I was just going to change the spark plug wires in my Crossfire, but, he said, you should change the plugs too ... it was pricey, mostly because of the parts ... nothing is cheap for a Crossfire ... but then, he showed me the old plugs... and my God, they were rusted and shot to hell ... by the grace of God, I just changed them in time ... and they only charged me a couple hours labour, to change 12 plugs and wires ... these guys are good, they are, and a lot of that is because of Mr. Knibbe, who is the driving force for good, reliable service, at a fair price ... read more

Not overly impressed. They serviced our car twice. The work they performed was just OK, and since our second visit, I've found out some of the information they provided regarding the vehicle was incorrect. Oh, and a couple simple things were incorrectly diagnosed during the in-depth servicing. One of which was something I figured out on my own moments after leaving their establishment, and forking out thousands of $$. Upon leaving, they told me I would have to bring the vehicle back at a later date, and further repairs would be required to address what now turns out to be a non-issue. Beware! Besides, a whole lot of head scratching regarding a very common vehicle. So common in fact, you'd think they would have had this model of car in for servicing a multitude of times. Amateurs. Also, they really need to work on their front-line people skills. In particular the heavy-set woman up front. She needs to realize that her customers are not technicians, and may not be familiar with some of the terminology, procedures, etc. This should go without saying, but sometimes when myself or my significant other would pose a question, she'd glare at us sideways, responding in a rude condescending manner. Other times when she was unable to provide an answer, rather than say "Oh, I don't know, let me ask someone", she would become quite standoffish and defensive. In my opinion she's in the wrong business altogether. This woman has zero people skills. German Car Specialist should send her for a few customer relations or Dale Carnegie courses. If that doesn't work, then get rid of her altogether, as I'm sure we're not the only customers that have left there feeling humiliated. She definitely hinders their reputation. As a result of the aforementioned, we've since found a much more friendly. reliable, and knowledgeable repair company. read more

Better than going to a dealership by far! The location is easy to get to, slow down through the area because its narrow. Extremely friendly staff, comfortable waiting area, and the coffee is free. They also have wireless internet, full cable TV, and loads of magazines to pass the time. The mechanics/ technicians take lunch from 12-1p do not bother going early they will not start early for you :) Your car smells wonderful, and somehow is a bit cleaner than when you go there. Be VERY careful when getting extra work done here; especially if you are female. My wife was charged a standard 30 minute labour charge of $64 to replace an interior light bulb - something that literally takes 2-3 minutes. This type of rip-off just leaves a very bad taste in the mouth; after this neither of the two vehicles we bring here (one occasionally; the other regularly) will see the inside of Two Square again. read more

I have been looking for a good mechanic ever since my last mechanic decided to retire. I purchased a Vovlo XC90 and wanted a mechanic who understood european cars. After going through many mechanics and yes even the dealership, I have been taking my car to two Square Auto for about 4 years now and wish I found them sooner. My over all experience has been absolutly fantastic, everyone who works here wants to ensure that the experience you have is as painless as possible. Wonder no more, its companies like German Car Specialists, Two Square Auto Repair who tagged my car on the weekend outside Superstore. That should tell you something about a repair shop that has been around for 20 years and still needs to resort to illegal and pathetic advertising methods. But if that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about their poor service, know this, My girlfriends car was repaired there about 5 years ago and such was that two days after being repaired, it left her stranded 3 hrs. outside Calgary because of their botched repair. Only a fool would take their car for repairs to these Muppets. read more

Very nice front desk service but that's where it goes downhill, well more like a sheer cliff than downhill. To fix a misfire they wanted to replace the spark plugs, coils and all 6 fuel injectors to the tune of $5000.00. I took it somewhere else and they fixed the issue for $30.00 + .5hr labour. Steer clear of this shop. They repair vehicles by replacing everything possible and passing their incompetence on to you in the form of a huge bill. read more

I bought a used BMW 323ci back in 2007 and moved away from Calgary in 2008. I had brought my car in to fix a few problems with the car and my experience was stellar. I am now selling the car (2013), and every issue they resolved has never resurfaced. They aren't cheap, but the work was done on time and the quotation was accurate. Further, I have not yet found another garage that returned my car with a clean steering wheel, shifter, no fingerprints on the upholstery, and no panels left loose or out of place. I can't comment on the last 5 years, but they did raise my expectations of auto repair shops to a level that hasn't been met since. read more

I finally called here and they knew instantly what was wrong and had the part waiting and ready to go. I was recently experiencing a bothersome issue with my motor, and was driving by Two Square, so I decided to drop by and have them look at my car. After a few minutes, a Tech came out and noticed my pulley wobbling and said to stop driving before it snaps off and causes more serious $$$ issues. While the tech was looking he noticed a coolant leak, which was a separate issue. Now, I appreciate them taking the time on Friday to even come out and look at the car...read on. So, of course I was not wanting to destroy my $100000 car so I left the car with them had them do the work on the pulley. While we were filling out the work order, I also raised concerns on other issues if they could look into it for me: 1) I asked if I needed wheel bearings replacement? I had a rubbing vibration coming from the front wheels and felt it was bearings but I left that in their hands to diagnose. 2) Engine leaking oil around the valve covers. Can they pin point it and see how much it would cost to fix These extra concerns were going to be $124 for the diagnostic or inspection as they called it. Well, I got my car back. They fixed the pulley, $1000. All in all, with diagnostic, $1157 was the bill. Here is their findings from diagnostic... They noted that the passenger front tire was feathering, and it required a wheel alignment. That would fix the issue. They never quoted me on an alignment, but I'm guessing it would be around $200. They noted that the engine is running strong and no issues found otherwise. They recommended an engine conditioning/cleaning and then they could proceed with a dye test to see where its leaking, quoted me $400 just to start this diagnostic. Finally, the coolant leak required a new hose that runs from the water pump to the supercharger and back. It needed replacement ASAP and that would run another $400 to install... Now here is my beef... I paid $124 for an inspection for the above. I did not authorize any of that work, as I wanted to go and get a second opinion. I headed over to a shop that I found on Kijiji...and they found the following: 1) Wheel noise: Fully worn out left and right lower ball joints. Fully worn right side upper ball joint. Both wheel bearings needed repacking. The adviser brought me out to the car and showed me visually and then showed me the sound of a worn out ball joint, etc. Did you know that if you have play in the ball joints, your tires will get premature wear...??? 2) Engine Valve Covers need new seals. CAR IS BOOKED IN 2 WEEKS TO REPLACE 3) COOLANT LEAK WAS A DAMN CLAMP BROKEN AND NOT A FRIKING HOSE THAT NEEDED REPLACEMENT. COST 1 HR LABOUR AND PART $80 They did a full pressure test NOT once but TWICE to confirm. ALL FIXED. Now, I have to say, this competitor also did a full computer diagnostic and pulled me aside and showed me all the fault codes and what each code meant. ALL FOR $40 (1/2hr rate) And he found an issue with my transmission, which he caught so early, that if left alone, it would have destroyed my transmission. I paid pennies for the above work and diagnostic compared to what Two Square charges. How did I get all the above diagnostic done by the competitor in a couple of hours, when Two Square had my car from Fri-Wed and I didn't get a pinch of info compared to what I got from the competitor??? There is no way you could not see the leak and notice it was the clamp OR pull on the wheels and hear for tell tale signs that the ball joints and wheel bearings were kaput. Unbelievable. Two Square can obviously learn from this. The owner seemed very pompous too. After asking the same question to the advisor a couple of times, and not getting an answer, he came by and I asked him the following, 'What is the average cost to replace blah blah blah' and he quickly said arrogantly, 'First off, there is nothing average about your car...' MY BLOOD BOILED WHEN I HEARD THAT... Am I the first E55 AMG owner to come into your shop and ask how much something would cost to replace?? Is it not my right to ask or should I just bend over...?? Spare the lecture. You should appreciate the fact that you have paying customers in your shop, requiring your expertise/service. Anyways, I work hard for my money and have the privilege to enjoy some high end toys. Think what you want of my review, but this is what I felt dealing with this company. I am not going back and have let my circle of friends know of my experience with Two Square. Msg me if you want the 411 on the shop that is now taking care of my baby. read more

After spending more than $2000 to resolve an issue with my BMW I still had the same problem. They were unable to diagnose it and just kept doing work that was not required. If they'd absorbed some of the cost for doing un-needed work I might recommend them, however when the owner says "the work was done and I need to be paid for it" I cannot. This is really no different than deliberately doing extra work and charging for it. I'd suggest going elsewhere. As an aside... Sheni's Auto Trend found and repaired the issue right away. read more

Beware of this place. Went here multiple times and all seemed well, until I had to deal with damage caused by one of their mechanics to my car. They made me pay for the oil change before mentioning to me that they had damaged my front-end. The owner/manager proceeded to call my car "$hitty" to my face after I asked to speak with him. I was speechless. They refused to replace my brand-new spoiler, and instead offered to plastic weld it. Well, well, well. Two Square Auto which sounds like a corner store is just that. Dodgy and overpriced. My experience was so bad it is burnt in to my memory even 10 years later. I called Dennis in 2003 about a 944 that I wanted him to take a look at. He was recommended by a friend who also will never go there again. On the phone Dennis told me don't bother bringing the 944 in cause I have one for you. It just needs a new engine! Obvious mistake to buy a car from the guy who will be fixing it. haha. In order to cover my butt I created a contract with Dennis to ensure the rebuilt engine had warranty. I paid up front and it took well over a month before I got the car in mid September which is not ideal for a summer car. Of course Dennis did not guaranty things outside of the engine and sure enough I had to do another $2000 of work once I got the car back. I drove the car for 1 week in 2003, boo Dennis. Poor workmanship, mickey mouse parts, non matching bolts and always receiving the car back filthy did not encourage my repeat business. I expected a nice condition 944 and received a middle of the road, slightly beat up car. In the end I found another mechanic and vowed to stay away from Dennis and Two Square Auto and you should too! I have a BMW X5 and have taken my vehicle to this shop several times. I was incredibly happy with the customer service I received from Leanne and the mechanics that called me with the oh so great news about required repairs and cost. Even with a large expected bill I was very happy all round with the work and overall experience. I recently called to request an invoice from over a year ago and Leanne was awesome to deal with and emailed right over to me. I was referred to this shop and I will be continuing to refer it as well! read more

Terrible experience at this "repair" shop. Went to get my Benz speedometer calibrated. The fools couldn't figure out how to get their machine to work. They worked on it for 2 hours but still couldn't get it fixed. On top of that they asked me to pay for the job that they didn't even do. Said that they tried and that I still have to pay. UNREAL! I took my car to another import car shop and they fixed the issue in 15 mins. These guys are complete amateurs. Save yourself time and money and take your business elsewhere! read more

They are too expensive for their skill level, and they seem to extend the time to work on your car. Something that would take an hour takes two and so on. They also billed out an apprentice at their full shop rate. That's a bit dirty. In the end they had billed me several hundred dollars and couldn't even pinpoint the cause of two of my problems. Go elsewhere, these guys are not good. read more
