So. We received a door hanger menu for George's Wings on Morrell Ave.. After reviewing the menu, they seemed like they had a lot of solid choices for food. We made an order for delivery, ordering the following: 2 orders of potato wedges, 15 medium wings, "chicken pickle Jawn" sandwich, a chicken sandwich with bbq sauce, a plain burger, mashed potatoes and gravy fries. We ollnly received one order of the wedges, no biggie. The wedges were bland, with zero flavor. The burger was just okay. The chicken sandwich was made up of three small pieces, but was overcooked, dry. The mashed potatoes were good and the gravy fries were okay. The bride said the pickle jawn sandwich decent. The wings were average. All in all, if you're looking for a quick bite, this place may be okay, but if you want a good bite, I'd suggest going elsewhere. read more

I received the George's Wings menu from my complex as part of a welcome package. when I first saw it, I thought it was just another run of the mill chicken joint. I was WRONG! George's has some of the best fresh tenders I've ever had. Their tenders are huge, freshly made and full of flavor. The fries are crispy (even when delivered!) and their dinner plate platters are delicious! The people over there are so nice and friendly whether you order for pickup or delivery and they've always been top notch If they've ever messed up an order. When you walk into George's, the ambiance is that of a cozy small business, signs on the wall, historic pics of Philadelphia, news articles (yknow they're good when the papers rave about them) and sit in booths for you to eat in if you so choose. I tried the burgers after walking in and seeing the cook freshly press the burgers and I was not disappointed at all!!! The flavor was amazing and it was cooked perfectly! My husband also tried the grilled chicken platter which was cooked beautifully! The owner came out and spoke to us. This little gem is own by such a sweet Greek couple! My co-worker recommended this restaurant for our Lunch break, so I decided to check it out and place an order. I love that you are able to place your order online, and can even track it to see when it will be ready for pickup. I ordered the chicken tenderloins which looked really delicious, and included barbecue sauce. The shopping center is a little small and not easy to navigate with traffic, but thankfully I was able to get in and out just fine. The employee at the counter was very friendly and even allowed me to add on a Snapple to the card I used on file. In terms of the food, they give a large portion and the chicken tenderloins were huge! I could only eat half of the chicken. I will say that the chicken smelled similar to my local Chinese restaurant (I'm thinking it might be the oil that is used to fry the chicken). The chicken was good, but not my absolute favorite. The food was not very good. I asked for mayo on my cheesesteak, but received ketchup. Also the cheesesteak was so soggy I could not lift it up without the bottom giving out. We also got fried chicken which was good, and the only reason this is not a one star review. The mac & cheese was clearly not homemade, and looked literally like a neon orange brick when I got it back to my home. The Fried shrimp was ok with the spicy sauce but the oil on it felt like it sat in my stomach for hours. I asked for the side salad with the shrimp meal and just did not receive it. We got the slaw too which was not very good and was given to us at room temp which I have never experienced before. Lastly the cornbread is VERY dry. I am very familiar that cornbread is dry, but this was like sand in my hands. I did not reach out the the business nor should you have too about these kind of issues. They seem to like to point people not reaching out to them on reviews on google. It is not the customers responsibility to double check their work. They should be making sure what they send out is accurate to what the customer orders, and reflects what they want their business to look like to consumers. Family run business with signature wings, salads, fried chicken platters and sandwiches. There's a few seats inside, but it's mostly take out. Service was very good. Appears that George's has done a great job in establishing themselves in the area. The restaurant throughout is very clean and neat. Many orders were flowing through every minute while I waited about 10 minutes for my bbq honey glazed wings. They also have a very nice catering page on the menu, for your big events. My wings were good. Lots of sauce (more than I would desire). They were on the smaller side and cooked well. Not the best wings I've had, but good enough to try another flavor or other items on the menu. I also ordered the Cajun French fries on the side. They were very hot and crispy, just how I like them. The charbroiled chicken is and will always be my favorite. If you're trying to be healthy, but still want to eat out with the family, this place is for everyone. I always get the char chicken with a side of the chicken and vegetable rice, which is flavorful and different from any other side dish for a platter at any take out restaurant I've been too. Nothing special really. This place is around the corner from my apartment and I've wanted to try it for a while. I ordered 10 MEDIUM wings. I chose to pickup, so I sat inside and waited. It was a reasonable wait. About 10 minutes go by and they announce that 10 MILD wings are ready. I continue to wait. They give the order to another customer and then she turns to me and says I think this is your order because I should have more wings than this. She returns the wings to them. There was then some bickering behind the counter and then someone turns to me and says this IS your order. I stated 10 MEDIUM wings and they assured me oooo yes 10 MEDIUM wings. This place used to be good back when it was called Mr. Wings. Wings were soggy and slimy. Too much sauce. It's a shame the wings are good sized. Corn on the cob was overcooked in a styrofoam container half full of butter water that spilled all over in bag. Garden salad was ok as well as fries. No celery with wings. For a place that uses Wings in the name of their business the wings are pretty disappointing. This is the second time I was really disappointed in the wings. I decided to give them another try. Placed a order today at 8:38pm on their website, for a simple order of 15 wings. Said it would take about an hour. Around 9:52pm we realize we made the order so we check the site. It says DELIVERED! but yet NO WINGS are in my hands. So I run down stairs to the front door, and after waiting for 5 min, I go back upstairs. They've got really great chicken everything - wings, cheese steaks, fried, you name it. They've also got other sandwiches, burgers, spare ribs, seafood platters, etc. Whenever I want to get a big order of wings to take with me to a friend's house to watch football, boxing, or some other sporting event, I always order from Mr. Wings. Their buffalo wings are superb - crispy, tangy, meaty, and ready in a jiffy. The staff is also really nice. If you are getting wings for the Super Bowl, I suggest calling the night before or early that morning to place your order. Meh, I ordered tonight and it was okay. I ordered the Georges burger and the honey bbq wings. The burger was just okay, it was over cooked and so were the fried onions. They were so hard I had to take them off he burger. As for the wings, they were very good. I ordered them well done because I like them crispy. They were cooked perfect, but the sauce! They were a little heavy on the sauce, which then made some of them soggy. I still think Pats pizza still has the best wings around. Delivery was fast, which is always a good thing. Fantastic pressure cooked fried chicken. Always liked that it was made as I ordered instead of laying around. I've made some very large orders for parties through here. The staff were always extremely grateful, even throwing in some extra chicken, sodas and such. On the, very small, down side, some of the other items I've had here aren't quite as memorable. Nothing in any way bad, but just not as good as the fried chicken. Though both the fries and onion rings are perfectly acceptable. The fried chicken is the real reason to go here.
