I always get treated by Dr. Loy who is the kindest doctor I have ever met. I have always had extreme dental anxiety due to previous experiences and was terrified of getting the much needed work done on my teeth. Dr. Loy and her team extracted my wisdom teeth using conscious sedation and it was so quick and easy, and I was very comfortable and at ease. I have also had multiple cavities filled so far and every time I go I leave feeling more confident that I can let go of my prior dental fears. I was switching from a previous dentist so I had a lot of questions especially one important…read morequestion - insurance coverage. So I call to make an appointment and I'm told new patients have to come in for two appointments almost back to back. Ok a little different but whatever. I also make sure to ask that they except my insurance. She says yes they do so wonderful I am a happy customer. The first visit is to be a very thorough visit with all kinds of photos and things that I have never done before. The second visit would be for the cleaning. Well the receptionist called me a few days before my visit and asked if I could stay for the cleaning. I was a bit confused as this was to happen on the 2nd visit but it wasn't a problem and I told her I could stay. I asked once again if they had checked with my insurance company and she said yes everything was good. So on the day of my appointment, I check in and then the office manager calls me back to her office. Weird. She lets me know that they are Out-of-Network and she is not sure how much will be covered by my insurance and how much I will owe. So I was not happy and it did not give me a good first impression or visit. I will say the hygienist who cleaned my teeth and apologized profusely was very nice and so was the dentist. I think the front office needs to be upfront and do a better job. Maybe this is their way of getting people in there and getting money. The jury is still out if I will go back. It will depend on when I receive my bill and see how much I owe.
