Not good customer service. Not patient-centered. Office staffer, Addie, is too rude for our family and pets.

This place is really good. Reliable, and they're not trying to squeeze money out of you like crazy. Just nice, knowledgable people.

In case you don't know, most of the veterinary clinics are being gobbled up by corporate monoliths, eager to tap into the lucrative market of doting pet parents who want to know everything their pet can't tell them. So they develop lists of mandatory services--much like car dealerships--that include $200 of lab work each visit, $35 nail trims, plus charges for all the extra staff it takes to make you feel like your baby is being carefully inspected from head to toe. Unfortunately, a lot of times, the vet techs at these three-letter places might love pets, but haven't the first clue what to do other than cuddle them since yesterday they were taking your order at Happy McBurgermeister. Make no mistake. This is an animal hospital, country-style. It is not your marble-countered, Starbucks-serving, rest-your-tushy-on-leather-sofas-while-you-wait pet resort. You'll see and smell large animals in vet pens behind the parking lot. You'll need to wait in your car or outside with your pet until they call you in since there isn't a large waiting room. This office emphasizes function (keeping pets well) over form (keeping owners pampered). If you want to pay extra for personal comfort or to light up the midnight sky with branding signage, have mercy on yourself and meander on over where those things are possible. I took our pupperonis in yesterday for their second round of vaccines. We were about 10 minutes early, and had to wait about 20 minutes to be called inside. When we were, we were immediately escorted back to a spartan treatment room with a single wooden chair. Dr. Tarleton came in immediately to confirm our treatment, and came back almost as quickly with the syringes. The furbabies were in and out in under 5 minutes. No muss, no fuss. Shots over. I should mention that they have great deals with rebates on Virbac-branded heartworm treatment. The big names are about $20 more for 6 months. These also cover tapeworms, and there was a $10-25 rebate offered depending on how many you bought at once. I hesitate to quote prices, but, experientially, their heartworm meds were on par with prices I paid last year at Emancipet--actually, less, after the rebate. In the end, what I paid for were good, honest veterinary services and the time it took to render them. I genuinely appreciate the hyper-conscious effort Dr. Tarleton makes at cost containment and his no-frills approach to keeping the four-legged friends we love and who love us back healthy and happy.

They helped us through hospice care and eventually saying goodbye to our German Shepherd, Diego, last December. Then, just six months later, we went through the same experience with our pittie - Sammie. In both situations, the staff was compassionate, patient, and respectful of what our family was going through. Most recently, we rushed our German Shepherd, Gunner, in with what I feared was bloat. Thankfully, it wasn't, but he was diagnosed with a severe prostate infection requiring immediate treatment. They were able to get him in quickly, address the situation, and provide the care he needed. He's now home recovering! Having experienced everything from routine veterinary visits to emergencies, hospice care, and euthanasia, we've seen firsthand how this team handles a wide range of situations. Good veterinary care matters, but so does how you're treated during stressful and difficult circumstances -- professionalism, communication, and genuine concern.

No, they are not the cheapest, but they are not unaffordable as far as vet care goes by any means. They are thorough and they absolutely want the best care for your pet. As long as I live in the Georgetown area we will not take our dogs anywhere else.

Even though we had never been clients before, they fit us in quickly so our dog would not continue to suffer. The kindness and compassion they showed us during that experience meant so much to our family, and because of that, I transferred our pets there as regular clients. I had wonderful experiences with Dr. Mundal and always felt our pets received thoughtful, attentive care from her. Unfortunately, after she left the practice, my experience changed significantly. One of the vet tech experiences left a very bad impression on me due to impatience and poor communication. I specifically requested not to work with that tech again. Beyond that, appointments often felt unprepared. Rather than reviewing my pet's chart beforehand, I was repeatedly asked for information that was already documented in the file, including medication lists and prior treatments. It became frustrating to feel like I was constantly re-explaining established medical history. I also repeatedly received reminders for vaccines and services that had already been completed months earlier. After this happened multiple times, it began to create concern about organization, oversight, and confidence in the accuracy of my pets' records. It was disappointing because our initial experience with Old Town was so positive and compassionate. Ultimately, due to the ongoing communication and organizational concerns, I decided to move my pets' care elsewhere.

It's been almost a year since the incident, but I'll remember it, unfortunately, for a long time. I encountered every cat mom's nightmare when a large rattlesnake showed up on our Catio not two feet from my cat. In doing everything I could to save both of us, I kept my girl from getting close or fleeing into the road. I was scratched up and she was too scared for me to look her over properly. I had gone to Zoot at the time and had being going there for nearly eight years. I believed I knew the clinic well and the staff, and trusted they would care for my baby. I was in a tense situation myself, unsure how badly I'd been scratched in the chaos. There was blood drying in my hair and my hand was shaking while I drove to the facility. I had called ahead of time and let them know the situation and how I did not know if my cat had been bitten. When I arrived, I was met at the cat and told to go somewhere else. I panicked and pleaded with them. I would happily take her to an ER if I knew she had been struck and nothing could be done here- but I just needed peace of mind and all my credits were there so if there was a large fee than we would have the means to do whatever she needed. I pleaded, shaking still from the adrenaline and was finally allowed inside. The vets and techs were all busy, but I was placed in a room to wait with Nebula. Thankfully two techs I knew were working that day. However, neither were informed of my situation, only that an owner was here that needed to go to the ER instead. I was told the vet would not see me, and would not enter the room. I want to say there was incredible courage and empathy on the past of my friends Jacob and Jenny. Jacob ended up taking time out to help me look over my cat (who had no puncture marks). He also let me borrow a thermometer to check and make sure. I had medical training before, so I knew what to look for. I wish the story ended there, but after I lost sight of Jacob, I was allowed to clean up in the sink blood pouring down my face. It all caught up with me and I started crying. Everyone around me gave me so much space I felt like I didn't even know where I was. The vet who has refused to even enter the room where I was, came by when I was washing my wounds. I am not sure her conversation but she was laughing right next to me while I was crying. Never said a word to me. My friend, a fantastic vet tech there, Jenny, finally came over after not realizing what had happened or been allowed to check into rooms not assigned to her. I don't really think I was assigned at all to be honest. She personally tended to my wounds and made sure I had medicine. I took off the rest of the day, and while many signs happened before, this was the one that really let me know I shouldn't be at a facility like this. I felt like a stranger, and a burden, to a place I knew very well. it was traumatic to feel no empathy around me except for my friends and some of my co workers. After I spoke with our hospital manager, who was very gracious and kind about the situation- I only received an apology from her. I unfortunately saw no change the remainder of the weeks I was there. I will always trust Jenny and Jacob, as well as my regular vet that wasn't there that day- Dr Davis. All have intense desire to see pets happy and healthy and they have compassion for the humans who care for them I don't believe this was any one person's fault. It's more a collection of the twisted ideals in the company that would place secondary comfort over primary care of both animals and people. An underlining rush and speed to finish every room, instead of seeing the pet and person before you..... I hope nobody has to go through what I went through that day.
