Worst dental experience of my life. They try to milk everything out of your insurance and are…read moreincompetent at dentistry 1. I went to them to look at a sensitive tooth and they immediately charged a bunch of stuff to my insurance and told me everything was fine. The dentist Lapage didnt even want to look anywhere else but the tooth in question (despite them running a separate offer for a discounted dental exam) even though they were billing hundreds of dollars to my insurance company to look at one tooth. 2. I went again and then the dentist referred me to the oral surgeon who looked at one side of the mouth and then said there is nothing wrong. Now three visits in and lots of billed stuff to insurance but no solution. 3. A few weeks later I had to go back as it got worse and had to go to another dentist (Bhagavatula?) on an emergency basis. She was good at diagnosing it as a crack using just a special flashlight of some sort and then did the filling. Again billed hundreds of dollars to insurance + emergency visit cost 4. I needed an adjustment on the same filling since it was hitting the other jaw (which I could only tell after the novocaine wore off). I went back to the regular dentist Lapage who made the minor adjustment and then billed my insurance hundreds of dollars again for something that should have been free 5. A few months after that the SAME tooth cracked right down the middle so clearly they hadnt done the initial filling properly either. Now they prepared a giant estimate of nearly 8000$ before insurance (I would have had to pay like ~3000$). 6. At this point I decided to just go somewhere else because firstly the charges were exhorbitant and then the service was shoddy. 7. Finally, they sent me another bill for additional emergency visits (2x $185, because they classified every visit as an emergency and the insurance would only pay for one emergency). I was getting calls from a creepy automated dialer and but I did listen to one and then went in and sort it out. I was able to knock one of emergency visit payments down and just paid the other to close this matter I am never going back there again! What a nightmare

Luckily someone cancelled last minute so I was squeezed in. From the minute I stepped foot into the office, the staff treated me with so much care. Dr. Pappas was professional, friendly, and gentle. I really appreciated how he explained before performing every step so I wasn't surprised and knew what to expect. As a cash patient (and someone from the LA area), $375 to get a filling is somewhat an outrageous amount but not sure if it's the average price in this area. Also I can't complain considering it was a last minute and necessary procedure. Thank you for fixing my tooth!

My two front teeth are chipped and I have been getting composite work completed for years by two different trusted dentists. After moving and doing a lot of research on which dentist provides quality cosmetic work in Boston I booked with CDG. During the initial appointment I was offered crowns, veneers, or composite, and decided to go with composite for the time due to finances. The dentist assured me they could perform composite (I had asked directly because the dentists seemed nervous during the consult). The result of the initial composite work is pictured below and I was extremely unhappy with the uneven and boxy work. You can clearly see one tooth is much bigger than the other and both two front teeth look boxy. The dentist trimmed the tooth down slightly before encouraging me to leave and "call back if I am still unhappy" the next week. I called back and it took me months to get in to have a correction. The second dentist simply added on top of the old composite instead of replacing the whole thing, and the "correction" fell off within 3 months. In the past I have had dentists tell me adding "corrections" on top instead of replacing all of the composite is very weak and is more susceptible to chipping. Given that this work only lasted 3 months I would say that is accurate. I am very unhappy with the care I received here. I will add that the dentist I consulted with for veneers seemed very helpful and if you are looking to get veneer work done this office may be a good fit for you. However, if you are looking for bonding/composite work for chipped or broken teeth I would not go to CDG. In addition to the poor care I have had difficulties with billing. I was quoted that my insurance would cover 100% of the cost before treatment. My insurance changed after this procedure and CDG kept billing the wrong insurance, even though I called to clarify billing start and end dates several times. My insurance ended up only covering a portion of the treatment plan and CDG sent me a bill. When I called to ask why I wasn't quoted that insurance wouldn't cover hundreds of dollars of the procedure they didn't have any help to offer beyond payment plans. Especially for work that I continue to be unhappy with (and has already broken again) I will not be paying hundreds of dollars more than what I was quoted.

The notice said it was my "final notification before collections" -- yet this was literally the first time I had ever been contacted about it. The office has my email and cell number, and they regularly text me for appointments, but never once sent any email, text, or call about this balance. They said they had mailed letters, but I had moved and had specifically informed the office of my new address, so they knew mailed statements wouldn't reach me. Despite that, they never used any of the contact methods I actually receive. The charge itself was for fluoride, which I never would have agreed to if I had known it wasn't covered by my insurance. It was $98 -- something that could easily be written off considering the circumstances. When I explained everything and asked them to comp it, I was told the staff member "did not have the authority" to adjust the balance. But after I mentioned that I would leave an honest review describing the situation, suddenly she did have the ability to offer 25% off. That made it clear that the earlier "I don't have the authority" line was simply a pressure tactic, not the truth. Overall, the lack of communication, the inaccurate claim that I had received multiple notices, and the sudden shift in what they "could" do once I pushed back all felt really unprofessional. I would recommend being extremely cautious with this office, especially around billing and transparency.

They confirm over the phone that they do - which means $0 charge for my cleaning. -May 2021: After my cleaning, they inform me that they actually don't take my insurance. I email them that they had just told me they did a week ago, and they say: "I'm sorry for any inconvenience or confusion, however Aetna is an Out of Network Dental Insurance Company. Sometimes Insurance Company will cover cleansing at 100 % for Out of Network Providers. We will adjust any payments if the insurance company chooses not to pay as a courtesy. I will Cancel any future appointments. Sorry about that!" -Aug 2022: I get a bill so I call them and explain the whole situation again and the front desk agrees that I shouldn't be billed and they would take care of it ASAP. -Aug 2022: I get another phone call from Polly (the office manager) saying that I must pay and that this is not their problem as it was my responsibility to contact my own insurance to confirm (I guess I shouldn't have trusted their front desk?) and they would be sending my bill to collections. I understand I got a service from them but I only went because they told me it would be no cost under my insurance. Polly insinuates this is my fault for believing their front desk and that she is in charge. Really disappointing experience.

Just have random people walking by while the dentist has a drill in my mouth...nothing can go wrong there right? No chance someone sneezes, bumps into the dentist, or any number of things. There are partial walls between patient areas but I could hear what was going on in the other rooms. The equipment is definitely "well used". The chair I've been in the last two visits is cracked and heavily worn. Still serviceable, just not what I'd expected from the "new office" advertising that drew me in. The dentist did excellent work with the fillings (I think?). I didn't see the fillings but I also don't feel the fillings. Great bedside manner during the injection since I'm a baby about needles and drills. Overall happy with my new dentist. Just don't go in expecting a new setup.

In those cities, I have always sought the best dental care available. Dr. Stein has been by far the best dentist I have ever visited. Overall my smile is gorgeous, but I have always had a problem with chronic grinding. Bite guards have helped, but there was some residual jaw pain that seemed I just needed to live with - despite such wonderful prior dental care. However, within the first 30 minutes of meeting Dr. Stein, he performed some magic. Using either an optical scanner or CAD/CAM, he made 3-d renditions of my teeth and running a few tests, he made an adjustment that relieved pain that had been plaguing me for over 10 years. Furthermore, I needed my first crown. Whereas some dental offices take weeks to do crowns, Dr. Stein made a model and completed the total process in 3 hours. The work done was exquisite. What really made me feel so deeply grateful for him, though, was how he responded when I needed help. Around the same time as getting the crown, I needed to have major surgery. When you have major surgery your whole immune system goes into overdrive, and for this reason, the recent crown started to cause me some pain. I reached out to Dr. Stein, and he almost immediately responded from his personal cell phone. This was midday on the weekend. He took a considerable amount of time evaluating what was going on to assess the right treatment. To be safe, I was put on antibiotics. He went on to tell me if I had any other issues to call him. My friend, who was helping me in my recovery, was able to pick them up within the next few hours. I could not have asked for someone to be more responsive, more kind, more patient, or more professional. He followed up with me later that week. It was one of those moments where you realize how lucky you are, and I realize how grateful I was to have chosen to try Dr. Stein since moving to Boston. His offices were clean, with thorough PPE and cleaning that was reassuring. I truly cannot recommend him more.

Over the past ~5 years, I have made a point to specifically schedule appointments with Cindy as my hygienist and Dr. Park as my dentist. Cindy is incredibly talented at her craft--meticulous attention to detail and extremely careful around sensitive areas. She also asks detailed questions and relays important facts to the dentist prior to the evaluation. My cleanings with Cindy are the best I've had, despite having gone to many dental practices in many different cities. She's also an incredibly kind human, and despite seeing me once/6 mos., recalls personal details about my life and follows up with thoughtful questions about family, friends, etc. She's incredibly skilled in the art of patient care and has made my bi-annual check-ups something I look forward to. As a child and young adult, I had a lot of poor dental work and, as a result, can be very nervous about the dentist. Dr. Park has been incredible at quelling those fears. She recently replaced a very deep filling I had from years past, and it was the most superb dental care I've ever received. She's flawless with the novocaine injection, using a distraction technique that completely removes any pain associated with the injection. She ensured the area was completely numb before beginning any work, and despite being near the nerve, was meticulous in removing all cavity and filling the tooth perfectly. She was patient with my fears of feeling the drill and worked at a slow pace and informed me of all the steps she was taking along the way. It takes a lot for me to trust a dentist and I trust her completely. That's also true with her regular examinations--she carefully watches for any deterioration of older fillings, but never recommends work preemptively. Dr. Park is truly a master of her craft, and I hope she will be my dentist for years to come. This is a good time to mention that since leaving Boston for NYC, I make a point to come back once every 6 mos. for my checkups--while I'm sure there are plenty of nice practices in the big apple, I can't imagine it's easy to find such a wonderful hygienist/dentist duo. Thank you to both Cindy and Dr. Park for their superb patient care.
