My experience with Dr. Fine was great. I had 4 wisdom teeth removed by him and can say that though having oral surgery is never fun, Dr. Fine made it as comfortable an experience as I could hope for. My father and I arrived twenty minutes prior to the procedure. Dr. Fine greeted us and immediately broke the ice and made us both very comfortable with his funny sense of humor. He answered our questions, set our expectations for the procedure, and had the prescription and directions to the closest pharmacy ready before we arrived. This, coupled with Dr. Fine's funny personality and nice demeanor made the pre-procedure very comfortable. The procedure itself did not last longer than an hour and only days later, I am healing wonderfully. Dr. Fine was also very reachable after the procedure for fall up questions. Just went to see Dr. Fine today for a tooth extraction. His staff was very helpful and seemed to go out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and relaxed. Considering the pain I was about to experience I appreciated the effort they made to make me feel at ease. Dr. Fine is professional and down to earth. Awesome! My regular dentist could not do the procedure as it involved a molar extraction. He was able to get me an appointment right away. Right from the get go, the staff was professional. I was glad I had my Universal discount plan and had no trouble at all. Extractions are never pleasant and I was totally petrified. Two of my friends had also had him as a surgeon and raved about his bedside manner. It did not take me long to understand why. If I ever have serious dental problems again, I would go to him in a heartbeat. This is day two and although slightly sore from where the novacain went in, I'm doing just fine. There is a soft tissue where the tooth came out, but I'm fine. My regular dentist will see me in a month for the cleaning. He is very talented and knowledgeable. Two years ago my Maryland Bridge broke he wanted me to go for an implant. I convinced him that he was clever enough to engineer another bridge. He did so and gets a chance to admire his work whenever he cleans my teeth. His name is Theodore Swerdlick, so when he recommended Dr Fine, I considered the source and did not require a second opinion. A fantastic oral surgeon all around. Last week I had all four wisdom teeth pulled, 2 of which were impacted. In about 30 minutes they were all out with nary a wince on my part. His staff were all welcoming and he himself is super friendly and hospitable. Today I went back because of some post-op pain I was experiencing and he examined me same day. He found a bone chip, removed it, and added some stitches, all free of charge. Honestly, you couldn't ask for better. read more

Dr. Fine does make the experience of having a wisdom tooth removed a less stressful experience. He is calm and funny. HOWEVER, I feel bitter because I wound up with a $500 bill from one of the subsequent procedures he performed that I ended up not really needing! My gum kept getting inflamed and I kept going back to see him until finally he told me that I would need to have a biopsy (which wasn't covered by my insurance) and the results came back fine and my gum cleared up after that. So just make sure anything he does on you is necessary and covered by your insurance! read more

I just moved to the area and recently had a wisdom tooth crack. I am very lucky to have found Dr. Fine and his awesome team. I had initially called the office after hours and left a message with their answering service. By 9am the following day, a member from his office called me back and I had an appointment the very next week. In general, I am not a huge fan of dentists but within seconds of walking into Dr. Fine's office, I was immediately at ease. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and made me feel very reassured I would be taken care of. Following the initial x-rays, I was taken into the room where the procedure would take place. Dr. Fine came in and after some small talk, he began to work on my mouth. His bedside manner couldn't have been better and he made sure I was comfortable the entire time. He kept the conversation light and tried to make me laugh several times, even with an incredibly numb mouth! But after more than a few shots of Novocaine (I had made it very clear I didn't want to feel a thing!) and a few "weird" noises, my tooth was out! I was shocked that it was so painless and extremely quick. After some post-op care instructions from the nice and helpful assistant, I was out the door! Overall, the entire process took less than 30 minutes. I felt great and was able to call my parents and walk up to the nearby CVS and have my prescription filled. I highly recommend Dr. Fine and his fantastic team for any procedure needed to get done. They were courteous, cordial and couldn't have made my experience any better. If you are reading this to decide if you should see Dr. Fine for your oral surgery, I highly recommend him. I have been to him twice now (most recently April of 2012) and he has been nothing but polite, caring and filled with humor. He did an excellent job and recovery was as to be expected. You have to understand (and take it from me who is guilty of this) it's not Dr. Fine's fault if you pass out from needles but he will pour gingerale down your throat and give you a cold rag... it's not Dr. Fine's fault if you are in extreme pain but he will make time to see you right away. He even picked up the phone and made the appointment himself because I called before open hours. What Dr. does that? I understand people are bitter on here because you see more negative bloggers than positive ones and they may have had bad experiences with their teeth undue backlash on Dr. Fine- but I'm a bit of a critic and I know a good surgeon when I see one. Dr. Fine and team are wonderful. I had two impacted wisdom teeth extracted by him two weeks ago. It was an early morning appointment under sedation, and the whole procedure took less than an hour. The staff gave really detailed post-surgery instructions; I followed the instructions as given, and did not have any complications. No dry sockets! I could eat non-pureed food three days after the surgery and my facial swelling was also gone by day 3. I only had to take a minimum amount of Vicodin (2x/day for 3 days) and then I was on Advil only. Dr. Fine is hilarious and really nice. He kept me (and my sister who accompanied me!) highly entertained and relaxed before and after the surgery. Getting your teeth pulled is not a fun activity--so it is important to find a dentist who is professional and minimizes post-surgery complications. I had a great experience at Dr. Fine's office and would HIGHLY recommend him for all your dental surgery needs. The only thing I am upset about is that I can't make him my regular dentist since his practice is limited to surgery. Sigh. Let's be honest here: the services that Dr. Fine provide are not the kind of fun stuff people generally look forward to. With that said, if you find yourself in a situation in which you need some help, I've never encountered a more professional, pleasant and fun group of people than Dr. Fine and his staff. I'm actually amazed to read some of the negative comments below, as I've now had both of my oral surgeries done by Dr. Fine, and both have gone amazingly well (although I'm only about an hour removed from my second Wisdom Tooth Extraction). First, the desk staff is incredibly responsive and respectful; helping to get you scheduled quickly and provide relief (if applicable) as soon as possible. Plus, they make sure that you're prepared, confirmed and good to go well in advance of the actual appointment. Beyond that, the office itself is in a great location; and it's bright and clean. In regards to Dr. Fine, I've never felt more comfortable around any doctor; whether primary care, dental or something completely different. He's knowledgeable, trustworthy, fair and downright funny. He was unequivocally honest throughout the entire process, and made sure I was comfortable and prepared for the operation. Plus, he's helping me design a piece of jewelry with the tooth that came out......okay, that's a joke but I seriously think he would if I asked. All in all, I couldn't imagine seeing anyone else for any kind of oral surgery. He is amazing at what he does, and he (and his entire staff) have treated me impeccably well before, during and after every visit. I have only good things to say about Dr. Fine!!! I recently had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Fine. All of my teeth were impacted and close to the nerve, putting me at risk for nerve damage. I also have a very small mouth and the position of my jaw put me at high risk for swelling in my neck and a long recovery. I was terrified that I would lose feeling in my face or wouldn't be able to taste food. After a consultation at another office (which was really disappointing) I went to Dr. Fine for a second opinion. He was very up front about the risks and cost of the procedure. As it turns out, Dr. Fine was so skillful with my surgery that I had no complications at all. He was very pleasant on the phone answering all of my questions before the surgery. After the procedure I was concerned about how I was healing. I was able to have a follow-up appointment scheduled an hour after I called. Finally, I really appreciated that Dr. Fine's office was tough on my insurance company. His office continued to contact the insurance company and squeeze out every drop of money they would pay. Initially there were several costs that my insurance wouldn't cover. A few weeks after the surgery Dr. Fine's office mailed me a refund check which saved me almost $800. Dr. FIne seemed to be a nice doctor, but the experience that I had was terrible because of 2 incidents. I went to him last year for a consult to extract 4 wisdom teeth & was given an estimate. Because the estimate was so high, I bought a secondary insurance plan to help cover the portion leftover. When I decide to have the surgery done, Vicki, who takes care of the financial part, gave me an estimate of under $200. Dr. Fine told me the day of the surgery that I had little restrictions in eating, maybe take my mom & I out to Chinese that night, but just to be careful. I could have chicken, rice, anything simple. I thought this was strange since I've heard people should wait for it to heal more before diving into hard food. Well, that night I listened to him & had a regular dinner being extra careful with my chewing...the next few days I developed an infection in my CHEEK with pus filling in one side. I had to go in early one morning to have him drain it which consisted of him pushing his finger on the infected part to push it out. After having the surgery done, I got a bill for $1,900.00 which surprised me since Vicki told me my secondary insurance would cover it. After calling my insurance company, they & Vicki blamed each other for not receiving the correct information from one another which resulted in me having to pay for it. The doctor was accommodating & lowered the bill by a little bit, but they expected me to pay that balance in full within 6 months. Vicki even admitted to not asking the correct information, but I'm the one that had to pay for it. She was extremely unprofessional, took a while to gather all of my information as I just wanted to get this over with, & didn't return my phone calls until many attempts to contact her. My dentist recommended Dr. Fine, but I would seek other options first. read more

Highly recommended. I went in yesterday for a consultation to get one partially impacted tooth removed, and the doctor was able to remove it right then and there! After putting novocaine around the area, it was literally a 30 second procedure and the next thing I knew my tooth was on the table next to me! And no pain - it kind of just felt like someone was pushing upwards on my tooth with a finger. The best part is that I don't have to go back because the stitches will come out on their own. read more

I gave him one star for being punctual. He was the worst dentist in the entire world. Please take note, if your dentist is telling you he is having marital problems and wants to take off to do some acting again after starring in the Guiding Light in the 1980's. Do yourself a favor and don't have your teeth pulled by him. He told me to stop screaming because I was scaring all the other patients. I got an infection in my right impacted wisdom tooth after removal which then caused a muscle spasm in my neck. I ended up with TMJ which I still have today. Not to mention the removal of wisdom teeth was completely unnecessary. I was not having any problems with them, nothing, just some cavities. Could have gotten fillings and then been done with it. He was aweful. I hope I never had to see him again. read more

I had two teeth removed: one impacted wisdom on the top and one non-impacted wisdom on the top. I only got the local painkiller shots, and even though my teeth were bigger than bowling balls, and portend 15 pound babies in my future, I have not had any excruciating pain after the procedure! I definitely recommend Dr. Fine and his lovely Texas-native assistant, Deb, for any dental surgery procedure. They make a great team, and I was extremely comfortable while they worked in my teeny mouth to extract some awkwardly positioned, HUGE, and deeply embedded teeth. read more

Hi Dr. FIne, it has been exactly one month over my wisdom tooth surgery and i still have pain int the jaw joint. I have really bad inflamation in the gum althought I have just finished 500 mg penislin in 10 days. Besides all this I dont feel my tongue. I might need to have another nerve surgery to bring this feeling back. I dont know how you explain this surgery. And I dont know what you have done it in my mouth. I had removed one bone peices from the gum after two weeks of surgery, and still there is big piece feeling in the gum. Ofcourse, you dd not check X-ray after the surgery, how can you tell me what is it.!!! still i have bleeding in the gum. when i had left wisdom teeth, those people were just dental student and the root of the impacted tooth was connected to chin bone. All this they did excellent job and I had recovered totally in 10 days. Here is the case, I dont get it why you didnt give me antibiotics after the surgery? how this tongue still be numb? why i did have really big hole in the cheek? All the roots were directed toward to bottom of the chin not to cheek. I am going to follow this situation. Horrible service. I went in for a consultation because I was in terrible pain. My wisdom tooth was impacted and I had developed an infection. My taxi driver took me the wrong route so I was almost 10 minutes late. I had called to let them know what had happened. Once I got to the office the receptionist, Vicki, was incredibly rude and gave me a lecture on how I shouldn't have been late. It was ridiculous. I asked her if they took my insurance, I was told they took the same as my college but since I was late she hurried me in to see Dr. Fine. Dr. Fine seemed pleasant. I was in the office for about 15 minutes. He prescribed an antibiotic and then he took an X-ray and I had a quick consultation with him about removing my wisdom teeth. I told him I would think about it. This was some time around January. On May 8th I received a very rude voicemail from Vicki regarding the outstanding bill that I apparently had with the office. By that time I had assumed that they took care of it with my insurance since I hadn't heard from them for almost 5 months. I talked to my parents about it and by the end of the month we received a bill for $200. I'm not sure what could have possibly cost that much since I was in the office for maybe 20 minutes but I didn't argue. It was a busy time for my family so we weren't home much and didn't get a chance to call them back right away. We contacted our insurance and were informed that they hadn't received anything from Dr. Fine's office. We tried calling their office a few times but they were either closed or no one answered the phone. It was very difficult to contact them. We finally had a chance to talk to Vicki and I was really surprised at how she spoke to us. She argued with us on the phone for over 15 minutes. She threatened to send the bill for collection, as if to intimidate us! All we asked was for her to send the bill to our insurance and we would pay the rest but she absolutely didn't want to do that and kept repeating that it was an old account and that it she was surprised it hadn't been sent to collection yet. She said they had sent us bills which we never received until the May one. It was apparent that she didn't want to be bothered with this. If it was such an issue I don't see why they couldn't call earlier, before sending me such an upsetting voicemail in May. There must have been a miscommunication during my visit or I had given her the wrong insurance. However, she was very unprofessional and I just wish they had contacted us earlier so it didn't have to come to such an unpleasant situation. We have never had a problem paying any bill and no one has ever spoken to us in such a terrible way! I wouldn't send anyone here, it really isn't worth all the stress I went through. one star, because you have to click at least one. ugh. glad my wisdom tooth is out. less glad that dr. fine was a rude, unprofessional, misogynistic douchecanoe. i was listening to music during the procedure (which he had said was totally okay!), and he asked me partway through to take my headphones out for a moment to tell me something. at this point, i was in a lot of pain from him pulling on my face so hard to get at the tooth. i complied, then when he seemed to be done, i asked if i could put the headphones back in, and he said no (without a real explanation). i figured he wanted me to be able to hear him still. so i said i would just put it in one ear so i could still hear. he kept arguing with me, without an explanation, and i was basically having a small panic attack at this point because my face hurt and i wanted my musical security blanket. in tears, i told him that i have anxiety, and that yes, in my rush out the door to the appointment, i had forgotten to take my meds. he retorted with, "well it's not my fault you have anxiety and forgot your meds!" he then proceeded to basically scold me and tell me i wasn't listening/understanding him, but he wasn't explaining what the deal was. i put my headphones back in anyway because i was so mad, embarrassed, and hurt at that point. he finally was like, "are you done? can we continue?" to me as i was crying. after he got the tooth out, i commented that it was fine, nothing had happened as a result of me putting my headphones in (in just one ear). he was like, "you could have swallowed your tooth! you didn't have time to fiddle with your headphones," while gesturing at them. never mind that the tooth was nowhere near out when it had happened. it was an incredibly dehumanizing experience that made *me* feel like i should be ashamed of and apologetic about my reaction. i mean, my knee-jerk response at the end of the procedure was to apologize for crying. WHY? i shouldn't have apologized for that, but i did. in conclusion, GO TO LITERALLY ANY OTHER ORAL SURGEON. read more

I had a broken tooth, got an appointment within 2 days of calling when everyone else in town was booked out for a month, got there, he surgically extracted the tooth in about 20 minutes, done, minimal co-pay, you really can't ask for more. I think people have unrealisitic expectation of how much a surgical extraction would hurt.....people, deal with it, it hurts, get over it. I was fine in about 30 min, took a prescribed vicodin and was essentially pain free. read more

First of all, let me say that Yelp reviews can be viciously misleading. You never get the other side of the story associated with the bad reviews. I did not read the reviews until after my procedure, but asked Dr. Fine about them during my follow up appointment--hearing the other side made some of these a lot more balanced. That said--this will be an objective review--just my experience, take it or leave it. My Consultation: occurred a few months prior to my procedure (my choice--I wanted to do the procedure over the Labor Day long weekend). A disclaimer--I am a very very...(did I mention very?)...nervous person when it comes to anything medically invasive. My procedure for extraction of 4 wisdom teeth (2 impacted, 2 partially erupted) would be my first experience with general anesthesia and surgery in general. And I was extremely nervous. But! During my consultation, Dr Fine was very relaxed, understanding of my concerns, and explained any and all of the things that could go wrong, in the very rare case. He spoke to me in terms of numbers, which resonated with me very well--i.e. knowing that in the really long number of years that he's been doing this procedure, it had only happened to a small % (he had an actual #). What also comforted me was the tone he took with it--it wasn't as if he was saying, "well, this is what you have to have done, so deal with it"...but instead was more of "you don't have to get this done now if you're that worried about it, and you don't even have to come back to me to do it, but if it's something you want to do, I'm good at what I do, and I will take care of you". I liked this very much. So I scheduled my appointment. The Procedure: First thing on a Friday morning--Dr Fine sat in the waiting room with my mother and I to answer any last minute questions, and go over the aftercare instructions. Detailed, yet concise instructions for any situation--for directly after getting home, and signs to watch for in the case of dry sockets or infections. It also gave a pager number in case of emergency (which I did not need to use). We went back to the operating room, and Dr Fine was accommodating in regards to things that scared me (I asked him to wait until I was asleep to put on the vital signs monitors, and he happily obliged). I was asleep in probably under 30 seconds, and don't remember anything until I woke up in the recovery room (conveniently right across the hall). Post-Op: Believe me when I say the procedure went so smoothly that I DID NOT EVEN NEED TO TAKE THE VICODIN that was prescribed (even though Dr Fine assured me that I probably would be feeling the pain in the spots where I had impacted teeth.) Not the case--I was totally fine on Advil for the first 3-4 days...don't get me wrong, it wasn't pleasant, but it was not hindering me from doing anything either. I had no post-op issues to speak of. Follow up appointment: It wasn't necessary, but Dr Fine said if I had any questions, or wanted to see how I was healing, to come in for a quick appointment. He was able to see me BEFORE THE OFFICE OPENED, just so I could get to work on time...that's accommodating, if you ask me. The only negative thing I tend to agree with is the patient privacy comment that was made--the patient rooms do not have doors, so everything is very open. That said, when I was in for appointments/procedures, there were no other patients present anyway, so it was not a big deal. read more

Do not go to this general surgeon. My daughter has a hole in her neck due to post surgery care. She had to get emergency surgery to release an infection that was blocking her airway. The emergency doctors tried to reach Dr. Fine, and he did not return their phone calls. He was on vacation in Vietnam. I guess he still lives in the 19th century and cannot be reached by cell phone. He still has not even contacted my daughter, even though numerous messages were left for him at his office. read more

I went to Gerald Fine to extract my four impacted wisdom teeth, while the surgery went well, my post-op experience was much less than pleasant. I had to be seen for shooting pain in my ear and jaw. After calling the emergency number provided by the doctor to report my escalating pain (which could be a sign of an infection), I was expected to wait 3 days (due to a holiday weekend) without any type of antibiotic or the suggestion of an emergency room visit. Once your payment clears, be prepared to have rushed service, horrible pain management, and a overbearingly condescending doctor. My experience from the first phone call to follow up care has been one of excellent patient care, respect, and complete, comprehensive attention to my oral health . Dr Fine and his team of professionals treated me like I was the most important person in the office when I arrived, and while I was being seen. The atmosphere is intentionally relaxed and comfortable; from the comfortable couches and chairs to the air quality in the waiting room. My 20 year old daughter had four of her wisdom teeth extracted the day before Thanksgiving... two of which were impacted. First, Dr. Fine looked at the paperwork I'd filled out and saw I had marked allergic to latex. So he grilled me on just how badly I am allergic to latex and asked me if it would be ok if he wore latex gloves while working on my mouth. Of course I told him I would not allow any such thing. I then glanced around and saw that all the boxes of gloves in his office are latex. So then he proceeded to take a round-ended dental tool without any gloves at all, and poked around and looked very briefly in my mouth (less than 1 minute). Yuck, I thought to myself. This was not preceded or followed by handwashing. Then, he sat down with me at the computer and showed me the xray. He told me that my teeth are not impacted (unlike what my dentist I am fairly sure did say; I do believe she said they are impacted, though maybe I should ask her again just to be sure). So if I am remembering my dentist's comments correctly, Dr. Fine is in disagreement with her. Dr. Fine said that extracting them is a very simple dental procedure that will not require sedation. He then went on to say that the way he does it, he cuts the tooth VERTICALLY, removes one half of it, and then removes the other half of it. So, I innocently got mildly curious as to whether he meant he cuts the front of the tooth away from the back of the tooth, or whether he cuts the right side of the tooth away from the left side of the tooth. Either way, it would be a vertical slice as compared to the floor. Well, as soon as I asked this perfectly innocent question, he got very defensive and said, "What do you want to know that for? It's not relevant! It's not important! Why do you want to know!?" I gave him a couple reasons. REALLY. I did. I shouldn't have had to give him reasons, but I did anyway (these reasons are not important for this review). "Well you don't need to know, and I'm going to cut it vertically and that's all you need to know! A vertical line runs straight up and down!" "Look, a vertical slice with a knife isn't just a hole with a drill; which way will you slice it?" I asked. He said, "You don't need to know that!" So I said, "Look, I just want to know! Look here, you have a tooth here (I grabbed the model of a lower jaw sitting on his desk); are you going to slice this way or that way?" I said this while making slicing motions with my hand. The meaning of my question couldn't have been more obvious. "Vertical means straight up and down!" he said, pointing a finger at the floor. Finally, after all this argument, I eventually got him to show me on the model what he meant, and he finally showed me that he meant he would cut each lower tooth in half such that there would be a front half and a back half of the tooth (rather than a left side and a right side). I then tried to get him to tell me whether the same thing would happen with the upper teeth but he seemed not to understand the question at all. Obviously, this guy is a JERK, so even if he's right that the teeth aren't impacted, I don't want him touching my teeth. AAAAARGH. So now, I feel that I want a second opinion and maybe I want a different DENTIST in addition to a different oral surgeon, and I don't know how my health insurance and my dental insurance are going to go along with all that. I did not have to pay any copay on my way out, but they said their insurance person is going to call me. So I'm waiting for that call but meanwhile thinking about finding a different provider!!! Something PECULIAR I noted, once I had finally won my little argument to get him to answer my "what do you mean by vertical" question, his demeanor changed weirdly. Up to that point he'd been cold and rude, but once he got done answering that question he suddenly acted like I was his best friend ever. He was overwhelmingly friendly. HMMMMM. I think this guy may have a psychiatric issue of some sort that makes his demeanor change and flipflop unpredictably. I have been reading the other reviews on Yelp, where some people think he's very nice and professional and other have had rough experiences, so this may be the case. I happen to be looking for a general dentist, and saw in horror that Dr Fine is still practicing. It compelled to me to write what a HORRIBLE experience I had there and this was years ago. I was referred by my general dentist, to have a cracked tooth pulled. I have had many dental experiences as I had a major restoration, and my general dentist and specialists were great no problems. I have a high tolerance for pain, and had no fear of dentistry. First impression was the office was dingy and the receptionist was not too friendly. Dr Fine seemed odd, and somewhat heavy handed when examining my mouth. He shot me up with Novocaine, and 20 minutes later started to pull the tooth. Well I was in pure agony, I felt the pain, and motioned him to stop to give me more Novocaine. He tried to tell me I wasn't in that much pain and gave me a bit more and started again. Now this part no one will believe, but I SWEAR it's true. He was literally leveraging himself and pulled with all his might, and the pain was nauseating. I broke out in a sweat, and the tears were rolling down my face. His assistant felt badly for me, and suggested a break. I was literally soaking wet with sweat, and completely nauseated from the level of pain. She gave me a cool cloth, and he came back and started again. He finally pulled it out. I left with no pain medication, and he said to take Tylenol. Well as the day progressed I began to have excruciating pain. I called the office and he had left for the day. The receptionist suggested I call back the following morning. Well I could not bear the pain, and called my general dentist. He had me come in right away, and it was a dry socket. Thank God for my general dentist(now retired), because I had never experienced such a traumatic extraction, not to mention such a rude and weird dentist, along with such post-op complications. My dentist gave me a shot of Novocaine, and pain meds. He called Dr Fine and asked him what happened and told him of the dry socket. He said to send me over, and I refused. Moral of the story-RUN THE OTHER WAY- This "oral surgeon" is a nightmare! read more

Dr.Fine is nice during the consult and then during the procedure is agressive. I've had my wisdom tooth extracted before and it was not like this at all. After the third day I was in an unusual amount of pain and went back. He put some nasty tasting gauze in the hole without even explaining why or what he was doing. He pushes on the already painful area and doesnt even approach with care. I had to go out of state and had to have an emergency visit with another Oral Surgeon. What a difference in care!! He gave me antibiotics, mouth rinse and more pain medicine without suspecting abuse or over use of the pain meds. I AM in pain DR. Fine thats what they are for!! After I saw Dr.Fine that day I've never heard from him again. Today is the 10th day!!! I can't open my mouth all the way and am in pain still but it is improving. Do yourself a favor......DON'T GO HERE. Go to a young dentist who is modern in his approach and treatment of patients. read more

I had all four wisdom teeth removed last October, and I was very disappointed with the lack of professionalism exhibited by Dr Fine himself. I two procedures and had a similar experience both times. Dr Fine was joking around, telling puns and silly stories, as well as asking questions about my career and personal life before and during one of the appointments (the other I was under general anesthetic). He seemed more concerned with humoring himself than anything else and it was hard to take him seriously as a medical practitioner. He didn't ask about my history with medications and prescribed a painkiller which made me violently ill the night after my surgery. My being well-informed about the treatment I was receiving did not seem to be a priority for him. On top of all that, he is incapable of inserting a simple IV. He was barely paying attention while doing it and it was much more painful than any needle insertion should have been. A week after my procedure there was still a huge, four-inch bruise at the site of insertion. In addition, I was shocked to find out that my insurance was billed for four impacted teeth after having been told by Dr Fine during the consult that none were impacted. my experience with dr fine was nothing but positive. i had a fractured molar removed and it was relatively painless. he also answered the many questions i had. but the best thing of all was his great sense of humor. i've never had so many laughs at the dentist!!! i hope to not have to require an orthodontist again. but if i do, i will certainly be visiting dr fine. read more

Dr. Fine was never mean but he was completely unfriendly even though patient was being extremely polite. Was definitely not him having a bad day because he acted the same during all three visits. Never showed compassion even when patient was experiencing severe pain right in front of him. Communication skills extremely poor. Patient had to ask a million questions to get him to explain diagnosis, what to do, what the prescription drugs did, and what to expect. Diagnosis may have been incorrect because three weeks of following his drug regimen did not improve condition. Doctor even admitted to not knowing why some of the symptoms were occurring and did not know what tests could explain them when asked. Absolutely did not seem to care about patient's pain or feelings as well. I'm sure he's fine with routine procedures like cavity fillings and wisdom tooth removal but with anything else, he honestly did NOT seem sharp or knowledgeable. read more
