked into the showroom, we loved what we saw. A representative immediately walked up and asked if we needed helped. The rest is history. We met with an amazing agent, who was very candid from the get-go. She knew what we were looking for once we explained that we wanted to maximize cabinet space. She had excellent customer service skills which made the experience a great success. She was very honesty, knowledgable, patient and made good recommendations and advice which helped to make this a fun and cost effective project. She was always available whenever we needed her, and her colleagues were also very helpful. I highly recommend German Kitchen if you are looking to get your kitchen renovated. They have affordable and unique ideas that you will love. Now, friends and family come to my home and can't help but comment how great my kitchen looks. Never would I recommend this place! It is rare to see a place that cares so little about their customers' satisfaction for such an expensive project. Our designer/ project leader let us down with lack of detail orientation and simply lack of a desire to ensure our kitchen project went as well as possible. We had to constantly follow up with her and finally gave up relying on her. Do not go with their recommendation on contractors. They were a disaster. We are now paying to re-do areas where they made sloppy mistakes. Thankful that we purchased our own Bosch appliances - so did not have some of the issues others have had. Really terrible experience. Update: the gift that keeps on giving! They never mounted our Miele microwave and we finally got around to doing it to find out that they never mounted it because it was never measured properly. The dishwasher was never anchored and the sides of the island poorly attached. The owners response to my comments is complete BS. If they cared at all about quality output they would inspect for it. No one ever contacted us to ensure we were happy with the result. But who am I kidding?? That is not even nearly the realm in which they operate. Their operating model is one of careless incompetence. NEVER USE GERMAN KITCHEN CENTER. Awful!!!! read more

I highly recommend the "German Kitchen Center" in Red Hook , Brooklyn, NY. As a family of six people, we needed a very functional kitchen with a lot of storage and had to stay within a strict budget. We found exactly what we were looking for at the German Kitchen Center. We just loved the design and the amazing variety of options they gave us to choose from. Through the design process we were able to completely transform our old kitchen and achieve a beautiful custom kitchen that combined the finish, the interior upgrades and the overall function we dreamt of in pretty much every aspect. We bought an amazing "Nobilia" kitchen, for a very reasonable price, high quality, and beautiful. The overall customer service was amazing, the staff was very helpful by understanding our needs and designing the kitchen we were looking for. Our guests are constantly complimenting our kitchen, which has now become the heart of our home. When I redid my kitchen four years ago I looked at all the kirchen design firms in New York City. I am an architect, working for thirty five years for one if the top design firms in the city. My design standards were impossibly high. Leicht cabinets met all my design criteria. The hardware, materialls, and technology of their cabinets is state of the art. I was dreading the upheaval of a new kitchen but working with Polina was a pleasure from start to finish. My new kitchen continues to be a daily source ofdelight. It looks beautiful, functions well and almost cleans itself. Leicht has also been attentive and responsive to the few minor issues that have come up since completion. After speaking with many kitchen designers around the city, I found Javier to be a great listener. Throughout the process, he always aimed to please. Javier worked within our budget, offering options and suggestions for every decision. The product Javier represents is extraordinary in function and beauty (Nobilia/Leicht). Javier suggested appliances, floor tiles, and counter tops to compliment the cabinetry. He recommended an amazing contractor (Paul Shabaj). He then seamlessly coordinated all if it! We bought our Leicht kitchen cabinets from the business now called German Kitchens nearly seven years ago. The soft close mechanism on the cabinet doors needed to be adjusted/ fixed. We reached out to the company by email, unsure whether we'd hear back. And to our delight, we promptly did, both from the owner and the customer services department. Sure enough, Richard from customer services was at our place within a couple of days to fix the problem. It appears we might need new hinges. They have kindly offered to give us those even though they say the warranty might have expired. We are impressed with their responsiveness and the follow up. They deserve five stars just for that! read more

We've just finished our kitchen renovation. We purchased Nobilia cabinets from German Kitchen showroom in Red Hook, Brooklyn NY. The installation was done by the same company. Overall it was a great experience. Everyone from designer to project manager Gabriel Levy and installation engineers were professional, polite and incredibly accommodating. I first met Yoram Zioni 2 years ago when remodeling my kitchen. Yoram was extremely helpful and offered great suggestions to achieve the desired look. He kept my contractor and I up to date with specifications and deliveries and was always available to answer questions. The process is lengthy and goes through different layers of technical teams. From Marwa Bsat's careful design, management, and follow-ups to the construction team's efficient completion it was a complete success. And, GKC finished earlier than originally thought. I have only had 1 experience with German Kitchen Center so far. They were knowledgable, helpful and very responsive to my emails. The staff were able to locate in Europe and have shipped to me. This was an item that had proven hard for me to find. They did this quickly and for a very reasonable price.
