I would highly suggest taking your car to the dealership as their pricing is the same if not more, they want to oversell you on the services that are not really needed and for someone not familiar with auto repair it can get very expensive. TOP GERE! My daughter's Honda Civic fell behind on its regular maintenance schedule a bit at 235,000 miles and needed some help to get back on track. Upon recommendation of a friend, we brought the Honda to Gere Auto Repair. The radiator hose was leaking and the car had overheated. The belts were cracked and I had no idea if the timing belt and water pump had been changed on schedule at 210,000 miles from the previous owner. The car was loosing oil slowly and a couple of other small maintenance items needed to be done such as the trunk did not latch properly and the driver's headlamp was operating intermittently. We were given an estimate of the work that needed to be done, which they were able to e-mail to me. The estimate looked OK, and they had an opening the next day. The mechanic fixed all of the issues in the car one by one. At 4:00 the service adviser called to let me know that one of his part deliveries was a bit late, so the work was going to have to go into overtime. The oil leak was due to a leaky oil pan gasket, which they fixed. The shop normally closes at 5:30. By 5:30, the car was bolted together again and ready for a test drive. The car was nicely cleaned-up and ran like a charm. We were out by 6:10. No sticker shock and everything was fixed. I am glad they did not rush the job just to get out at quitting time, but worked in order to do the job right. I will be bringing the car back to Gere Auto Repair for regular oil changes so that it can be preventatively maintained. Their check list identifies maintenance issues that need to be taken care of beyond selling you an air filter, light bulbs or new windshield wipers, but also identifies all those problems that you need the mechanic to catch early like leaks, brake pads, CV joint issues, etc. Regular oil changes and keeping up with maintenance is the secret to keeping a car running for a long time. When you find a car repair service that is trustworthy, does an excellent job, is priced fairly, and stands 100% behind their work, DO NOT LET THEM GO! We've been using Gere Auto Repair for years for our family cars. We have had a variety of cars, some domestic and some foreign, and there isn't a one that hasn't been repaired well with long-lasting results. The most recent case illustrates the level of trustworthy service: we had a problem with a car battery that kept dying. All my consumer-level diagnoses could not find the problem. We left it with Gere Automotive for a few days to diagnose, and they found an open circuit in a hard-to-find section of the electrical system. That fixed the problem and the battery now works just fine. I know that when Gere Automotive finds a problem, it's something that's truly a problem and not something just to get more income. I couldn't be more impressed with Corky and Gere Auto Repair! We originally dropped off our Nissan Sentra to have our driver side window fixed. That left us with only one vehicle, our 2006 Jeep Commander. My husband and I stopped in North Bend to run an errand at about 6 in the evening, and when we went to get back into our vehicle the Jeep would not turn over. We were very frustrated and unsure what we were going to do, looking at possibly having to have it towed. My husband and I jumped out to push it into a more secure parking location. As were were pushing, a man (i had not met), drove by, stopped his vehicle and jumped out to help us push. He then explained to us that he owned the local auto repair shop. Wow, what a coincidence! He then diagnosed the problem as a battery issue. Even though his significant other was waiting, he quickly drove home got a wattage tester, tested our battery and confirmed his diagnosis. He then offered to sell us a battery and told us he was on his way to the gym but he would bring us a battery from his shop on his way back and asked that we wait only an hour or so. We were thrilled. Waiting an hour didn't seem too difficult considering only minutes before we weren't sure how we were even going to get home. Then, ten minutes later, Corky showed up with a battery that would work. He had to special order a battery for our vehicle. He told us he didn't want to keep us waiting and felt bad. Wow! What excellent service and a genuinely helpful man. He ordered our battery and we picked it up and swapped it out when we picked up our Nissan. It was truly a testament to Corky's character to stop to help a complete stranger for no reason a weeknight evening after hours. We will be going there for all repairs going forward!!! read more

I have a 2005 Acura MDX that was shaking bad when I accelerated. I tried taking it to Acura but they gave me the run around so I called Gere Auto. They got me in the same day. Corky took a quick test drive with me, and pulled it into the shop. He diagnosed that I had a bad axle joint. He order the new axle and had it delivered the next day. I told him my family was heading over the Snoqualmie pass for New Years so he squeezed me in the next day, which was the 31st. Corky fixed the axle and the Acura is running great with no shaking. The cost was under $200. I am very pleased with the service I received, and am happy I have found a good mechanic especially since I am new to the Snoqualmie area. I will be taking my cars to Gere going forward. read more

These guys were so helpful and friendly at 5:30 on a Friday night when they could have ignored the phone ringing. My 16 yr old son was heading to see his uncle - in an older car we'd just bought - he'd never driven it very far and it started smoking quite a lot. He was approaching North Bend so I said a quick prayer, searched the google map of the area and chose to call Gere's. The guy who answered listened to - a mom trying not to sound too frantic - and agreed to take a look. It is awesome to have a mechanic in your town who is incredibly knowledgeable and honest, too. My daughter's car battery was having problems holding a charge. We had bought a replacement, but that, too, became dead a couple weeks later. We brought her car to Cory, and he figured out it was simply a bad battery cable, as opposed to something like a new alternator that would cost a lot more. We were 65 miles away from home on our way to Richland for a hunting trip when our truck started making a strange noise. We stopped at 1 garage who had no time to help us but referred us to your auto repair. Corky took our truck right in to look at it. When the news came back that are rear differential was going out and it would be very costly and take 2 days to repair we had to cancel our hunting trip and return home. Corky very honest with us about the cost and time it would take. When we ask about the cost for the diagnostic he said not to worry about it that we had lost enough having to give up our trip. He gave us his time and talent and a great act of kindness that helped soften a nasty disappointment. The owner, Corky Gere does not stand behind his work. On March 10 a poor quality oil filter was installed and the leak that ensued caused near disastrous damages. By April 3 the car was smoking and most of the oil gone. Another mechanic repaired and cleaned up the mess on that weekend because Gere Auto was closed and did not respond to my phone call. Gere's response was to have no interest in reimbursing my expense including the cost of the offending oil and filter change. Unprofessional treatment by phone of me, the customer. read more
