The vets here were amazing. I just moved into town and called because my dog just got an ear infection and they were so eager to help. I got an appointment right away and they were able to treat him immediately. The receptionists were so welcoming and the vets were so kind and knowledgeable. I was referred to Dr. Dudley by El Centro Vet Clinic in Killeen. I was told he was the best ear surgeon (board certified) around. My 11-year old basset hound, Shorty, had continued to have inner ear infection for quite some time. My vet had worked on the problem for a while but said he needed inner ear surgery. I phoned the Dudley Veterinary clinic and inquired about the procedure and the costs involved. They told me it would be around $1700 - $1800. I set the appointment for February 5, 2015 in the afternoon. When my brother Allen and I arrived we took Shorty inside. We were met by one of his assistants. A few minutes later Dr. Dudley came out to meet me and and do a quick evaluation of Shorty's condition. He and his assistant came out and we discussed the cost. Now I was told that it would be $3000. I advised him that I didn't have enough money so we agreed to run some tests and x-rays to see if Shorty would be able to go under anesthesia. After the tests Dr. Dudley told me Shorty was in very good condition. Only that his red blood cell count was low. He then said he would take Shorty back and do a scraping of the ear and pack it with medicine. We would come back at a later time for the inner ear surgery. When they brought Shorty out he was a little groggy. I paid the $804 cost for work performed and left with Shorty. It was a 45-minute drive back home. When I got Shorty out of the car I noticed a small spot of blood on the sheet in the back of the car. I took Shorty and put him in his bed. He shortly got up to get some water but couldn't open his mouth to drink. He laid back in his bed and I sat with him talking to him. Within minutes blood started gushing from his ear. My brother and I got towels wet and tried to stop the bleeding. I immediately called Dudley's office and spoke to one of his assistants. She told me it was nothing to worry about and that it was normal, to just keep applying pressure and the bleeding would stop. The bleeding continued to worsen. I called back several times and was told the same thing. Finally she gave me Dudley's cell and I called him. He told me the same thing. I had sent pictures to him and his assistant showing the amount of blood Shorty was losing. Dudley told me to cut off about 4-inches of a t-shirt, roll it up tightly, place as far in his ear as possible and wrap his head with a ace-type bandage. It bled right through. I told Dudley I was going to take Shorty to the Killeen Emergency Vet Clinic. He said to have the vet call him once I got there. When I arrived there, the vet took one look at Shorty's gums and said he had lost a lot of blood. He called Dudley and told him. He came back and advised me that he could do a blood transfusion for around $800 but that was no guarantee. I didnt have the money. He told me he would stop the bleeding and pack his ear with medicine. He said he didnt see much hope. After he stopped the bleeding and I paid another $180 I took Shorty home. It was now after midnight. I put Shorty in his bed and sat there talking to him. At 8am Shorty died in my arms. I just could not believe what just happened. My Shorty was with me for 11 years and in one day, a certified board surgeon killed him. At 8:30 my phone rang and it was Dudley asking how Shorty was doing. I told him Shorty died 30-minutes ago. And he had the nerve to say to me, "I am so sorry. I wish I could have done something to help." Then he hung up. WTF!!! He accepted no responsibility for anything. Didn't offer to refund the money I spent or anything. I wrote this just so people will know what kind of person he is and what kind of clinic he is running. PLEASE, IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO THE DUDLEY VET CLINIC. ! IT WAS THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE! I am currently working with an attorney to file a malpractice suit against this clinic. Dr. Dudley and his AMAZING nurses were a great place for us to take our 9 month old Dachshund puppy when she needed elbow surgery. Dr. Dudley will give you his home and cell number so you can contact him any time, and he is a great doctor. His nurses were each incredible, and talked me through all the intricacies of Navi's procedure and follow ups. I would recommend them, even with the long drive from Austin to Georgetown that we had to do. read more

Can't speak highly enough of the people that work at the Georgetown Veterinary Hospital! They really care about the animals and you can tell right away that it's not about the $ for them. Dr. Dudley was great and explained everything that would happen during Fred's surgery. He showed us comparison X-rays from other surgeries that were similar, showed us before and after X-rays and really explained everything that would happen during surgery and how we can make sure Fred heals and recovers in the coming months. I'm so thankful Dr. Dudley was able to save our fur baby's leg!! Fred has a long road of recovery, but he will do it with all 4 legs and not the 3 we thought he was gonna have left. read more

We took our little "precious" pet to see Dr. Dudley for clubbed feet. He and his staff were EXTREMELY caring with us and our animal. Dr. Dudley splinted his legs and told us in two to three weeks it is very possible this situation will be corrected. He is walking GREAT now and will be able to take him back or his check up this week. Baxter is my baby, a 10.5 year old SPOILED ROTTEN Yorkie. Around the end of February he broke his little leg. My regular vet, Dr. McLeod of RR and several of his staff highly recommended that I seek out Dr. Dudley's services. Baxter had broken his leg seriously close to his hip which made his a very delicate surgery. The only other option would have been amputation. Dr. Dudley's office took amazing care of my baby. The day I took him in, one of the nurses actually took him home and personally cared for him for 2 days until they could do his procedure. Then when I couldn't care for him because I was terrified he'd re-break his little leg again I let the staff know I was going to give him away. This was literally 3 days after the procedure-I didn't want them to have done the surgery, I accidentally allow him to re Break it, and then would have to have it amputated?!?!!, that was too much for my brain. One of the nurses took care of him for me for 3 weeks at no cost whatsoever and got him through that critical post-op stage because they knew I didn't want to give him away and they knew how to really care for him. Now, like 5 weeks post-op he's trying to run around-AMAZING!!!!! His surgery was a SMASHING SUCCESS!!!!!! His surgery may have been costly but I love my dog and he's worth every penny AND the care, special attention, assistance, everything I've gotten from Dr. Dudley's office is PRICELESS. They really do care and that's something money can't buy and definitely something that is lacking in this world today. I thank Dr. Dudley and his amazing staff for everything. We witnessed a hit and run of a stray puppy and upon recommendation from vets in Austin brought the dog to Dr. Dudley. The poor little guy had a broken femur and needed surgery to remove the broken part of the bone. I was impressed the entire time by all the staff! They were kind, thoughtful, and explained in detail the procedure. The puppy got the best care and came through surgery amazingly well. Sabrina was helpful to make sure we understood the follow up care. I highly recommend them. They made a sad situation a much brighter one. I can't say enough good about Dr. Dudley. My dog Buddy ruptured his ACL on his hind right leg back in 2009, and we went to Dr Dudley at Austin Veterinary Surgical Center to have it repaired. While other surgeons were saying we had to get the TPLO procedure because of Buddy's weight (over 50 lbs), Dr. Dudley said he has had excellent results doing CCLR (Cranial Cruciate Ligament Repair), a less expensive procedure, even on dogs heavier than my Buddy. He was right. Buddy healed very well and has had zero problems until this weekend when he tore his other ACL. I took him to Dr. Sunbury to confirm he tore it. While there, he and I got on the phone to call Dr. Dudley and found out that the AVSC has been sold. It took a couple phone calls, but we tracked him down. His current surgical center, Dudley Veterinary Surgical Center, is now located in the Northwest Pet Hospital in Georgetown on Williams Drive. Still the same awesome doctor, just in a new location. There's no other vet surgeon I would want to work on my pets. I'm guessing his specialty is repairing torn ACLs. While in his waiting room today, I saw a lot of shaved butts & legs coming in for post-surgical check-ups, and all of them were walking very well on formerly useless legs. One cannot say or write enough good about Dr. Dudley and his staff. The day that he retires will be a sad one for pet owners of Central Texas, this super vet takes on THE most difficult, risky cases, surgical cases, as when dogs fall off of the back of a truck and their spine has been broken, and after recovery we find the dog "as good as new", a pet owners greatest joy. If the surgery takes 12 hours to accomplish, you can absolutely count on Dr. D. to be in surgery the entire time, until the job is "done right". I was fortunate to have met him many years ago when he was much younger, he has done complex surgeries on various pets of mine for about 15 years, not one has come out badly. If you REALLY want to do the best for your pet, and if you can afford such, Dr. Dudley simply cannot be beat. As with all super vets, he has to charge for the best equipment and the best staff, but he attempts to make his fee as affordable as possible. What more can you ask for? read more

Our dashsund, Abby, was suffering from a back disc problem, could hardly walk on her back legs, and was in pain. Afer seeing our vet, she referred us to Dr. Dudley. Dr Dudley and his staff were so kind and professional in answering any questions we had. After examining Abby, he explained the details of the surgery procedure and what he was expecting in recovery, along with a diet plan for Abby. The assistant showed us a detailed item bill so we knew exactly what the charges were for and final total would be. There were no hidden extra costs for suture removal or follow up visit with Dr Dudley. After surgery another assistant gave us follow up exercises and home recovery instructions for Abby. After 3 weeks, Abby was walking on all fours and continues to get better each week, chasing her ball now as if nothing ever happened to her. We could not be happier with the results of her surgery and the compassiate, great care Abby received from Dr. Dudley and his staff. read more
