The service here is awful. Here is my unbelievable true story: 1/bought expensive Samsung small apartment washer and drier. Gerhard's delivered and installed. 2/ washer did not work correctly. 3/ Gerhard came out THREE times and never fixed it. 4/warranty expired as they strung out the three visits (yes, I should have been more proactive in insisting they return). 5/I got an independent service person to come who fixed it lickety split: the cold and hot input lines were reversed! I was very happy with the Salesperson Adam Geiger. His knowledge and helpfulness were extraordinary. I went and priced and multiple places. Some pricing was more or of equal, but it was because of Adam we came back to Gerhards and purchased directly from them. This is my first time purchasing from Gerhards. We look forward to our delivery, but what a great buying experience. He was patient and informative, understood our needs. Was able to take a look at what we had and provide us with the correct size for what we needed. I recently purchased a range and an over-the-range microwave at Gerhard's in Doylestown. The selection was amazing. The salesman was knowledgeable and pressure free. He shared information and answered questions so that I could make an informed decision. I was offered delivery and installation of both appliances as soon as 2 days later. The installation was great. I try to buy local rather than buying from a big box store, and we've bought several appliances from Gerhard's over the last 25 years, but this is the last time we're shopping at Gerhard's. We were looking for a new washing machine. Stopped by and looked at their offerings and discussed pros and cons of each. Went home to do a little more research and narrowed it down to a couple models. Went back a few days later to look closer and spoke with a different salesperson. That person did not know any details about washing machines. Gave us quotes on two machines. We made a decision later that night and tried contacting the salesperson to order, no response. Left another message and email the next day, no response. Tried contacting the original person we were dealing with, no response. Ordered unit from a big box store. We had a similar experience after ordering a refrigerator a year ago from Gerhard's. We knew it would take several months to come in. When we started calling and emailing for a status, we never received a response. We had to go to the store and only then could someone tell us the status. read more

My wife and I are new to the area and recently purchased a cloths washer and dryer plus dishwasher from Gerhards Appliance. The upfront experience was positive (courteous and knowledgeable sales person and attractive showroom), but the delivery and installation were very disappointing. Grass and dirt were tracked into our new home despite our specific request that not happen; we were charged an extra $95 for a common part needed for dishwasher installation (had to be paid with cash or check before installation - - estimated value $5 at most); items removed from under the sink were not put back; and most troubling, the cloths dryer could not be positioned near a wall and aligned with the washer because the installers only brought a rigid vent hose. We tired in our efforts to have Gerhards Appliance return to correct the latter problem, and had a handyman install a flexible vent hose which resolved the issue. I want to leave a message to the supervisor about my refund. An amount of about 54$ was not refunded. I called Gerhard's appliance to request a quote to replace my existing dishwasher. The sales person recommended a JennAir(R) Noire dish washer. Then, when the rep showed for delivery and install, he said that he could not install the JennAir dishwasher because he needed a height of 33 7/8. He refused to install and left taking the new dishwasher with him. I called the store and I was told that I have to install an ADA dishwasher. Gerhard's has 2 types and neither worked for me. I felt I was cheated by Gerhard, if height was critical for install, Gerhard's should have asked me to check on the height during my order. The exiting dishwasher I have is not ADA. The most frustrating is that after I checked the company catalog which is on Gerhard's website, the minimum height required was 33 1/2, which is the same for the ADA dishwasher and my existing dishwasher. I am asking the supervisor to review my request, I expect Gerhard's to refund me. read more

I've never been so disappointed in my life when it comes to purchasing a kitchen suite!!! -I got charged twice for a dishwasher install (rectified but should not have happened) -Installer did not plug in the fridge (customer service told me I did not pay $30 for fridge installation...to plug in a fridge? C'mon now!!! -The installers tested the oven and started a minor fire not realizing there was paper in the oven!!! (Really? Was this their first oven install?) -Salesman said I was to get a rebate of $400 from the manufacturer...when I applied I was told my appliances did not qualify for the rebate ..I'm still waiting for a call from customer service on this... I will never buy from them again or refer anyone to that company... We'll Mary L., business Owner... Awful... the sales people have no insight into what appliances are good or not, they never follow-up with you when you call, the prices are not competitive. I ordered a fridge, double ovens, microwave and cooktop and since, I have had to babysit them the entire process. Calling to find out when I can expect to receive each item and I have yet to receive a returned call. When I would reach a sales person, they provided false information, the ETA of when an item was suppose to be delivered would come and go... I would call again to ask for an updated ETA and the sales person would push out it out by 2 months....incredibly frustrated by the incompetence of this chain. If you can get an appliance do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. I have no idea how this place is still in business, especially the branch in Doylestown. And Gerhards- do not reply to this message and say contact XX so we can make this right.... train your sales ppl and make them knowledgeable and responsive... start there and then maybe things would go right. The customer service at the store was excellent. It's when the delivery happened that the problems began. Not only did they leave a hole in one wall but scraps down another. I paid $80 for them to apparently replace a shut off valve for my dryer that they never replaced. I now have to get estimates to fix my walls and prove that I bought a new valve and had someone replace it. Then on top of all that they never installed the gas dryer correctly and I had a gas leak. I then had to have someone install the dryer correctly and put in the replacement shut off valve. read more

These reviews couldn't be more spot on. I've never walked into a store before and felt more like they were doing me a favor. Once we finally got a sales person on the floor they said they "carry too many products and can't possibly know about them all". Amazing. In addition the other six people working sat behind desks complaining about their customers. Even though, after leaving I emailed the sales person a couple of questions, called a few times and here we are a week later and zero response. Needless to say, I went somewhere else and found my double wall oven but decided to upgrade up for an M series Wolf and also bought a new Wolf range. In addition they're working on getting us a built in Sub Zero cooler. Gerhards....you do the math on what you lost this sale. Bottom line, go somewhere else. I would have to agree 100%. Bought a freezer from them on Thursday, got it home and it was dented. Called them Friday morning to discuss how to resolve this issue, they requested photos so I sent them that day. It is now 7 days later and we have called and left messages just about every single day and we just can't get this issue resolved. No return phone calls or emails. It's even hard to get these people to answer the phone without putting you on hold forever. So, $300 bucks for a brand new freeze that looks like this. When the delivery team arrived with the appliance, we were informed that the appliance would most certainly not fit within the designated space. Great experience from beginning to end. Salesman, Erik Meyer was very helpful and knowledgeable about product features and benefits. We stoped by to price a replacement dual wall oven and ended up buying a new oven, cook top and refrigerator. The installation was handled perfectly and the install crew were on time, efficient, skilled and left my kitchen clean and without any dings or scratches. I expected to wait months to get the appliances we ordered but Erik worked his magic and they arrived within weeks. Purchased a new whirlpool refrigerator one month ago. The refrigerator is a lemon. Gerhards customer service has sent out 4 times, each time the tech leaves, the problem comes back. Freezer walls are covered in ice, and refrigerator doesn't keep cold. Gerhards refuses to advocate for me to get a replacement refrigerator. So now i no longer have a working freezer or refrigerator, i have thrown away $100's of dollars of food. Gerhards customer service solution is to send out for the 5th time the same appliance repair company, fast appliance repair, to figure it out. I went to Gerhards to buy a Wolf gas range, however I was told they were 8 months out. The salesman recommended an LG, " the LG is almost as good for 1/3 the price", he said. I purchased the LG, fortunately I purchased the extended warranty. The problems started almost immediately, the oven racks kept popping out of the tracks, the sent me new racks. The oven would not get hot I kept getting error messages, after several tries it would start to get hot but it would take 15-20 minutes to get to temperature (375). It also would not get to set temperature, yet the display said it had. After complaining that the new racks did not solve the issue new racks were ordered and a technician came to the house. After spending 30 minutes to no avail, he declared it a very poor design that it could not be repaired. Thank God I bought the warranty as I got my money back less the cost of the warranty and sales tax, which was $700. I looked up the LG ranges online, sadly after I bought it, and all my issues were mentioned in the customer reviews. I will never shop at Gerhards again as the salesman I had cannot be trusted. Tale of two deliveries.... Refrigerator delivery/installation guys were awesome: helpful, friendly, kind, knowledgeable. They went above and beyond. The Dishwasher installation guy was cordial, but clearly wanted to get in and out. Never looked me in the eye once. Washer works well, but the installer guy cut corners and lazily used too long mounting screws. Screws protruded clearly out the other side and into the adjoining cabinets. Dangerous situation... someone could've really gotten hurt if I hadn't noticed. Notified Sales guy and filled out the survey .... no response! I went to Gerhard's a couple of weeks ago, looking at new kitchen appliances, but specifically needing a countertop microwave for my soon to be purchased house. Erik Meyer (Doylestown store manager) assisted me on a VERY busy Saturday, and found that they had one in stock in the warehouse (I bought it and picked it up a couple of days later). He also took the time to give me a detailed quote on the other appliances I wanted and checked stock levels and expected delivery backlogs. Went back a couple of days before closing on the house purchase, and placed my order for a range, dishwasher, refrigerator, and a particular clothes dryer (that I wanted last year, but it was impossible to get). The range and dryer were in stock, the dishwasher was due in to the warehouse the following day, and the refrigerator is due back in stock sometime in August. Fast forward to yesterday (7/22), when my delivery went off without a hitch. I was scheduled for the 7:00-11:00 am time window, and the truck arrived at 8:15. The dishwasher installation was a bit more complicated than expected (some minor plumbing and electrical work was needed), but all went well. Yes, there was an additional charge, but I would have had to bring in a plumber and an electrician to do the work anyway. The range went in place easily, and the Speed Queen dryer (which I love) is perfect. The guys from JJB Installations were professional, efficient, and very nice. Great job by all involved! I look forward to hearing that the refrigerator is in the warehouse waiting to be delivered. read more

I have never had such an unbelievable experience what an incompetent organization. They delivered a washing machine that didn't work from the moment it arrived. I have been trying to resolve this issue for 3 weeks. They don't respond to phone calls or emails. They have taken me to my breaking point I have asked them repeatedly to come pick up this defective washer they keep telling me that a manager will call me by the end day still waiting... I have purchased elsewhere and disputed the credit card charge and their defective washer is in my garage waiting for them to come pick it up. If could rate them as zero stars, I probably would. I bought a new GE profile refrigerator over two months ago. That day, I called Gerhard's to report four different issues with the unit. From that moment until today, I've had three service technician visits and countless hours on the phone trying to get my issues resolved. The worst part of this experience is the total lack of customer service. The sales rep has never followed up on my issues, and I am constantly calling their customer service organization to get resolution. Instead, I get the "we'll call you back later", which never happens. Nothing like having your gas oven die the week before a holiday! We had already replaced our washer in the fall (why do appliances all go around the same time?!) & had a positive experience at Gerhard's. Their in stock inventory on their website makes a " need it fast" purchase so much more efficient. We were able to have three options to look at, and James was wonderful at pointing out pros and cons of each gas range. We were able to choose a model, schedule a delivery within 2 days, and done the process in 1/2 an hour. The buying experience was okay, although the salesperson was a bit rude to me when I explained what I did not want in a new microwave, talking down to me. I ended up with the one I would have chosen if left on my own. That being said, I chalked it up to my own sensitivity. The delivery went as planned, but my husband and I noticed the microwave tilting forward the following day at a noticeable degree. Trying to contact someone about this was not an easy task, called customer service, explaining the situation, I was transferred to the "service department", waiting on hold for 40 minutes, explaining the issue again, and then being transferred again to "delivery". Shouldn't we have been transferred to delivery in the first place? At this point I was already in a bad mood, but they scheduled a return in one week, so I was OK with that Notification department does a great job texting, emails etc, letting us know time of service. I had a very good experience with Gerhard's. I needed a new refrigerator and because it was a built in, I had strict size requirements. Gerhard's had the one I needed in stock when no one else did. I was relieved that they delivery here to Central New Jersey, closer to NYC, even though they are outside of Philadelphia. I followed up with them when I was concerned that the measurements of the new fridge might be slightly off, and they double checked and assured me the new one would fit, which it did. I am putting four stars instead of five only because it was difficult to get someone on the phone. I ended up using the chat function on the web site and communicated with a real person, but I would have preferred speaking to someone on the phone.
